I'm hoping Luke and HF at least can make use of this. I think the community is making a bigger deal of this than it really is, considering I don't believe most people will commit to learning it, but it looks very useful. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php/topic/10904-xrd-option-select-special-move-or-faultless-defence/

It's nice to see a new face. Just check this thread once in a while to see when events are happening. Kevin (Bearell) is running three biweekly tournaments, starting this saturday, and then we'll most likely return to a monthly format afterwards. The information is all right here https://www.facebook.com/events/925760557485087/

Sorry about whatever that was on facebook. I just deactivated my account because I didn't want to deal with whatever it was. If you get a notification that says you're tagged in a video, probably with a friend's profile picture as the thumbnail, don't click it. Within an hour or two, your account will start spamming that same shit. I had 20 videos or so pop up before my account started doing the same thing. probably a good idea to change your password, delete your cookies, etc.

Will, I feel that some people (like myself) would like a chance to participate with money on the line, however, I feel like most people in our scene do not (and I'm starting to care less about being competitive too anyway). I don't remember if you were around when Haz used to run tournaments, but I do remember how pretty much everyone hated the venue fee. 5 dollars just to walk in the door, plus 5 dollars to enter a tournament, plus transportation. We're all cheap here. When originally setting up the monthlies, I knew that the turnout would be much smaller if money was involved.

I would like to at least continue recording them because multiple people have asked for footage of their matches. Plus we already have all of the equipment, and with how much money it all costed, it would feel like an enormous waste not to use it. I'm fine with helping run persona as well if enough people want it to stay, I'm just indifferent with it right now.

I've already talked with Kevin a little bit about all of this. Help him out any way you guys can because running all of this will be a ton of work and it's not fair to have all of it rest on his shoulders. I'll do what I can to help with these events, although I might not attend all three of them. I chose to stick with monthly tournaments before because I knew I would get burnt out trying to do bi-weekly, but I think Kevin can pull it off so long as he gets some help (and dropping persona as a tournament would help a ton as well). These types of events are a ton of work. Making arrangements to get a space to use, communicating with everyone attending, transporting dozens of pieces of equipment, setting all of it up, rearranging the space to not be a fire hazard, figuring out who's playing which games, setting up brackets, fixing brackets because something probably went wrong the first time, updating brackets throughout the tournament, running around setting up dozens of matches, running the stream, possibly commentating, doing all of it again for the next tournament, and the one after that, packing all of the equipment up, and rearranging the room to be the way it was. Not running persona would really help, but the biggest help would just be having everyone support Kevin any way they can, although I can't say specifically in what way that will be. I'll be there whenever I can be, but I'll be working a 4am-noon shift every Saturday this summer so I can't say I'll be very active when I'm there. I'm also doing physical therapy for my shoulder, and I have some other new health concerns too. I'm sorry about not keeping up with the monthlies, especially after I talked so much about how I would make sure there would always be one every month, but I just needed to focus on me for a little while. I'll help any way I can and I'll try to be there, but I can't promise much more than that right now. I haven't even been practicing Persona, even with it being at Evo again this year and placing so high last year. I say just drop Persona as one of the tournaments, if only because it would save a lot of extra work for Kevin. It always had the least entrants, and no one really practiced for it. Everyone who wants to play persona (myself included) would probably just prefer to play casuals instead.

It's character specific, only working on Jin (and Izayoi?). Make sure you're trying it on them. Sorry I haven't been posting too much. Life's ridiculously busy right now, to the point where I've only played maybe 2 hours since launch. Right now I'm just working on figuring out all of his new confirms and exploring new routes.

It may seem like Margaret is playing Yukari's game because of the fact that she can't just braindead win neutral like against most of the cast, but that doesn't mean the matchup is bad or even hard. Play slowly. Break persona cards. 5A shits on orbs, eats arrows, and outspaces all of yukari's buttons. It's tough hitting her in the air because Margaret doesn't hit the top portion of the screen very well, but there's nothing wrong with that. Hardly any characters can easily hit her up there. Margaret's mixup and knockdown game is better, with much higher reward (not just counting damage, also positioning/oki). Yukari's mixup is pretty awful at a high level, having to focus almost entirely on throws (in a game where throw option selects have become very common). There's a reason Tahichi dropped her FOR MARGARET. Margaret just does everything Yukari does but better.

I really hate making matchup lists but Margaret beats Yukari clean.

GGs on Saturday. Sorry I couldn't stick around for food. A few people have asked if there's going to be more monthlies, because I skipped last month's without giving any explanation. Yes, I want to run more tournaments. Things are just kind of crazy right now and I've been really busy. I hurt my shoulder at work a few weeks ago and my boss wouldn't let me return to work until after a doctor said I wasn't a risk. After getting it checked out, he initially thought I tore my labrum. I had an MRI to confirm it. I can't remember the name of the problem it actually turned out to be. There's just way too many syllables. My understanding is that I dislocated my shoulder all the way, and when it forced its way back in it broke part of the socket and "dented" the ball at the end of my arm. so uhh... cool? I feel perfectly fine for the most part. I have an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon that specializes in shoulders in two weeks. My doctor said I'll definitely need surgery at some point, but I won't know how big of a deal this is until after I see the specialist. The biggest reason I haven't set a date for the next tournament is just that I have no idea what's going on yet. For what it's worth, I feel fine unless I use my shoulder for specific types of things, and I'm even allowed to go to work and work out. This thing with my shoulder is in addition to the semester wrapping up soon. I'm also planning to be out of town for most of May, and I'll be busy running and setting up a swim team at the end of May or the beginning of June (which will likely prevent me from going to SCR now). I'm only saying all of this because I want you all to know the reasons why I haven't set up a tournament up in a while. I don't want anyone to think that I just gave up or something. Stuff's just really hectic right now. I might be able to set something up for the end of this month, but finals are the first week of May for me so I haven't decided yet. I'll let you guys know what I end up doing.
