1v1 FT10 room up. Invite up for grabs Edit: Just message me on XBL. I made sure Notifications are enabled so I'll see it. Edit 2: No takers? Welp, time to play Rock Band. -
^Can the feint be done while charging a fully charged 4C, or can the feint only be done on non-charge 4C? If it's doable on charge 4C's startup, I could see it improving that, if only VERY slightly. Currently, in addition to everything else about charge 4C being awful, it also requires commitment. This would at least make it so you can change your mind.
-
I'm really excited about this from a "man, that's really cool" perspective. From a competitive, "will it actually be good" perspective I'm kinda worried though. I've only seen it used in matches a handful of times. Seems like the feint's speed isn't so great.

Woah, that's not the argument I'm making or even participating in. I am well aware of Hakumen's strengths; I'm not trying to discredit them or say stuff like Kishin/Agito/etc isn't good, just that they aren't at good as people are hyping them up to be. My post was cautioning people who think Hakumen is the best char in CP to not repeat the same mistake they've made every iteration of Blazblue by tremendously overrating him early on, only to realize later, "Oh wait, fighting him isn't so bad!" Basically I'm trying to save them from the phenomenon scientists have termed "The Tager Assumption."
-
Or maybe they're familiar with the character since they main them, if for no other reason they experience and recognize their flaws first hand? It's easy to think, "Man, Hakumen is strong" when he's kicking the shit out of you and you have to figure out how to deal with his strengths causing that situation. But, it's immediately apparent what flaws he has if you're being forcefully introduced to them by a player skilled at correctly fighting Hakumen. The difference is having to figure something out on your own versus being forcefully taught it. Which one do you honestly think will be more readily understood? From here on this post isn't directed at anyone in particular: Speaking as a Hakumen main since day one, he indeed has flaws--but the act that he is played unconventionally compared to the rest of the cast doesn't mean they don't exist, it means you need to think outside the box created when you recognized the flaws of other chars. How about only blocking low if he's at less than three stars, only watching for 6B and throw gimmicks since that's all he's got at that point? How about mashing him out of hop whenever he has less than 2 stars, since there's NOTHING he can do about that without Hotaru? How can people get upset about counters, when other characters have moves that are 100% invincible on frame 1 to ALL attacks high/mid/low/throw, grant better reward, and are rapid-cancellable for safety? IB Inferno Divider is a-okay when all you can do to truly bait it is block and hope he doesn't have 50 or make it totally whiff (difficult/impossible depending on positioning), but IB counter, which has multiple ways to circumvent AND requires a correct high/low read for mediocre reward while in CH state the entire move--that's a deal breaker? (Note that I have no problem with counters or ID, just making a point about the hypocrisy here.) There are so many times I've played people with Hakumen and thought, "Man, how can they be letting me get away with _____? How do they not realize it?" Then I realize it's because they'd rather spend their time to logging into DL and soapboxing about how strong he is instead of going into training mode, recording the "strong" stuff he's doing and challenging it, then laughing when they realize how flimsy it is. His defense is okay, but his offense has ALWAYS been holier than Swiss cheese. Now they tipped that scale in the other direction, where his offense is strong and defense isn't as good, but no one seems able to see that. I guess it's hard to see anything though when tears are clouding your vision. tl;dr: mAc nailed CP Hakumen on the head. Get better.

...That I don't see because as I said, I browse Dustloop forums using the Tapatalk app. It can notify on PMs, but not wall posts.

The 2B thing is weird, I'd have to see it again, don't remember what happened. Regarding CP Haku, I'll tell you guys like I told Eshi a couple weeks back: he's overrated, calling it now. I expect him to slide down the tiers, probably not much (I'm guessing he'll settle at high-mid), but people thinking he'll be broken or even the very top? They're in full blown "jump to new game conclusions" mode. Kishin is good. Agito is good. Autogain is buffed. Nearly EVERYTHING else got nerfed, pretty hard in some cases. If it weren't for the obviously-unintentional j.A > j.2C > 5A loops, I'd go as far as to say he'd be a one trick pony, relying on Kishin "all or nothing" style, kinda like Arakune's Curse if that was actually balanced. I'll comment on the mirror later. At work right now

RIP AND TEAR I don't ever check my wall anymore. Too annoying to check on Tapatalk. If someone needs to reach me for something, just PM on Dustloop or Tweet me.

^If it's a loose connection with the battery pack try this: - Take a few small pieces of aluminum foil - Fold it multiple times for added thickness - Place a piece between the contact and spring of each battery Alternatively you could try a play and charge. Then again if it's been thrown something might have wiggled loose internally. -

GGs Mucky mAc: Up until the break I believe I was thinking too passively, lol. Lately it's been hard for me to get my head in the game, but coming back for the second half felt like I just got my shit slapped by the coach in the locker room. WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT, NOW GET BACK OUT THERE AND SCORE THOSE SCORES (at least I hear that's what they do in sports) Towards then end I scaled back a bit and played smarter, but the beginning felt like I was just "Ok, we're at neutral... Uhhhhhh GUESS" then I'd get CH 3C'd. -

1v1 FT10 room up. Anyone want to play? -
Try doing the 6A a hair earlier or substitute 5A or maybe 2A for 2B (I especially like 5A though since if they jump, you'll probably air unblockable them > 6A > wallstick loop for some free damage and meter). If you do the 6A too early, they can forward roll through you though, so be careful. Edit: the timing may also vary if you land the last 5C when they're too close to the ground, since they can recover/tech sooner. It's similar to how air hit 5C > 5C/2C combos work, the higher they are when you hit them, the longer it will take for them to get slammed to the ground, meaning you have a few more frames to do stuff.

Anyone. I regard effort and willingness to improve as being way more important than actual skill level. Every player can strive to better themselves regardless of how good they are, and even if someone isn't the strongest player, I'll still get matches with them. I've even made some good friends (a few of whom post here) after playing a set, noticing that they had heart, and sharing advice with them to help them level up. The deal breaker is if they DGAF about actually getting better. See: NejiMetriod, who I gave up on playing since he forever thinks counters are "cheap", ensuring that he'll never learn to deal with them correctly. His assumption that "Well if I can't deal with it, it's broken" serves as a self-imposed limitation; it's like, "Clearly they're unfair, so why bother trying to circumvent their strengths since that's impossible?" That attitude will get someone as far in FGs as swimming will in cement shoes. -
