  1. I will say that I love P4A to death and think it's a great game, but the balance is questionable at best, and the risk vs reward is busted as fuck. There's a lot of redeeming factors to me personally (mostly Persona characters and the fast pace) but it'd be silly for me to say there aren't glaring problems staring me down in it. With how some of the other community at large is (#RIP #DEADGAME #BEADICKABOUTFIGHTINGGAMES) it's easy to try to defend your game a bit too much. On GG, I recognize it's a more balanced and well put together game in a lot of aspects and I enjoy it quite a bit. Some other games I just like better at a different level.
  2. Asuka got way better in 2013 but her footsies are still so bad you need a partner that makes up for it. Julia/Asuka does not sound like the best of teams because Neither of them are going to be pulling enough weight in neutral. Ibuki might actually be the worst character in the game now :x
  3. See my ninja edit, I could be talking about something else ^^;. I'm a SF4 main so SFxT was something I broke in pretty quick and have labbed really hard to get optimal with, so I hope it gets a bit of ground. In Vanilla I used Yoshi/Lili or Yoshi/Sakura because of a meter neutral-ish vortex, but the meter got nerfed super hard in 2013 so I use Yoshi/Asuka now. The idea is this: Yoshi dances around builds a bar Yoshi does windmill TC to Asuka If it hits I get 500 damage, another bar, and dumb oki. If it's blocked I get a DP safe 50/50 with the same result. Asuka does a mix up for 500 more damage. If it hits I win, if not I TC into Yoshi and do it all again. It's not the best strategy because by themselves these characters are garbage and if they guess right twice they can win pretty easily, but it's meta as fuck and gets retarded Seth amounts of perfects.
  4. Launchers unscaling was actually a character specific thing in Vanilla SFxT iirc. I know for sure some were (like Lili's) that you could even do without a TC and most if not all of them were removed in 2013. I believe you can still salvage some scaling off a launcher but it's not worth the meter when you can do more optimal things. There's no way to get rid of the scaling and red health in 2013 off a boost chain period now, maybe some if you cancel the launch but then you're already way down in scaling anyways from the boost chain. Julia's best TC is her HP DP but her solo combo enders are actually really nice for set ups and decent damage. Edit: This is all what I know from Lili's unscaling launcher and a few others (why does Jin have this?) so idk if we're talking about the same thing now that I look at it.
  5. I study game design so I find MUs and tiers to be fascinating ways of evaluating the game and certain design elements. P4U is especially neat with it's small roster and a lot of the design choices being geared towards normalizing the cast as far as options go. So please, talk about it without getting heated with some reasonable stuff to say. I could talk about the poor, sad story of Labby or the hilarity of Aigis all day if need be but I don't think there's much to be said.
  6. I don't get the ratios either. When I look at something like Gief - Sagat it's a 3-7 on most MU charts but almost everybody agrees it's more like 8-2 but refuses to say it. Even the most extreme MUs like Blanka - Hawk or Hakan - Dhalsim people will say are basically unwinnable because one character nukes every tool the other character has, but it's still a 7-3 for some reason. I get not wanting to have huge disparities in MU charts, but it's weird to actually look at.
  7. I agree. I've been trying so hard to find anything with Labby and she just doesn't have enough to get creative or be effective with. I've noticed all sorts of new Liz stuff lately, she's definitely not up there but probably above where Lab/Kanji are at. Edit: I was also wrong about FE: Awakening at dinner, it's some thing that happens with Chrom -_-
  8. Well, I'll be at Kaos Theory and the MTNG tournament of course. Might mix up my characters a bit.
  9. Having to start weekly doctor visits for a bit and the day that was decided on was Saturday T_T I definitely can't come to GG this Saturday but hopefully I can get out early enough for the MTNG on the 16th.
  10. I'm pretty sure Milln said there was a MTNG planned for the 16th so that might be a scheduling conflict :x
  11. Milln: At Mtac I'll just run around and be weird. I can do the same thing at Final Round but also fuck shit up so I'd rather be there. Tad: I'm already all up in that game, so whenever you're here I can throw down. I got some nutso stuff you should check out.
  12. Yo, I'll be at FR for sure, but I'm not sure if my buddy is going or not yet so idk how that situation will work out. Chances are he is and we'll be looking for people to room/ride with. And I want to go to Chattanooga and hit up ZomB's place this weekend but transportation might fuck me :x
  13. I'm down to come do things if I figure out a way around this weekend, I need as much practice as I can get x_x (So many bad confirms). If Milln does end up going on Sunday I might take you up on the carpooling offer if that's cool. All of KiT Persona (Like, every single match) was recorded on twitch.tv/DPonWakeup
  14. If anybody from Murfreesboro is going to the Chattanooga event I can ride with I'd def be there.
  15. Hi Klein you sexy manbeast :D Moving on, my birthday is coming up on the 8th which is a Friday,. I'm not terribly into celebrating birthdays, but I am very into having excuses to get people together to eat food and play games, so a gathering at my place in Murfreesboro can be a thing if people want to come eat food and play games.
  16. Oh, also if anybody ever wants to netplay some Persona, hit me up on either console, I play on PS3 far more often though.
  17. Oh hey, I remembered my DL account >.> Anyways, I'll be at KiT Saturday with stuff and things.
