I'm definitely interested in going to SCR, so if anyone else is interested in driving... I'll be eternally grateful Like Jimmy said, room 206/207 is available for the 28th, so I will very likely make that the date for next month's AZ Air Assault. I'll announce the actual event sometime this week. H-F, I'll be sure to have the tournament footage linked here as soon as I upload it all to youtube. Expect that in a few days. Dippy, don't feel bad about not cleaning up. I'm happy to have help, but I don't want anyone to feel like they need to stay longer than they want to. I seriously don't mind doing any of the work that needs to be done. I actually kind of enjoy that sort of thing...

We can use 202 anytime we want because no one is ever in it. I planned on using it for casuals a few times, but we've never had quite enough people or setups to make it worth it. It would also make getting people where they need to be for tournament matches much more difficult, and I already wish I was comfortable using my voice more to set up matches so I could save time. Jimmy was already trying to talk with the people that use 207 for board games. I'll see what we can do to get that room in the future because that would be ideal. Thanks everyone who showed up, I had a lot of fun. Thanks everyone who moved tables before I got there, it was a huge help. I wasn't there to see who did it, so I don't know who to thank specifically Thanks Kevin for running xrd. Thanks Dippy, Luke, Justin, Kevin, Darrel, and whoever else I'm missing for helping run the stream at times. I'm glad that I can just leave it be and people will be comfortable doing things, even having fun with it. Thanks everyone who updated the brackets at ANY point or set up matches that they knew should be happening. This helps things run on time so much it's really really a bigger deal than it seems. Good games to everyone who played. Good shit Luke for making top 3 in every game. Good shit Byron for winning Uniel and doing well in xrd. Good shit Marvin, Koogy, and all of the guys who came down from Tucson. Good shit Ruben for getting second in Uniel. You've beaten me twice in Uniel in a row now, which makes me happier than you might think.

I'll do my best to be there by 1:00 to set up, but I think I'm going to pick up a few things at Fry's Electronics so I might be there a little later. If anyone gets there early, it would be amazing and I would really appreciate it if you could start moving all the tables in the room so they are up against the walls like last time. That way we have room to play, without feeling like there's a fire hazard. Thanks to anyone who shows up. Today's going to be fun! edit: room 201

For the record, I don't give half a shit about my youtube channel. I want our scene to actually have a consistent event for these games that actually gets good turnouts. I want a scene I can be proud of, and I'm not just talking about having strong players. Back when Haz ran tournaments, we had a somewhat consistent thing to look forward to, although not a great one (out of the way, expensive, only 1 game that we cared about). After he stopped, there was literally nothing but casuals except the few times Ruben or I put together short sets of ranbats for only a single game each time. In my opinion, Ruben was the only person that made anything happen that entire time and I respected that more than anything. Not even joking about this, I had to do a tribute speech in my public speaking class and I did it on Ruben. Around evo last year I got really frustrated and confused with fighting games. I'm pretty competitive and I need to feel like I'm always improving or working towards something, but I realized in my position that I could never get to the point I wanted to with fighting games, at least the ones I wanted to focus on. If I wanted to play Marvel, I'd have Armando and Diego to practice with and grow with all of the time. I just knew I'd get frustrated over time and at some point wish I hadn't chosen to focus on this hobby. I talked about it a little bit at the time and threw around the idea of quitting altogether. Pretty much everyone told me something along the lines of "that sucks :/ I wish your circumstances were better." But I think Justin was the one that suggested I make a scene I would be proud of, so I decided to try. Ruben's been setting stuff up forever, helping people get around when they needed it, and just made things happen. Why couldn't I? I'll stop rambling now. I actually started typing all of that because I misread Ray's post and got a little pissed off for a second, until I read it again... sorry about that. You're kind of right that I'm running Melty just because some people want me to, but I'm perfectly fine with that. These days, I just want to run a consistent event that has whatever games people want to play. I want there to be something to look forward to on a somewhat consistent basis. Even if I don't play every game, I still want to run what would make people happy. I always hated how people thought a game couldn't have tournaments after the next game was released. "CP is out so P4U is dead. P4U2 is out so now CP is dead. etc." The main reason I want to stream these events and upload them to youtube is to actually show that we have a scene. This way if anyone is curious, they can see that we exist, and will be more likely to actually try showing up. I never would have met anyone here if Haz didn't stream his events because I never would have even known you guys existed.

Welcome! We run tournaments for Persona, Xrd, and Uniel these days, but we play pretty much everything at casuals once in a while. You should stop by or watch one of our monthlies sometime. All the info is right here https://www.facebook.com/events/1566244930281041/?ref_notif_type=event_mall_reply&source=1

I have a date set for this month's AZ Air Assault, Saturday the 28th. The event page is located here Go to the event page for all of the info, but here's the general stuff. Room 201, at UAT. I'll be setting up at 1:00pm and I'll be there all day. A big thing I'm going to try this month is trusting people to run their own sets. If I can have the bracket shown on the projector, and people pay close attention, hopefully it'll save me some trouble. I was so exhausted last month I just don't want to get burnt out, especially since I'm running 4 games this month. Games will be: -2:30pm, Persona 4: Ultimax [PS3] *signups end at 2:15 -4:30pm, Under Night in-Birth Exe:Late [PS3] *signups end at 4:15 -6:30pm, Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- [PS3] *signups end at 6:15 -Sometime after Guily Gear, MELTY BLOOD YES THERE WILL BE A MELTY BLOOD TOURNAMENT. Somehow, this is happening. It'll take place right after xrd finishes. It's probably only for this month, so if you're interested at all, this is the time to show up!
