Sorry to bring this up in the midst of Xrd excitement and whatnot, but has anyone tried posting on Yamanaka's twitter or anything? Last time, that's what it took to get him to own up to their horrible release planning. He made multiple tweets apologizing and admitting that certain regions were forgotten (even listing them by name). I don't have Twitter so yeah... just wondering. Does he even know that North American PSN players or Canadian (and most of Europe, if it's like AC's release) Xbox players don't have the update?

I disagree with that logic. Arc doesn't seem like the type to remove characters because they reused GGX sprites all the way into 2012. Of course they weren't going to give anyone the boot when the same assets could be recycled and periodically enhanced. Xrd isn't really in that situation. It'll be sad to see the roster get cut down since the design quality for all characters has been consistently high, but I'm expecting a few to get the axe. Just hoping it ain't Slayer. -
Did they at least fix some of the UI problems like not filling the screen correctly on 4:3 displays and the music options at the character select screen disappearing?

So is this strictly a friends list game only now? Does anyone even host public games anymore?

Okay, thanks. The reason I asked is because I thought people might have to be logged into a Japanese account to play their Japanese version of the game as per Sony's rules or whatever. I guess if people can change their location/language to anything and play whichever version of the game they have, I'm justified in using this information as a location indicator.

If somebody has the Japanese version, does that mean their PSN profile will show "Japanese" as their language? I usually base whether or not I play someone on that, since custom search is broken and quick match doesn't show the connection icon. I'm starting to wonder if I could get a playable connection with some of those people.

I feel like custom search works a bit more often in ranked than player matches (based on very limited experience though), so you could try that. But then you only get to play one match after what feels like hours of waiting. It's lose-lose, I guess. In addition to the actual issues, I think a rematch feature for player matches would be really useful. If not, it'd help if the character select screen could have your previously used character highlighted, and have the preferred colour set pre-specified like single player modes already do. Not a fan of GG's moving cursor and having to switch colour sets each time is annoying. I know that sounds lazy of me, but this port already wastes a shitload of time. In regards to the above post, I think software reset in general is removed from every old game that gets ported to the current consoles. I can't think of any examples where it has been preserved.

I think he means the Vita screen, which is +R since you can see the logo with the big R in the sidebars. Also the green health.

I don't have the game, but isn't the problem that there isn't a proper 4:3 mode? Or is that what this point meant?

PS2 had that, but at least they didn't take anything out. Hey, sometimes that does happen. Just wondering, how does the game handle "same region" filtering? Does it do it by country or continent?

So the NA release comes out on the Tuesday two days before the Japanese release? If not, it's more like 2 weeks...

Not the best example out there but: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mmvojQn6unE at 2:30 He doesn't get a chance to continue but I know I've seen it on regular Sol too, but I can't find the video. Today I also came across a video where someone did DoT FRC, then whiff j.H or j.K before relaunching. Not sure if they intended for it to hit or not. I suppose as long as you end up with something that leads to an air combo, it's not a big deal what you choose. Zaido: Thanks for the info. Sounds like it's about intuition and trail and error with no textbook answer.

General question about DoT FRC. Sometimes players FRC then j.K before they land, then follow with a relaunch like 5H. Other times they forgo the j.K entirely. How do you know whether or not to do that last-moment j.K? My current (mostly baseless) assumption is that if you're closer to the wall when you do the DoT, you'll cause their wallstick earlier so you need to FRC and j.K instead of waiting.

I think it's from the May issue of Tougeki Damashi(i?) magazine. I posted the same list a couple weeks ago. It even followed with a similar discussion about whether or not the order matters within each tier, and people were upset about Slayer being in A even though that's where he always is... except in the main DL list. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showpost.php?p=282845&postcount=904

I would imagine that characters in the same tier are supposed to be roughly equal as per my understanding of the term tier. I don't have the mag so I don't know if there was a matchup chart or a ranking with individual character scores that led to that list. The person from whom I got it from may have been incorrect (hell the entire thing could be made up), that's why I hoped someone else could confirm that it was actually in the mag.

Further proof that most GG players know hardly anything about 3S but love breathing that hot air about it for no reason. Not that further proof was even needed though. Are there any Japanese tier lists aside from N-Otoko's that have Slayer in the top tier? IIRC the May issue of TD mag had him in A. I'll just post the whole thing because I haven't seen it in this thread, the source wasn't very reputable so I hope somebody can confirm its legitimacy. For the latter two variations, is it preferable to jump cancel forward or straight up? In videos there isn't a lot of time to see it so I never noticed.

Sorry if this is redundant. I remember reading about jump install, but I can't remember where I saw it. How do you do a superjump air combo, then double jump? Like sj.H-2K, sj.K, dj.K or the like. AFAIK the game's rules forbid that, but a few people seem to be doing it. I tried double jumping normally but it doesn't do the trick. Thanks.

Anyone else having trouble logging in at Nico Video? When I registered about a month ago it worked fine, now it sends me to some page where I can opt to receive a link via email that lets me enter my password recovery question. Even when I do that and change the password, I still can't log in at all.

In the arcade version you hold start to get EX colours. But that means you can't get Slash or #R colours like on console.

Yeah sorry, I didn't write that very clearly. The method stated before includes the 9 at the end, so I assumed that all BDC mappas would require some jump cancel component, similar to when canceling from 5K or whatever. I'm not trying to cancel a normal into it though.

Even though it's not the right thread, does that mean BDC mappa isn't possible for those who cancel normals into mappa via 8236+P/K? For some reason I've always had issues doing TK motions, but I don't want to miss out on potentially important tools.

How do you do BDC jumps? Sounds exactly like the kind of thing I need since my defense is so weak. Escaping from those trickier lockdown characters is no easy task for someone who doesn't get enough casuals in. Is FD -> BDC jump a reliable way to escape from pressure? Thanks.
