The basic fundamental of blocking in this game is designed around using downback, and switching to regular block when necessary to block Highs. The vast majority of Lows are very fast while Highs are usually quite slow and risky. This is intentional. Once you master this you'll suddenly realize blocking has become much much easier. For instance Ragna only has two moves from the ground that hit High: 6B and Gauntlet Hades, which are both rather slow. Gauntlet Hades is also punishable on block. Knowing this, you can get used to just using downback as your default block, and switching to standing block when you see 6B or Gauntlet Hades. You might think this makes blocking way too easy, but that's why Throws are in the game. Also, you'll find that those "60+ combos" are really more like small variations of the same thing over and over again simply placed into different situations. It's definitely not necessary to remind every single tiny little variation.

AHHHHH MOTHERLAND! At first glance I thought this might have been a genuine Russian match finder thing. But on top of the stupid cat picture there's a bunch of links to random russian sites in the post. http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?16174-%D0%9D%D0%B5-%D0%BF%D0%BE%D0%BD%D1%8F%D0%BB-%D0%B8%D1%81%D0%BA%D1%80%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%BD%D0%B5%D0%B5&p=1491742#post1491742

Anyone who's ever made anything and wanted to make it good knows that 80% of the work is the last 20% of polish. Victory quotes make a nice touch. So do character-specific voicesets. All the little details add up to big value and do make a difference.

You know, I see a lot more of "what the hell I can't even fight back this isn't even fun I give up" instead of that, personally. I couldn't get my friend into this game for that reason.

I still just don't understand how people can be like "Yay I just bought this new fighting game! Main menu! I know, I'm going to go play online! Wow look at all those characters!"

Seriously what the fuck I'm playing in the middle of the night and I've gotten 3 complete newbies so far. Why are people still buying this game? I mean seriously like "I've played 0 games online so far." new-tier

If Argent is really a good Arakune then we must arrange some Tager vs. Arakune goodness.

I thought Argent was that red name Arakune. Maybe I'm confused with Arckas

[CP] News & Gameplay Discussion (Old)

Does anyone know if the JP versions come with English voiceovers? Only thing I'd be worried about would be being unable to understand Story mode. -

360A is invincible from the third frame. 360B has no invincibility but it's almost twice as fast, and recovers much much faster. Not to mention it does a good chunk more damage. Always use 360B to punish instead of 360A when possible. A key aspect of Tager is never failing to magnetize an opponent with your combo. You should never end a successful string of attacks without magnetizing them somehow. Without magnetism, you lose. (unless your opponent is really really bad) Get used to backstepping and punishing with a command throw. Get used to blocking on wakeup as well. That's right, blocking. Tager still has to know how to block things. You can only really improve this by getting MU experience with all the different pressure strings out there. Tager's 360A is a powerful tool for forcing opponents to make all their pressure strings gapless, which is usually not very difficult to block either. If they put a gap in their pressure, 360 or 720 their ass to oblivion. A lot of people hate Tager for this reason (they call it 360 spamming instead of asking themselves what they're doing wrong)

*bursts through the door* What is going on in this thread?
-
Just barely noticed this... I meant the time before that. I did j6D.C on oki and crossed you up on your wakeup and successfully hit you. Then I got 2D instead of AH. That's what I was mad about. I really didn't expect the wake-up AH to work.

Too bad his gamer pic isn't an angry black guy with sunglasses.

Don't suppose I should have expected much from someone with MLG in their name. I really wanted to 360A his 2C, but I guess I've learned my lesson.

The fuck am I the only one who saw that sprite glitch?
