  1. If you guys want teams, please let the Guilty Gear ladies know and/or post here! We're really glad that they could step up and organize GG again The game deserves it. Esp with the re-release coming. All official games will have Finals on Sunday, incl. Persona. But the pools will finish Friday night. SB is very organized -- each pool won't take more than 3 hours to finish (prob more like 2 hours).
  2. EVO SF4 champ Infiltration from Korea is confirmed, as is EVO champion Mad_KOF. That bring us to 6 countries confirmed for SB. We will officially add to that total soon. Also, we've joined the competitive GG group on Facebook and trying our best to get everyone ready for Guilty Gear!
  3. ATLUS is now a proud sponsor of Season's Beatings! They've been great to deal with and are even giving us some prizes to give away at SBa, in addition to making sure we're fully equipped to run a huge Persona 4 Arena event. AND of course their support of MadKOF, world champ, coming to SBa!
  4. Sorry to hear about the last BB tournament. Was that last year, 2011? One of the benefits of the new venue (although everyone will miss Momos) is that it's HUGE and we can accommodate everybody's games WAY easier. We can run a 2nd stream and run more games, esp side stuff. We've heard so much hype for P4A that we made it an official game right up there with SF4/MvC3/TTT2/KOF/DOA5/SCV/ST. And I'm glad its fans spoke because with the job Cross Counter and Atlus and others are doing with the game, we feel like it's gonna be a strong tournament game for quite awhile. Keep spreading the word! Follow us for updates at @gdlkEnt or the SB facebook page. We'd glad you guys love the game and are supporting -- in return we'll give you one of the world's top tournaments. Also if there are any Facebook groups we should post in to get the world out over GG and P4A, please help us out there and share!

In 2010 we even chalked on a pot bonus and ran GG as an official tournament game to try to keep the scene strong, and run BB officially as well. This year, we have 8,500 sq. ft. of space to not only run Persona 4 Arena as an official, scheduled and pooled 8-setup tournament game, but to have Guilty Gear or Blazblue return as hype side tournaments as well. We are in talks with Atlus and hope to have official news regarding P4A very soon. I definitely have an organizer for GG if there is enough interest. If anyone is interested in running BB, please let me know and we'll do all we can for you in finding the best time and ways to run your events, too. We will have a general-purpose side stream going to, so there's a strong possibility of getting your finals streamed and recorded too, we just have to hash it out. IT HAS BEGUN: A new chapter opens in FGC history as we rise from the ashes of our beginnings and ascend to stratospheric heights, with a new venue and more epic events. It's a kumite starring everyone, from traveled world warriors to local living room champions, all traveling to Ohio to witness and be a part of history and to show their competitor’s heart. SB will never be about carnival gimmicks, pats on the back or photo opportunities for ourselves. Since 2006, we’ve simply strived to bring you the one of the world’s best arenas to square off against friends and rivals alike, alongside godlike special events and an unmatched atmosphere. And as long as you enjoy it, we’ll keep doing it. Now, prepare to FIGHT! Pre-Registeration: going live August! From our Undisputed Heavyweight Marvel vs. Capcom 2 showdowns, to the Daigo-in-Ohio invasions of 2009 and 2010, to last year’s creative and unprecedented Good vs. Evil Phoenix 5v5 at SB:Velocity, we (so many SB participants) have built a lifetime’s worth of memories at that beloved, unique venue. Unfortunately, as of 2012, Godlike Entertainment must look to the future as Momo2 announced its closing as of August. Momo2 gave us an amazing six years; it was synonymous with our event. But the heart of SB is YOU, the players who travel from around the world to experience the riotous, uberhype SB atmosphere, and the way we run our event will not change. We’ll miss our old home, but we look forward to bringing you the SB experience with upgraded surroundings: *8,500 sq. feet of space *In-venue food and adult beverage lounge, open until 2 a.m. *Across the street from some of a major U.S. city’s most famous and hottest hangouts, offering award-winning sandwiches and hundreds of beers, even with on-request shuttle service to drive you back to your hotel. *Indoor pool, sauna How much? For now, post up or contact Chris or Harmon through email (askgodlike@gmail.com), PM, Facebook page, or Twitter (@gdlkEnt) with questions/feedback/advice. SRK PM is NOT the most efficient way to get ahold of us because of how quickly our inboxes fill! Thank you for supporting Season's Beatings year after year and keeping it one of the world's largest -- and still grassroots -- Fighting-Game Community events.
  7. Thanks everyone for your interest in SB -- we'll do our best to keep you all happy and give you casual space as well. If you have direct questions you want answered fastest, best way to get ahold of us is through the Season's Beatings Tournament Series facebook page or at gdlkEnt on Twitter. Thanks! Also, should go without saying but definitely bring your controller for either game, esp for GG, as HRAPs and other Playstation 1-2-compatible sticks are at a premium these days.
  8. I know there was already a thread up, but I figured something official (with registration and schedule) would be good for Dustloop. Is it possible to migrate the first post into the other thread, or the other thread's replies into this one?
  9. The GG and BB tournaments will be run on the main floor -- it's just that we the SB staff will not personally run them. You can nab casuals whenever and wherever you can, but yes, definitely the tournaments will be fun on the floor.

We will have 4 ASUS monitors available for your use all day/evening. I've already been in touch with community members who pushed hard for us to add GG and BB into the schedule, and we're definitely happy to host it for you guys. I'm personally happy to see that support and love of the games you play. We will most likely be using the karaoke rooms for casuals, so you can nab those on site on tourney off-hours. This is our LAST year at Momos, and you guys have been amazing to us over the years. NEXT YEAR we will have way more space at our updated site! Please register as a spectator through our website (just venue fee) if you're attending SB and not playing any of the games listed there, as we have to CAP the venue size again (which we won't have to do in the future -- that's the reason for the move). Walk-in registrations might be possible at an increased fee but this event will most likely SELL OUT in advance. Everyone registrant gets a free gift that is cooler than a lanyard that you're never going to use again, too, and we will have other prizes you can win as well. We hope you'll come out this year and SB will continue its tradition of great, hype tournaments for ANY game supported by a traveling community. And if you hang out to watch the events, we promise that it's one of the experiences the FGC has to offer. Hope to see you in October! And THANK YOU to the DL community for the "In Real Life" award for our work since 2006 with Season's Beatings! If you have questions, you can post here but it will be much faster to hit us up on our Facebook or Twitter page. Thanks! ------ Last year 700 players from 40+ states and a half-dozen countries, along with hundreds of thousands of viewers, watched Daigo rescue Team World from defeat with an unforgettable flourish (10:45) at Team U.S.’s hands in a 5-on-5 extravaganza. Justin Wong achieved Redemption against his Evo 2010 nemesis, Gamerbee -- but in the end Gamerbee in turn Redeemed himself and won the 412-player SSFIV tournament. 11. This is true that there should have been top 2 from each pool. I'm sorry I didn't talk to Zinac about that beforehand. Also in the future, if the players know some shit is not right, please ask to speak with the pool runner or the TOs before irreversible things happen. I was made aware of this by Chase himself after the first pool had been played out. Now that I think about it, I probably could have figured out a way to run normally from that point onward even with the first pool being what it was, but I didn't think of a solution at that time, so I really apologize to the players on this.
  12. Hey guys, we're really sorry about not getting GG and BB much stream time. Please stop blaming Spooky -- it was all our decision (Fugee and me) regarding what was going on the stream. Doing arcade this year killed us -- 3rd Strike on Friday took 4 hours to start because it took 4 hours to get the machines finally properly working, since we would fix one thing and another would break. Mr. Biscuits, I respect what you're saying but you just keep saying that "Spooky was only hired to do Marvel and SSFIV". No -- we wanted to get everything we could on the stream like I've said since the beginning. The problem is ONE stream is not enough for a tournament like ours and now we know. We couldn't even stream arcade ST even though we had the equipment because Marvel had to go on early because some of the West Coast had to get on early evening planes, and yes Marvel is a signature SB event. That completely screwed the stream schedule on Sunday. I'm really happy UMK3 was able to get set up. If you guys think that a 94-man tournament (BB) was like some kind of afterthought to us, you're mistaken. That's a pot of $940 and it got more attendants than Marvel (about 85). But bottom line is everyone wants their game streamed and to get attention and I feel that. 3s didn't get on even Sunday for loser's finals/GFs -- Spooky wanted MB on Friday and we couldn't do it -- ST was a $50 entry arcade tournament with a KILLER bracket and was meant to be a HUGE showcase for ST, like how people got into UMK3 after ECT2 this year, and it literally got ONE GAME streamed in the grand finals featuring the world's most famous fighting-game player versus an Ohioan, when I was hoping we could stream it most of Sunday morning. Spooky was really awesome for us -- they respect the players and TOs alike, big games and the small games, and were willing to do everything we asked them to try. I hope everyone coming out had a good time -- SB is just too big for one stream. This was our first year taking an active role in running the stream so Fugee and I learned a lot, and I know Spooky did as well. Obviously we care about the small games because why else did we throw in $300 for GG, a game that a lot of people consider to be dead? If anyone took footage of GG (UMK3 and ST brought a tripod they used all weekend just for their games) please let me know and we can showcase it on our channel with all the other SB stuff. Thanks guys!
  13. Would the TO of BB please contact me? Or if you are willing to run and bracket BB, please talk to me as well. BB will definitely have to run in an area bigger than the bowling area, so Sunday we not run BB in the bowling alley. It's 80 or 90 people. We will have an area big enough to accommodate it though!
  14. This was announced PS3 at the time of the tournament after BB playing making it clear that was absolutely the preferred version. Regardless if the 360 is now considered better or something we can't change that 1 week before hearing something different about the versions. If there's a split the community it's unfortunate but this is what we have to roll with guys. Thanks to all who registered! If it's possible to reopen for last last min reg we might do so, but PLEASE do not ask until we make an announcement one way or the other.
  15. Whatever ver you guys play on -- I assumed AC-plus, yeah No HDMI -- CRTs for everything Just a few days left to register!
  16. It has nothing to do with SSFIV, it has to do with we have too much content for one stream. Saturday we'll have SSFIV, UMK3, XvSF and Marvel all running through the day, plus GG, plus the U.S. vs. International SSFIV stream. My concern isn't getting SSFIV players glued to their PC all weekend, it's about highlighting as many games and players as we can. Basically with GG/BB, it was either give you a whole area all to ourselves or put you in the mix with the Capcom/arcade and not have a smoothly run tournament, since we wanted to promise all the GG/BB players dedicated space that won't be interfered with or moved around, as the other games will be forced to. I hope everyone understands. If someone can record one of the main GG stations we will help get you set up. We're putting up extra cash and giving you the area to thank the community for all its support over the years. Thanks Zinac! He has volunteered to run Guilty for us so I'm confident we're going to have a GREAT Saturday with plenty of time for times. Also a reminder that we are in def need of dedicated BB and GG stations, esp BB. If you bring a complete setup that we use in tournament, you will get a free Season's Beatings: Redemption shirt for helping us out. We don't have a lot of OH BB players please bring systems, and if that's absolutely not possible PLEASE bring us a copy of the game. IN response to casuals: we will have BYOC rooms in the karaoke area for anything we can't have on the floor, so as long as BB players are here on Sat you should be able to run in there.
  17. Cmon dude -- do you think we'd be putting $$ on all these sides games and arranging arcade tournaments if we were only streaming Super? The problem with GG/BB is it's in a section way far away from the main stream area, but that's the compromise we had to make to get GG/BB all its own space away from the other games, which are all Capcom-centric. But this way we don't have to use any of the GG/BB stations for any other games so you're getting guaranteed tourney/casual space that no other game is getting. We can stream GG Top 3 if the Top 3 players want to want until Sunday though. In case that happens, will anyone going be willing to provide color commentary for GG on the Top3 stream?
  18. Registering under one card is fine, you just have to make it clear who is being payed for each time during the registration (Name, GamerTag, etc)
  19. Vyers, thanks again for the advice. As a reminder, there will be a set area for GG all day Saturday (where Smash was last year, bowling alley), which will switch to BB for Sunday. So whatever you want to do in terms of the GG Team Tourney, you can do after singles, it's up to you all. We REALLY need equipment guys -- mostly systems. If you're able to provide CRTs that's extra great, but mainly systems/games. I hope you'll be able to help us out to make this exxxtra serious. We will be streaming a LOT because of how much hype we're putting on the older games. We will prob leave it up to the GG players whether they want to finish singles Saturday or wait to stream Top 4 on Sunday -- because we don't want to mess up your groove or anything, I know some tourney players just want to finish and not wait to stream. btw -- SIX days to register! No on-the-spot registration because we're making brackets in advance and keeping the tourneys starting on time.
  20. Yeah I don't think Kenji can make it, which sucks. He's pretty awesome
  21. Hey guys -- TWO WEEKS!!! Thanks to the guys traveling from clear across the country for putting your faith in SB. We really wanted to give GG a big event so we're hoping it pans out. Please try to get anyone on the fence out here for the hype.
  22. I think Sean H WILL be there Saturday evening, so he might be able to do it. Singles is the concern.
  23. Thanks for the support guys! btw, Sean H cannot run GG unfortunately, so we need a new trusted member of the community to run GG and make brackets (which will need to be done Monday-Wednesday before the tourney). Please contact me if you're interested or know who we should approach. Thanks so much! I believe BB is covered still.
  24. She said no -- Daigo is only focusing on SSFIV these days (he's playing Super Turbo as his only other game our request to participate in the event). We are only taking pre-pay money for singles -- team tournaments will have to be arranged and run by the community and have money taken for them at the event. EDIT: I updated the OP with some news on how to get your University Plaza rooms
