  1. I'm getting better at judging the spacing for the jump > flight mixup midscreen If you do -K- > dash jump K > dj.KH and your double-jump hits, what kind of efficient -S- combo can you do ? I thought -S- was really useful when hitting someone airborne or after a 2D to launch. (For now I still do -K- > dash 5P > 2D > unsummon, which isn't really powerful :p At least it pushes to the corner and let me resummon quickly) EDIT > my bad, tested yesterday, you can j.KHD or j.KSHD after a ground -S-. So I presume you can do -K- > dash jump K > dj.K(hit)H > -S- > j.KHD. But you lose corner knockdown.
  2. Thanks guys. Also, what are your options when your opponent blocks a -K- midscreen ? I tend to dash in 2P > 2K > 2S > -K- then dash in 2P > 2K again / DF to corner -D-. It pushes him to the corner, but is pretty limited. The first option empties Eddie's gauge quickly and I have a hard time unsummoning AND continuing pressure.
  3. Ok, I understand, so summoning Eddie with Nobiru from the puddle is more of an option to catch guys running or jumping, thinking you will summon in front of you. But that's not a safe option to let Eddie out. If the case happens, what can you do if the opponent blocks a H drill then a Nobiru from the puddle ? My Zato seems too far from him so Eddie gets killed before I can close the gap (but maybe I mess up the timing). Do you have time to dash in and land a normal before the blockstun of the Nobiru expires ?
  4. I'd love to see this thread develop the arcanes of Zato's neutral game. I'm relatively new to Zato too, and this is by far what I struggle the most with. In the corner I can now do basic -K- mixups to combos and unblockables, but when I summon Eddie midscreen I'm kind of lost :p Even when my opponent blocks a far drill and I summon Eddie on the puddle with Nobiru, most of the time I just don't know what to do after, and it turns out to be totally random and not-at-all-pressure-tight : ] Help and ideas would be much appreciated ! (thanks for starting the thread PerfectInput !)
  5. Man, this Faust's f.S seems sooooo strong O_o
  6. I wonder why the I-no players we saw in the latest videos don't use any RC like other chars... If HCL is considered a projectile, it should be YRCable, no ? Would be great to slow time > airdash after it :p
  7. Well, the technical barrier and the spectacular display of HCL 6FRC6 combos are one of the most appealing things with I-no, so it's natural to begin with it :p (actually that's why I started to play her) But it's just a part of her gameplay, and some other things are as important or even more important than that. I-no is fragile, and if you want to win, you have to master how to move well, how to defend well, how to break your opponent's guard and how to confirm into big damage when you have the opportunity.
  8. You can if you hoverdash and you hit 2S/2D just as you land. Hoverdash has an auto-jump install that's kept if you land without letting the stick be back to neutral.
  9. Johan > I would say, learn: - good movement, how to airdash after a hoverdash - some mixups after a knockdown + note (hover dash j.S > 2K, empty hoverdash into a low, empty hoverdash into a throw..., hoverdash j.S to another short hoverdash, etc...) - some counterhit combos, especially after 6H and STBT.
  10. DaiandOh > "Backspin on Stinger Aim S ! Stop ball on Stinger Aim HS ! Bishop run out ! How embarassing for these guys ! Who wants to learn ?" That's my own translation and I think it's pretty approximative :p And I don't know much about Venom so I don't understand what "stop ball" or "backspin" could mean : x
  11. Yeah, it's the stomp Overdrive. Not sure why the name has changed and what the correct reading is (in Japanese) :p
  12. Don't know if this was discussed before, but it seems that I-no's got a new move in her command list: 214H in the air, close to the opponent. The name is "Shôdoku method" (sterilization method XD).
  13. Apparently, Zato's Drills leave automatically a "shadow pile" when they disappear. And little Eddie can be summoned directly on the remaining shadow with 214H. Actually that's what I understand from the command list, but I'm not a Japanese expert :p Oh, and his new dragon move (623H) with Eddie out is probably some sort of throw. The command list indicates "with Eddie summoned, close to your opponent".
  14. Using the FRC: short gatling > 6H > FRC > throw (a very good throw setup ! Thanks Klaige) That apart, the guardpoint and the throw invulnerability are good to catch people mashing. You can cancel 6H into Shitsu or Fuujin. I may be wrong, but I think the main drawback of 6H is his long startup. If you do it too often, the opponent could backdash to make it whiff and punish.
  15. No, she just has one, like in #R. Intros and winning poses (and Faust's medical treatments XD) are fun, but where are the gameplay footages ? :'(
  16. Thanks Honnou ! I won't be home for the next 4 days, so there won't be any updates of the damage values until next week. But I'll keep going ! Also, I did'nt mention it, but I ran into some troubles to land some of the combos on Testa or Sol. I know Sol's hitbox can be a pain sometimes. Usually they work well on Faust. Don't know if my execution is in cause or it's just the combo is somewhat character specific.
  17. Wow, great job Mynus. For damage values, the first list of combos is almost done (and edited in the wiki), but: - I just can't do the DM HCL thing : x (well, sometimes I get it but I can't combo with 5P after it) - for the 9TNine combo (with the late airdash after high air VCL), I just can't get 2S > HCL to work. Is it a mistake, or does it really connect ? Apart from that, if the 6P happens midscreen, the opponent is pushed to the corner where you can go for c.5S > j.S > j.H > K Dive for 166dmg.
  18. Ok I tested some basic ones on Testa and Faust this morning, so I will probably update the wiki tonight. Oh, and just to be sure, there's one combo that seem impossible to me: j.D > dj.H > P Dive > air dash j.H > P Dive > air dash j.H > S Dive > c.S > VCL You can't get that second air dash after two jumps and an airdash, no ? Or did I miss something ? Do we just have to S Dive without airdashing ?
  19. How do we have to note the damage values for the combos starting by "Starter" ? I just tested the very first one on Testa with a lot of different starters, and the values go from 71 to 120.
  20. Now that AC+R is out almost everywhere, what are the "new" interesting blockstrings/frametraps for Anji ? I didn't really spend a lot of time studying the new version yet, but I can't really get a grasp of the buffs Anji has in its game at the moment. What I know so far: - you can do 6S > 3K (useful for red shitsu UB, and... ?) - you can cancel to 6H from almost every normal (why's that useful ?) - 5S raises the guard bar, and there's an easier 3S cancel
  21. To me this blockstring isn't safe at all. Your opponent will probably recover from 5H waaaay before you recover from the shitsu. I don't know if he has the time to counter you (GV with Sol, Stun Dipper with Ky, etc), but he'll probably escape your shitsu, ending your blockstring. I'm assuming you're playing AC and not AC+R (I don't have it yet so I don't know the new blockstrings with Anji). Anji is not a pressure monster at all in AC. Pressing with Fuujin could be an option but it's not safe at all (-16 on block). Ok, most opponents tend to stay on guard after a blocked Fuujin to see if there's a followup, which is good for you. But these followups are not what you could call a good blockstring: - P followup can be easily escaped (or even countered if your opponent is quick enough), ending your pressure. - K can be thrown easily. - S isn't safe unless you FRC it. - HS and D are really easy to counter with a low. So Fuujins are a very limited blockstring option, which you can use sparingly to vary your game. For the other options, 2K is +6 on block, so you can do something like 2P > 2K > quick dash > K > S, or 2P > 2K > quick dash > K > P stomp for example. If you know how to 3S cancel, you can do K > S > 3S cancel > S > HS (unfortunately the 5S doesn't raise the guard bar) or 2P > S > HS > 3S cancel > HS... I will let some more experienced Anji players say what they think of it, but as far as I know, Anji can just apply quick & short blockstrings in AC if he wants to stay safe.
  22. Thanks a lot for your answer Maybe I should go to training mode to see if I can improve my timing with oki notes, with Potem spamming 5P. For the lack of damage, I know I still miss a lot of things in my execution, and most of the time I don't know exactly what combos are working against Potem', so I try to improvise with low success rate :x And for your questions regarding my friend: 1 - I think he knows that you can freely slidehead after a blocked 6H. Why doesn't he do it ? No idea. He did it earlier. In fact he purposely stopped doing slidehead > OTG into Heat Knuckle to "prepare" for the AC+R version of the game (and because we both think this OTG is totally abuse :p). Maybe there's a bond with 6H > slidehead ? I'll ask him to answer himself, he's member of Dustloop too :p 2 - Oh yes, in fact I often try to IB that 2D and get caught. But maybe it's not worth it. 3 - I'll train myself to shoot notes. 4 - That FDB really annoys me. I keep getting pounded by it, and I still can't figure its huge hitbox yet ¬¬
  23. Hi guys, I've been playing I-no since January and I have a hard time dealing with my friend's Potemkin (actually he crushes me 99% of the time since January). Yesterday we recorded some games, the video can be found here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1q3qy3bm3g Sorry for the quality and the lack of sound, but that's all we have for the moment. Please note that these games are online games, and that we had a little bit of lag coming at the party (I get hit A LOT by 6HS when I want to IB them ¬¬). My questions: - How can I improve globally ? (I just saw the record and it's obvious I'm rushing too much at Potem like a dumbass, but there are probably a lot of other things to note) - Why am I just getting pounded by 5P 5P 5P when I want to get in after a KD ? (probably some timing issues, but I don't know exactly what I'm doing wrong) - Could you give me some oki setups after a KD and hover dash > IAD ? It seems I can't beat that Potemkin backdash, even with a STBT S just after landing. - How do you deal with the neutral game ? I feel I just can "poke" with HCL. Any advice would be appreciated =) And don't lose your time saying I suck with I-no, I already know that :p
  24. Unfortunately it's done that way (956 or 754) It's just a question of training, you'll quickly get used of it.
  25. By the way, does anyone know this Midorino Anji player ? I was really impressed by his play against Ain, but I couldn't find any other game with him. Maybe he's got another nickname ?
