Just stopping by to thank everyone that used to attend our bi-weekly Rebel Up tourneys that were started by James Xie. As most of you know we shut down at the end of last year but have now acquired a new location and starting things up once again! I wanted to guage the interest a bit and see if everyone still wanted this even to be scheduled on a bi-weekly basis just as before. I will come around and check this thread every so often so please feel free to ask any questions or leave any suggestions here. Our estimated opening date will be in about 3-4 weeks so stay tuned for updates. T-loc hit me up and was interested in TOing these things, and Delta and his friends used to do a good job too. So if you guys want to contact me, feel free to do so and lets get the ball rolling. (talked to t-loc a bit on twitter, feel free to contact me there too @superdojo) thanks again!

[TBA] Rebel Up (GGXRD, DFC, P4AU, UNIEL, BBCP, SG) - Walnut, CA

Theres a couple things i would like to chime in on regarding this event. i totally agree that this event is here because of its format and free tournaments being offered. i think $5 is a big jump and i see this only benefitting a small handful of people while alienating a large bunch. i think there is a medium where you can possible make it $2 instead of $5 or offering like $1 entries as well. i dont think the $5 mark is needed to keep people in line and on time, where as just having any amount, even small as $1-$2 would stop them from being tardy to their match. its tough being a TO so i understand how it is hard to improve and make changes while keeping everyone happy. being strict on showing up for matches should be the first step and i think implementing higher costs for tourneys should come second. this event has been strong for a few years now and i hope you guys find a resolution. good luck. -

Just got off the phone with atlus and spoke to an atlus rep that stopped by our shop a few minutes ago. As already stated this whole thing was apparently not even finalized and should have never been announced to begin with. No big deal. We have not figured out as of yet what will be completely done regarding this so please dont jump to any conclusions or make any false rumors. For everyone waiting on info please be patient and we are trying to work out a solution that would keep the event here for starters, but also allow some time for us to handle this situation. FTR, I have 0 hate, anger, or animosity vs jyosua. He has done nothing wrong and he is only fighting for what he feels is right. Regardless, hang tight for updates guys. They will be coming real soon! -

ah nice, event is changing date for "one-time" only. glad to see as the host of this event i was notified of this. also glad to see as the venue who normally hosts this we were able to showcase the new persona FOR FREE but when we have a paid event and a chance to make some income it is moved? no problem guys. we will get to the bottom of this. i am awaiting a callback from ATLUS and will update thread soon as i have more info. (you guys like to move stuff around and endanger a whole community over something minor and selfish lol, np. maybe i can fill up all my dates with smash bros and have 100+ man events without all the drama) you know who im talking to *wink wink* bbl, watson -

when you come to talk to someone man to man in person, then go home and rant online and make accusations that will not be taken as a friendly gesture. you posted this on neogaf : "For the record, what I posted on my twitter last night was right after talking to Watson in person. I have no doubt in my mind that he's going to downplay it with the blog post he said he was going to make tonight, but the fact of the matter is that neither myself nor iebattlegrounds can stream our events on our own channels at Super Arcade anymore. Watson is requiring that the [still unnamed] Super Arcade channel be used for all non-Level|Up events." because? i am going to downplay what? you even tried to put words into rotanibors mouth and he insta posted for you to stop. you also posted this on twitter: "from, I've read and heard all the shit the Arcade's been through, but I don't think he cares about streamers." because? you think you know what i think about streamers? then another tweet i saw was this: "Do we really need to start signing contracts for venues to ensure that terms of usage don't change randomly? Is that what this has come to?" do you feel entitled to something or are the new changes that we are implementing doing something bad for the community? see, this all boils down to you being upset then going home and ranting. i didnt want to make you look bad publicly but you are leaving me with no choice. we will all talk at rebel up tomorrow and i have no problem listening to everyones thoughts and opinions. but just be ready for a harsh reality because i promise you one thing, all this fuss and nonsense was not created by me. also another issue as to the people who stream at super arcade. have you heard mando complain 1 time about anything? nope. why? because he is aware that my goals are for the greater good of the community. his viewership is triple that of yours and i dont have a clue as to how many times over his subscriber base is compared, but im sure its more than triple. im not trying to rub it in, but if you see others doing something and not complaining, wouldnt it seem like this is a step in a the right direction? and why dont you tell people exactly what i told you about level up, and how you are unhappy that they are supposedly getting a free pass? why dont you mention that they have a 25 thousand dollar tricaster and over 10k in equipment that i am free to use at any time. why dont you mention that me and valle have known each other for almost 20 years and we work closely together on many events? you just selectively state your assumptions and dont talk about what the real issues are. i truly truly did want to put you on blast or make it out that you are a bad guy in any way, but by your posts and opinions you have left me with no choice. you do have ulterior motives and they became ever so obvious the minute you walked out the door. we discussed how streams make pennies and its not about the money. we also discussed that my goal of gaining a larger audience and trying to get sponsors and an influx of free pot money into rebel up was important to me. you agreed and claimed to understand, yet you go home and start expressing your opinions and how when talking about an event its "our event" or "our community" but when talking about the stream its "your" stream. how convenient it is to use these words isnt it? i have been around the block longer than you have existed so trust me when i say, ive seen all this shit before. at first it started out as for the community, then it wound up being about you having followers and subscribers. then it also wound up being about you wanted to run events elsewhere. i get it dude, i really do. and im sure everyone else gets it too. but dont go and try to put me on blast for trying to make your community better and giving it more exposure. see you tomorrow. -

sorry to post more nonsense in this thread, but i just want you to know josh, i know you are contacting twitch in hopes of finding info. do you really think you can do or say anything about me or my establishment without anyone finding out? there is no backdoor and you do not know as much as you think you do. fortunately for you i am now much more mature and can tolerate your childish antics very easily. i will be at the arcade early tomorrow cleaning and setting up. i suggest you do the same and only one request. do not raise your voice or act childish or any conversation we have will end. thanks. -

lol, i just found out not only is jyosua posting on twitter but also making a neogaf post too? cmon man..... really? youre gonna come down to super and talk to me man to man, then go home and be a baby and make assumptions and cry online... not cool, not professional, and not helping anyone out by doing so... even rotanibor had to tell you to slow your roll cause you were making comments including him that werent backed by fact. just stop dude. we will discuss this further and by you making posts all over the place it just shows immaturity and ulterior motives. see you saturday. -

since people like to stir up drama, there is going to be a time coming up real soon where people need to make a decision and voices need to be heard from the community. as of right now i am taking the blunt of things and being marked as the bad guy. you guys know who im talking to, but we will have a stream to discuss everything and i will be posting on our blog with further explanation. and for those of you who are only hearing one side to all this, let me say that this is complete bullshit and dont believe any assumptions being made. i have always welcomed you all here at our establishment and supposedly now jyosua knows what i am thinking and knows how i view things....... cmon man, cut the kiddie games out. -

there is no SSBM on sunday oct 27th and i dont have an event booked for sat nov 2nd either. so the balls in your court now guys. please confirm asap so i can lock in the date you guy want. once again, sorry for the miscommunication, but the changes that went on and lack of "confirming" created this issue to begin with. if you guys need a couple days to get back to me thats not a problem and if you choose sunday to run the tourney i will throw in a few items to try and attract people to come. 1-madcatz ps3 fightstick, 1-triton 5.1 headset, 1-triton kunai headset, 1-stickbag. hopefully that will show you guys that i truly do appreciate your business and everyone will be happy and understanding of the situation. thanks, watson

i dont mean to nitpick you guys or anything, and im sure you all know we truly do need the support of everyone here at the arcade so i definitely wouldnt want to offend any community. my issue here involves a couple things. firstly, i received and email from Russell Iriye back on 9/16. i replied to him and we tried to touch base on friday 9/20. i called him at work as suggested and he told me he would call me back the following monday....... i received no call back or return email. then valle hits me up and tells me russell worked something out so that we would premier BBCP at TRB and there is no set tourney for 10/26. so what am i to assume here? secondly, since you guys went from bi-weekly to kind of whenever you want it makes it a little tough on me to schedule things or reserve dates. i really cant afford to miss out on throwing an event. there was obviously some miscommunication here and i will be the first to accept blame. i just wanted to state my side of the situation and hope you guys understand. if we can get on the same page asap this would be great as i do not want to lose any customers or piss anyone off. i would like to rectify this situation asap and maybe if i was able to throw in a couple prizes for the first BBCP weekend tourney you guys might be happy? thanks.
-
thanks for the quick reply josh. since you guys went from bi-weekly to monthly and left no set date, i didnt reserve the specific weekends for you guys. thats why i was asking if nov 2nd was good cause we are running a level up event on oct 26th. let me know if this works soon so i can plan out our november weekends, dont want to double book anything especially cause the rebel turnouts take up a lot of space. thanks again, watson

hey guys, just wanted to drop some info and also get some info and feedback from you guys. 1. saturday Oct 12th we are doing a "dinner and movie" night where we are showing "bang the machine" and have taco catering w/ food service starting at 7pm and movie at 9pm. one time $10 venue charge for both. 2. thursday Oct 24th we are running our normal TRB tourney but included is the new BlazBlue w/Aksys games coming out. tourneys start about 9pm. now my questions for you guys: 1. would you like to run the next rebel up saturday Nov 2nd? 2. are you satisfied with our venue and is there anything we can do for you to make your experience better? would greatly appreciate the feedback and i will be checking the thread here and there. thanks again guys for your continued support and hope to see you all soon! watson

thank you guys for having a great turnout as usual. i was told this was going to happen bi-weekly again by a few then once a month by others so not sure what dates i should reserve for you on the calendar. can someone please get on this so i know whens the next time you need our venue? dont want to double book anyone and planning events with other coordinators currently and trying not to have any conflicts with dates. if you could tweet @SuperDojo it would be much easier for me to see, but i will check this forum on and off for the next few days in hopes we can get a solid date soon. thanks again!
