  1. Updated the OP with the new changes. What exactly does it mean where it says she can now cancel ground swords into air teleport?
  2. Is this even a big deal though? Trans-Am's problem isn't that it doesn't last long enough. I guess it means you don't need to burn OD on fatal combos anymore, but... The extra invuln and GA 3C changes sound great. I'm not sure how I feel about the swords changes; it sounds like 66 > 2B isn't going to be safe from 236D anymore, which hurts our mixup game significantly. They want us to spend 3 stars to get a safe 50/50 from it now?
  3. I would also recommend a square gate. If you're having trouble doing IADs because you feel like you're moving too much of your arm, try adjusting your grip. Most good grips are centered on using one or two fingers to do most of the work, so that dashing and IADing is as simple as double clicking a mouse.
  4. IMO you should strive to get 6 stocks in normal mode, switch to GA and never switch back. Try not to waste stocks, use them on the bare essentials like everybody said. One of Izayoi's weaknesses is that she doesn't get much damage by spending meter, other than throw > RC combos and midscreen corner carry stuff, so you might as well use your meter to RC and regain stocks whenever possible. I'll also OD fairly aggressively if it means I get to keep my momentum; the screen freeze and invincibility from OD can be useful when you're expecting them to poke or jump out of your pressure, and you then regain enough stocks for two big combos to end the round. And yeah, as for the mode switch combos, the new combo thread is coming very soon, I promise!
  5. 236B is a hard knockdown for 30F, plus float time (probably like 3F if you hit a standing opponent), so we'll say 33F. That would mean 214A is cancelable on the 23rd frame, since 2B is 11F and a frame-perfect link afterwards. That's about consistent with what I found when I was testing it. 214B is exactly 4F slower, which is why 236B > 214B > 2A doesn't work.
  6. Yes, the patch is coming out in May.
  7. Yeah Trans-Am is the best damage you can get midscreen on a crouching opponent or from counterhit, but otherwise, it's not super viable. It doesn't actually cover any important gaps in your GA pressure aside from making your gimmicks safer, and the star requirement means it's not a very good choice when you're forced to switch to normal mode. Edit: Oh yeah, and if you do get a confirm while Trans-Am is active, it'll mess up your combo route and probably lead to less damage than normal if you don't drop the combo outright.
  8. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the only proration changes I saw are the ones to Lotus, and those are overall buffs. You'll now get less damage if you start a combo with a Lotus (which is very unlikely), but you'll get more damage if you use Lotus in the middle of a combo, and there are 4 extra frames of hitstun which might make some more stuff possible. Overall, her changes are all very minor, which is good since she was already strong in 1.0.
  9. Bought it, but still can't get my D-Pad to work with it, so I guess it's back to being a keyboard warrior. I've tried using a DS2, DS3, and DS4 and it only recognizes the analog sticks.
  10. Pretty cool, I didn't know about delaying the 5C to make 2C connect in the second loop. The damage is 4499 though. These are a little easier and more damaging: 3C FC > 2C > 5C > 2C(1) > 236B > 214A > 2C > 5C > 6C > j.C > jc > j.B > j.C > j.236C~D - 4519 3C FC > 2C > 5C > 2C(1) > 236B > 214A > 2C > 236C~6D > 214B > 5B > 5C > j.B > j.C > jc > j.B > j.C > j.236C~D - 4870 Ideally though if you get a 3C FC midscreen, you should try to push them into the corner, which isn't hard. 3C FC > 2C > 5C > 2C(1) > 236C~6D will corner them from half screen, and if you add a Phorizer, it's more like 75%. From there you can teleport and follow up with 5C > 2C > 236B > 214A > etc. for max damage.
  11. 6C FC > CT > 2C > 5C > 6C > 236B > 214A > 2B > 5C > j.BAC > 5A > 623C > j.C > j.236C - 5245 +6 stars
  12. I'm seeing people on other forums who actually believe this yolo mode is going to become the tournament standard. Yeah, ok, as if the FGC would prefer broken ass Yun vs Sagat matches all day instead of the new version that JUST got rebalanced by community opinion. I'm also a little concerned about online ranked, but I assume it will Ultra characters only. Combofiend made it sound like it's going to be a separate mode.
  13. It sounds like Valk would be perfect for you, or maybe Litchi, but you didn't mention either of them in your list. Most of the characters you mentioned are limited in the same way Izayoi is, by some kind of resource that you need to manage to maintain your pressure, and their normals are overall not that impressive. Valk and Litchi can both play a patient neutral game and go into pressure seamlessly. If you're looking for a low tier alternative, Makoto also kind of fits the bill. She's very explosive and is a lot of fun to play. Tsubaki mains are all tsunderes, that's why.
  14. According to the frame data, it should be +31 at point blank, but I don't know how much I would trust the frame data in cases like these.
  15. Continuing the trend of making the cooler character into a support, I see.
  16. That's the best way to troll yourself.
  17. Thanks for posting this stuff. The thread may not be too active, but I still watch them all. Haha.
  18. They are different. The DS3 uses mini-USB, while the DS4 uses micro-USB. God knows we need to keep making everything smaller.
  19. From a max range 6C, 236B > 214A > 2B should connect on all characters. 5C might whiff though. Also @TD: You can't link dash 2A after a teleport, because teleport recovery is only normal/special cancelable. If you want to dash, you'll have to wait an extra ~5 frames for the recovery to end.
  20. So is the version on JP PSN the newest one? I don't want to spend $60 for nothing.
  21. If you want to play a character who forces you to think, play Rachel. There seriously is no better character for tuning out mashy habits.
  22. Honestly, there's no sense complaining about these changes. This is only a minor patch to address Kokonoe, and it's clear that they didn't make an attempt to rebalance the entire cast. We're lucky that they took a look at Izayoi at all. She will continue to get buffs in the next full version.
  23. The poll is about what you would prefer to be the standard in your ideal world, I guess. For me it's still Playstation; I hate the way Microsoft markets itself, and the people it markets itself to. Many of the games I want to play are exclusive to Playstation, and none of them are exclusive to XBox. Free netplay is no longer a tiebreaker, unfortunately, but I still think PS Plus gives you a much better value than XBox Gold. Playstation wins on every angle for me. Edit: I would vote for PC to be the universal standard if there were some easy way to make that work for tournaments. Consoles will be obsolete in the not-so-distant future once companies get smart and make cheap console-sized gaming PCs.
  24. Yeah, you have to delay stuff a little bit. Pretty much any part of the sequence 5A > 623B > 214B > 623C can be delayed to keep them low enough.
