  1. Stickbug -- we're going to play it by ear. SSFIV will have a cap of 512, but that's the only emergency cap as far as tournies go.
  2. GS Sean for coming through when we and the community need you!
  3. Sorry for the delay on the pre-pay and news site -- it should be up this weekend. Reminder that SB:R WILL SELL OUT and please register at your earliest
  4. MB is an East Coast game, but because we are more an EC tournament than MW (because of Fugee and how Marvel and its players built up the tournament each year) we def will be running Melty as a side on Friday night, whoever from the scene ends up running it.
  5. Schedule is done, pre-reg site will be online by end of weekend hopefully. Will update the OP soon: GG singles start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, so you can run teams after this is over BB is Sunday at 11 a.m. I fought to get GG on Saturday instead of Friday night and BB given the timeslot it needs to not be rushed. Full sched: Schedule (will update OP soon). Pre-reg site is nearly ready, should be up sometime this weekend. Friday SSFIV Teams (32-team cap) - 5 p.m. X-men vs. Street Fighter - 7 p.m. 3rd Strike 3v3 teams - 8 p.m. ++ Side games ++ Saturday SSFIV - 11 a.m. Guilty Gear - 1 p.m. Marvel - 4 p.m. Sunday Blazblue - 11 a.m. Super Turbo - 11 a.m. UMK3 - 11 a.m. Top 4 in each game Top 8 in SSFIV
  6. Our schedule is nearly finalized, as is the pre-pay site for registration. BB will most likely be Sunday morning because it's running on PS3 and may get big, so it will get its own attention/systems away from SSFIV best this way. GG singles (the official, pre-paid tournament) should be starting early Sat to leave time for teams afterwards which I'm sure you guys also want to run. Marvel/GG/SSFIV pools will each be running Saturday, and then Super Turbo we will prob start in the afternoon as well.
  7. If there's no unified GG tournament format I'm going to put singles on the pre-pay site as the official tournament, since it's so much easier to run, bracket and collect $$ for, then you guys can figure out the team tournament you want to run afterwards.
  8. We'll give venue discounts for setups just like every year, so please be willing to help us out guys. There are more Playstation 3's out there than ever and we will def need them. We have a number that we know we can count on, but we need as many as possible. GG stations will be needed as well.
  9. BB is running for sure, and it will be pre-pay so we can arrange the pools in advance. GG is most likely running on Sat, along with Marvel and SSFIV. Here are two possible schedules: Friday------------------------Saturday-------------------------Sunday SSFIV teams-------------------SSFIV early (10 a.m.)-----------Top8s/Top 4s/Chill XvSF--------------------------Marvel afternoon 3s-----------------------------GG early ST-----------------------------BB early evening UMK3 Unofficial tournies (T6, HDR, TvC, Melty) And the other: Friday---------------------------Saturday------------------------Sunday SSFIV teams------------------SSFIV early (10 a.m.)-------------Top8s/Top 4s/Chill XvSF---------------------------Marvel afternoon------------------BB early 3s------------------------------GG early--------------------------ST early, instead of Sat Unofficial tournies-------------ST late afternoon (T6, HDR, TvC, Melty)---------UMK3 BB could also run Friday night. So BB is gonna have to be mid-afternoon/early evening Friday, mid-afternoon/early evening or Sunday morning.
  10. The prepay can go live once we pretty up the old site AND we confirm the schedule for everyone. I expect it'll be done soon, hopefully this weekend or latest by next weekend. I'm planning on GG teams unless you guys want singles as the main -- it really is up to you all, so voice your opinions (and get other GG players to do so) so we know we're making the best choice. You do 3v3 teams, not 2v2, right? In that case on the pre-pay site you'll have to pay by team so we can bracket it beforehand correctly. We'll have to figure out the best way to do this, esp since we might have to do similar for SFIV teams.
  11. About 3 a.m., 4 a.m. max. I'd rather not have a repeat of SB3 though where we were running SC4 until 4 a.m. However since we have ALL pre-pay and no walkins, we can split BB into pools this year if we get similar #'s to last year, making it easier to manage. Plus players will know their pool start time.
  12. So Fugee and I need to decide where BB can go -- either late Saturday (6 p.m. or so), after SSFIV is mostly over, or Sunday morning. Because GG is an official game it'll be Saturday morning, like 11 a.m. We'll be posting the full schedule soon. BB is the main sticking point for us to figure out
  13. So teams will be our official GG tournament if that's what works best. I'm adding BlazBlue officially. We're pretty close to posting the schedule -- I think GG can be Saturday (leaving you time for singles after) and BB Sunday. But we have to confirm it first. P.S. I asked Daigo's manager if he'll be playing in GG.
  14. Man, you guys are cutthroat. I can't give the exact schedule yet but as soon as Fugee and I get it on paper we'll announce it. I want it done for sure by beginning of next week. I'm 99% we're adding BB so I just need to talk to Fugee first tonight.
  15. Yeah, it's gotten enough requests that I think we will really soon. I want to talk to Fugee first though to make sure of when to run it, since SSFIV is going to eat so much time/stations. I really just wanted to make sure that the game wasn't dead on arrival basically
  16. Well, I think either teams OR singles is going to have to be the official tournament. Beyond that I can say we'll try to get the other tourney done and leave you some hardware to run it (although it won't be as much space as the official one). I mean you'll at least be able to have 1-2 TVs I'm sure for the side GG tourney, and PS2s aren't taking away from the main PS3 tourneys or anything. We haven't finalized any stream plans or really even talked much about it yet, honestly. HOWEVER what I want to do this year is capture a lot of footage from ALL the official games, and some side stuff as well. My DVD guy gave me the idea of buying a couple FlipHD cameras because they have good quality and are relatively cheap. Tripods are cheap for them as well. We could distribute a camera setup to each game's community and leave them responsible for capturing matches, because even with the small production co. we should be working with, we don't have the resources to cover every game ourselves. Only downside on the cheapest HD flips is they only hold 2 hr of data, so we'd have a central setup for unloading footage (they unload fast). So we're looking at investing in these
  17. Yeah whatever we can do to help build up GG guys, let us know. We were pretty disappointed with the showing last year too. SB1 and SB2 had great GG tournaments and we want to give the community a really good time again like the old days SSFIV is going to be retarded huge, but because it's the older game we really love and have supported us for years, we're trying to make the small games just as hype. Spread the word, and let me know if there are players we should personally invite to get out here. ALSO I need to know if you guys want to do teams or singles as the main tournament. And we're looking to add BB:CS to the official games list, but we want to make sure it'll be supported on that level if we do. If anyone has ideas on how to build it up or players to contact, let me know please. btw, thanks for the pin, you guys are gdlk
  18. We're cool with Larry and he supports what we do, and vice versa, dunno what that comment meant. If you're just fucking around, sorry I didn't pick up on it. We're looking at adding BB:CS -- right now we don't know anything about the scene, and how successful BB:CS is gonna be at tourney level, so we need all the feedback/advice we can get. The $300 is going to be split between 1st/2nd/3rd. I'd love to get more cash on the game but that's all we can do -- that's out of pocket. Yeah, singles/teams -- that's up to you guys, let us know. For now it's singles, but if popular demand = teams that's totally cool with us. All we're trying to do is get GG out here strong!
  19. Oh yeah, I forgot he used to play. He agreed to play ST so I'll ask his manager about Guilty Gear. Feel free to give me feedback on the GG or possible BB tournaments, guys, we appreciate it
