  1. Level 2 drill? Do you mean the special stance that goes into drill (236D)? If you want to prevent them to jump, just hop from 5D into j.B. That or cancel hariken in D followup and into 5C. The last one is most likely to only beat jumping and again if they do not barrier in the air. But aside from cancelling 6D if you already committed to it, you don't have much
  2. pho cali? w/e we're next to china town
  3. I think last year I had to wait an hour to get my badge last year. Woop woop I don't know if I'll come and chill at the hotel, since you guys are most likely gonna get out of the venue pretty late. Not super interested in coming and hanging around until 4 am or leave early.
  4. A few matches online quickly replace "The corner" by "Protect the area behind you". If you play as if you're preventing Bang from 1. Getting close and 2. Going behind you, it's fairly easy to make decisions where you maintain a low commitment. The rewards are not too high, they may be, but at least you shouldn't find yourself only landing one attack at the the time until Bang's lifebar is gone. If not, getting him to block a bit is pretty good
  5. Yeah, but the story goes from "I'll order later" to "Knife" between two guys that couldn't understand each other in a public area. We just don't fucking know how it happened. And plus, we don't have to deal with the bartenders ourselves. I'm not saying keep going or anything, I'm just saying Foonzo cannot reliably have gone to be the place that threatens customers on a daily basis with a knife. We. Don't. Know.
  6. Straight from Facebook's MTLSF page Jimmy might have pointed out who it was... but I dunno wasn't there. Bibi said to me yesterday that currently the new employees he works with he cannot see it possible that they'd do that. Also, there's camera footage. Story ended with cops coming to foonzo giving the guy who called them the choice to press charges or give a warning. At least, that's my understanding of "He said so"
  7. https://twitter.com/MTLDerQ/status/497864406634864641 oh hey
  8. And it's weird, because EVERYTIME there was a good reason for them to change items. Bubble tea took a shit load of time for the waiters to make. If a table would each order one, you'd have to line them up, but they lost an item there from day 1 The recent beer change was how handling empty kegs was a pain, but that came with the extra price tag The poutine were gone for a while because the oven was completly fucked and it took 40 minutes, but the poutines before were bigger and added variety alongside the ramen, bibipmap, etc. Every time it made sense in some way to change, buuuuut it's also sucked in some way
  9. Let's factor in stuff and potential engine/global changes before jumping to conclusions 5D has more barrier pushback, pushback is determined by attack level. Two possibilities, barrier push back is better in this game or 5D is now level 5 (More blockstun) The gap from 5D > Zettou > j.B could according to the data we have, leave at best a 4 frames gap in between blockstun and j.B on NORMAL BLOCK. Think of 5D's amount of stagger, it'd be the same. The conclusion here is that if you don't have a DP, you better IB if you intend to mash out of this gap like you can right now. That'd be balls to the walls retarded. Heck you could even do j.D to make it even tighter. It's hard to tell how j.B can be faster especially when the only factual thing we have is j.A > j.B doesn't combo. Which may just best the reduced untech time on A normals that seem to affect more than one character. If we had say, 5C (air hit) > Zettou > j.B not connecting, that would indicate something more meaningful. j.B air combos can maybe go away as well. Even in this version, you can keep the combos on the ground fairly easily. Now they're even making Hariken a combo tool (with hints that it builds the drill meter). If anything 6C > 6A > j.B may just be replaced. Something doesn't add up with j.B being slower and the only logical conclusion is that we don't know what's missing to explain this. And plus the move is already ass lol
  10. Can't be dumb if you've never been to the place on a weekly basis for 2 years. It is not rare for a fighting game player to come in, get told they need to buy something and they order a coke and stay there for 3-4 hours. Some that become aware of it or have it pointed out to them change their ways. That or someone who comes weekly who saves some money to come back next week It's also not rare to see any other customer come in and ask a pitcher right away, some food and order in the next 2 hours or leave. We've been "pushed" away because the two days that we are left with have been consistently those where the place is rather empty without the need of exaggerating the statement. It's both a commodity for us and them in a way. We spend less than average, but we'll be there on those dead days every week. Our meetup day was thursday and sometimes we'd be there on wednesday. Two days which you could not say the place was empty on a constant basis. Sometimes is, sometimes not. It's a lot of really small decisions that leads us to conclude either A) We're less profitable than the increasing expectations they have of customers B) A lot of decisions they've made don't benefit us as weekly customers and from our point of view can only think is to increase revenue from the other customers. Raising prices, reducing the amount of playable setups for us, arcade setups being changed, etc. All over the course of a few months, individually brought up. Pedro summed it up best. "It's a lot of things that aren't individually deal breakers, but added together". We don't know if there is actual intent, but the perception that we have is that of conflicting needs or of intent. At first, we understood taking a back seat on one of these issues, but when they added up... I hope all their changes work out for them, but I can make with one meetup at someone's place every 2 weeks rather than go there and spend 20+$ on a sandwich, fries and a beer. Hence why I don't want to go, not boycott or damn them to failure. I'll just save money and get what I need from netplay on my end I preferred as a weekly customer when I could get the above at around 15 or 18. That or when I could get ramen bowls and similar items at 7$. But again, I can argue and defend that during those days, foonzo brought in a lot less customers than it has been those past few months. Conflicting needs ~ So I move on. Simple as that
  11. It already is safe.... drill is +3 on lvl 3.... More push back just puts you closer to either C normal range. Currently, being out of 5D range is the dead zone where only micro dash attacks or 5D will reach...
  12. He posted a wrong statement and made an hyperbole about the character sucking. The most basic 101 false statement joke exaggeration just like Rachel losing EVERYTHING was a joke. That'd be a good thing if 5D > RC > 5D had too mush pushback. In the build, you can special cancel the thing... Fabhop goes further than 5D's initial forward momentum.
  13. 5D nerf was apparently a joke https://twitter.com/tkrnsan/status/497200853573328896
  14. remember though, this shit remains a loctest
  15. Cool shit http://m.neogaf.com/showpost.php?p=124288358 Hariken one hit?????????
  16. I don't speak much moonrunes, but hey Amane stuff? Please confirm 5D is special cancel on block!!! https://twitter.com/tkrnsan/status/497176355918725120 https://twitter.com/tkrnsan/status/497178218978217984
  17. Seijyuu now 236236D OOPS meant to post this in general. Don't know how to delete post halp
  18. t'as tu des plans pour d'autres jobs already?
  19. I'm down. Gambrinus c'était bien. Je suis aller le weekend passé, en allant à Shawi au Trou du diable et en couchant chez un ami qui habite à coté de la Barik. Not the revolution of beers, but thumbs up
  20. Add like half of my handle on that list, either De, or rQ or er, or DQ or I don't know As for the game being easy.... I'd say easy to quickly get the hang of??? None of the mechanics need to be learned to be held back upon picking it up??? Don't take too much of this for granted, we might have something for all fighting game "Sub" communities that's for all ages. If that fails, house meetups Kaeru lives there, I work near there. Let me know if you want something to happen because I'm down
  21. Yeah, it just has the animation of his 5B (Medium), it's also a universal input/mechanic.
  22. This may be a bit nuts/risky, but I think fighting with your back close to the corner is the best way to go about neutral. Bang cannot move above or below Amane with his multiple air dashes. You have your back to the wall His nails can reliably hit Amane in less situations. Even the D nail bouncing off the ground will go offscreen and you'll find yourself dealing with one of them rather than 3 Lacking an invuln anti-air or one as reliable as other characters, you can cover the space below and above yours much more easily. You have far less angles which you would need to cover using different moves. If you need less moves, it's less guessing. Sucks to guess when some of Bang's answers imply 3C fatal At need, having Bang nearby allows you to hop over him and stay out of the corner All the risks of being in the corner apply, but it makes it a lot easier to play a gameplan of jumping and falling with j.B, j.D, j.2B or even Gosei. If you try it midscreen, Bang's air movement allows to answer with nails. If you're in the corner back to the wall, it's a lot easier to predict whether Bang is in a position to throw nails or be under you. Do note, I've had very little experience with this idea as of the time of posting. But it seems to make more sense than dealing with neutral at midscreen
  23. I'll most likely only be there thursday. Going to main the Alesmiths in Brice's room Maybe Linne too even though you can't timeout in combos anymore. Still can in my heart BABY. Whatevs
  24. In followup to my post yesterday, if you condition an opponent to emergency tech this knockdown. Dashing up 2C after Raibu is nice. Across all the cast, it'll beat forward, quick getup, emergency (Gives meaty on the 2nd hit). It will lose to no tech and reversal options (Which I need to test). Against some characters, it is possible to even cover back rolls. It'll lose to delayed rolls though. The list below was made from one recording (Bang). That means with one timing to learn, it'll work on all 14 characters below Bang, Makoto, Tao, Hakumen, Ragna, Tager, Azrael, Amane, Jin, Arakune, Tsubaki, Rachel (Beats backwind back roll, loses to forward wind), Kokonoe, Platinum This may be possible against the other characters as well, but the timing would be different. Either that or you can't cover both back and forward rolls. I didn't test this, but I'd learn this timing because it still covers emergency tech, forward rolls and quick tech. Learning a different walk distance for maybe a few of the 12 missing characters would be hard to get consistently. That or I would think just do something else (Hariken stance) if you REALLY want to call back rolls As for wake up options, I don't know which back dash this may or may not cover. It covers upback. I'll have to test reversals so we know stuff like "Bang has 50, too risky". This may seem obvious, but since you'll meaty 2C, you can do stuff like use super against wakeup 2D from Noel. You recover in time. The followup combo will always be to input 5C and react from there with 6C or 3C/5D if this is a standing confirm. That's all for today, I'll go test this stuff in matches
  25. The only problem I see with 2C and trying to condition an emergency tech is that someone smart will more than likely change their tech habits only on the setup he recognized. If I get hit by 2C bluebeat, I'll only change my habit the next time I see the exact same combo. But from Raibu... I doubt you could have some rapid + drill stuff going on or that you can get anything more than meaty 2C/catch forward rolls. I'll have to test it out, it's more of a prediction based on how the move works. You do get it after Gosei since RC into 6D works against emergency tech
