So I've been wanting to play Venom for years but I find him incredibly daunting. Is there a good place to start with him? Maybe some basic bnbs, some simple ball formations, some general tips for normals, oki, charge tricks, etc. I feel like if I can just get into the basics of the character I can slowly stack on more and more info until I can actually be fairly competent. If you guys know of any posts, videos, or whatever that you think could help I would greatly appreciate it. One of my favorite fighting game characters to watch and it'd be amazing to finally play him.

Hey guys, was wondering a few things about Faust. When you come down from a blocked j.2K what is your general game plan? Do you just wait and block? Do you hit any particular buttons? Backdash or IAD away? I'm curious cause I see a lot of Faust players doing things as they land as if they're plus but generally in my games it rarely goes that way for me. I was also wondering if you're playing against someone who likes to hit buttons on their wakeup what's the best way to punish this? I'm still getting my timing down on when to start pressuring as they're waking up and more often then not they end up hitting me out of a 2K or j.2k, Just curious if you guys have any setups or general rules that you go by when dealing with people who hit buttons more often than they should. EDIT: I have one other thing thats been bugging me, when you hit a jump normal what is a good normal to follow it up and still maintain a combo when you land? I've been trying to use 5K but I'm curious if there's some other way to more consistently get followups off jump in attacks or iad hits. Thanks!

Hey guys I just started playing GG and am learning Faust. Was wondering what are some go to block pressure strings, setups? I see Nage uses 2K a lot and cancels into various things like jc j2k, 5hs, pogo, 5p/2p, etc. I'm curious about block pressure, what are some of the most common block pressure strings you guys use? Would love to know how to keep pressure up. Also what is the logic behind 6 HS? It's an overhead but it's slow and unsafe right? Does it grant massive ch combos? Otherwise it seems really risky but I see nage do it every now and then. Also his "command grab", any obvious setup for that or block pressure into it? Just trying to grasp my head around his pressure and his offensive options. Thanks!

Has Relius always been able to cancel 2b into 5b? I know he can do 5b to 2b but I didn't know it could go the other way, only recall seeing it CP vids I've seen but I have just recently started playing/watching this game and character so I am probably mistaken.

Not sure where to go since the Q&A thread is closed so I guess I'll come here. How do you catch people who jump a lot? During your strings, on wakeup, etc? Also how do you cofirm off when you get hits from j.B j.C and 4D? Or any other thing that might be confirmable from the air. Thanks.

Interesting, did not know Relius was so unpopular.

Yeah, I've kinda settled on Rachel as my "trap" character. Amane actually looks pretty interesting, I'm not really into most of his stuff but I like his drills. Azrael reminds me a lot of Kanji, with the jacket hanging off his shoulders, chair followup, his sweep, manlyness, etc. - Litchi and Arakune drove me nuts when I played Tager in CT. But that comes with grapplers in air dash fighters, just gotta remind yourself you only need to get a hit to turn it around. Learn to enjoy blocking mixups. EDIT: Just got Extend in the mail, finally get to mess around with some of the newer characters.

I think SF4 came out and reinvigorated the fighting game genre and it kinda opened my eyes again to the fact that these games existed. I believe I bought BB:CT because I was watching Wolfys stream on Justin.tv and I saw really unique character designs from what I was used to and really beautiful art. So after watching it for a bit I went out and bought it and started learning Tager, because the speed of everyone else was overwhelming at the time(being my first fighting game that I was actually going to try and learn somewhat). I bought CS when it came out but literally never touched it after a day or two, don't know why but I just had no passion to learn it. Something else probably had my attention at the time as well, I didn't post on any fighting game site, didn't have anyone on my list who played fighters and I just never came back to it. I kind wanted to pick it up again when Valk was released but was too cheap and unmotivated to.

Well the best examples of characters I'm thinking of when I say trap are Cyrax from MK9, Naoto from Persona and Testament and Venom from Guilty Gear. They have a mixture of zoning and rushdown. They set up traps and use those to start pressure, mixups, put up more traps, zone, create space, etc. Out of these Venom is really the only one who doesn't have anything that stays out for too long. Other than that ball super and the ex black pool balls that hit several times and the ones you can bounce off the ceiling once or twice. I've only really played Naoto and Cyrax though. Cyrax had command grabs, bombs he could set in three spots on the screen, a net he could catch jumpers with and massive damage off any net. I love Naoto even though people say she's a weak trap character because she has traps that she can leave in the air or on the ground and send out her persona to lock down someone and shoot her gun in 3 different angles to also zone but at the same time she has some fun unique rushdown and high damage with meter. Same as Cyrax. Testament is very similar to Naoto, much better from what I hear but I hate his character design both appearance wise and his weapon. - I'll probably learn Tager(grappler, learned him in CT), Hazama(looks cool, like his movement) and a trap character. I don't really like the appearance of Mu or Rachel but they do have things I like in terms of the stuff they put on screen. Rachel always kinda intimidated me with her wind mechanic when I was much worse at fighting games but I think I could manage it now. Arakune doesn't interest me much at all but I like the smog and bugs, pretty much any sort of projectile that persists on the screen for a longer period of time is important but outside of that I don't have too much interest in him. - Also, if they have a non obnoxious purple color that helps too. :D

Characters on my radar then, Rachel, Mu and Arakune... possibly Platinum.. I hear she has items.
-
Mu looks interesting, forgot she exists cause you have to unlock her in CS. Not sure how those orbs she drops on screen work but I like putting shit on the screen and having it affect people for extended periods of time or create obstacle courses for people so I'll have to look into her.
-
Hmmm, I never really liked Rachel too much but I guess she does have some traps she throws on screen. I still have CS so I guess I'll mess around with her in that. Most of the BB cast bores the hell out of me when I look at their tools and mechanics. I'll keep an open mind though.

Looking for someone similar to Naoto, Venom or Testament in BB to get me interested. Not too aware of the newer characters added after CT so if anyone knows of a trap character or someone close that'd be pretty swell... pretty swell indeed.

Interesting, I'll look into them. EDIT: I'm very tired but I just realized you gave me gender traps, I meant characters that utilize traps similar to Naoto or Testament. -

Random question, not familiar with most the characters in BB but are there any trap characters in it?
