  1. Yeah pretty much, video game music show with orchestra and a little variety. For instance, I don't know if they still do it that way, but for a contra song, one dude would come on stage with a guitar and play the theme like a solo.
  2. I know I JUST made some promo for the even this thursday, but half the community is currently in an exam week or at the end of the current messed up semester. I'm still down to run the event, but at this point, wouldn't it be just better if we started this on sunday instead for players who simply cannot attend. Just throwing the idea out there, I'll still come down and play thursday.
  3. My original plan was to just use what's available to me. There's a website that has printable brackets for the amount you wish/plan to have. Though, I'm not gonna stick to my original plan if we have a comp tu run us the bracket automatically or have a stream. Also, I'll try and polish a bit the xSplit plugin I've been mentionning, it's ready for use and we could test it out that evening if you have a stream.
  4. Got it. http://www.facebook.com/events/496487963704047/ Please note that the above is what happens when you have spare time at work :3.
  5. Of course, it would only feel natural for me to promote and support the games I play, but the importance I'll accord to every game will most likely go as follows : 1. P4A, My game. Nuff said. 2. BB, The game I feel is mostly played and heck I could always join in on the fun with deprecated BB:CT online warrior tactics 3. GG and KOF, like you mention GG feels pretty small and KOF as yet to actually kick off. Though they're both games I'd love to at least understand and learn enough stuff to hold some ground in casual play With that being said, I'll be at Foonzo thursday this week most likely before 8 and will run the first event and see how it goes. Tentative run of the whole thing. Though since a lot of the players have been busy, I'm expecting 8 man or 16 man bracket. I'll let my lunch break tomorrow sort out all the details and shenanigans like facebook events and what not. Also, for those going to T13, if you havn't looked for an hotel yet, me and kr3w just lightly looked at what was offered and for what price. There's the obvious choice of the hotel right next to the venue (hilton), but besides the 5 minutes walk, the price goes up to 200 the night. If we have to split into 2 rooms, it'll be pretty ridiculous. We checked for alternatives at say 100~150 for the night and they all seemed to be at a 20 minutes drive from the venue. Kr3w told me there's apparently public parking right in front of the venue for something like 20$/day. Just juggling options here Last but not least, I might (MIGHT) get my parent's car for the NEC weekend. I can't confirm ATM and they'd be super generous, but it might just happen.
  6. I talked to Nini saturday, he'd be down to learn/play it saying it was the most legit shit out there. Hatman would be down to play, I'd do it, you and I've seen twice in the last week the same two players taking a cab just for KOF13. It's no major community, but heck we can get something going if we push it EDIT TO AVOID DOUBLE POST: I was about to buy myself a Kitty board dual mod for sticks as recommended by Kaeru. Problem is that the stocks at what I think is the official site (godlikecontrols) are depleted. Does anybody have any alternative for dual mods?
  7. Well Pedro, Pierre was using printed brackets at the tournament saturday and he told me where to get them, this will simply fix all my issues I had with running weeklies. I wasn't sure on how to assemble brackets, now it is fairly easy if you just print them upperhand. I mean, a 16 man bracket can be made in 5-10 minutes. So, I will most likely just run a tentative weekly/bi-weekly thing like 1 game this week, the other one next week. I still like the idea of the monthly event, but even very simple weekly events should get people more hungry than casuals for a whole evening. At least I want to satisfy my recent hunger with upcoming events such as T13 and NEC. It'll be simple though, no stream, no falshy stuff, just an ordinary bracket being run for fun and variety. I don't know if I'll start this week, but I'll see to that before thursday. Oh and don't be surprised if the first game I run for these is P4A because it will be. EDIT: Little detail to be added, I'm even down to run KOF events since people have caught interest back in that game enough to form a very small community.
  8. At post above ^ Not a bad idea, but I was thinking of maybe bringing them back. I wouldn't mind trying my shot at organizing little tournaments. Few problems are, I tend to leave the place early and I wouldn't have the equipment to help me run the tourney. That means, napkin brackets and no stream (at least for now). It may or may not be ranbats, but I know I can afford to at least make some sort of bi-weekly event of some sort. Mind you, I don't know how commited I'd be with this, but just throwing the idea out there that I have time and wish to bring my contribution for the community.
  9. Yo guys, I'm interested in going to major events and all, but I'm so unfamiliar to it that I'd feel more comfortable easing myself in. So you guys are all hype about NEC, I would be too, but it seems like it's a rush ATM as Brice said. Here come the unfamiliarity problem, what commitment is needed in terms of money, preparations and everything you'd consider useful for me to know. This would also help me in preparations for T13 that I plan on attending. Other than that, I have one last direct question regarding this. Since you need people to confirm ASAP, what's the deadline you'd give for confirming my presence.
  10. Interested in coming to T13, could PROBABLY manage getting my parent's car too. Kr3w and I talked about this and I think it's safe to say we would both be down to make preparations for the event.
  11. I just watch the SMP loops and how they work. My only problem is that you mention it requires 10 hits, but in some combos, the 10th hit is the first 236B. Does that mean that you actually need 9 hits or am I having trouble counting. Could there be moves that count as 2 hits (IE snipe vs. Snipe 5th hit) or 2.C (Fully charged) being different than 2.C So if the 10th hit is 236B, will it still work or is there something I'm missing...
