  1. One way you can do drill cancelling on a pad is by using the default layout and swapping the Heavy Slash and Dust buttons. That you way you can piano 1K~H with your thumb and index finger much more easily without resorting to a claw grip.
  2. The unblockable setup with bomb bag and metagiri on oki still seem to work as well, but requires more precise timing. Not that I've seen many people use that set up much, but it's still an option at least.
  3. Faust is indeed still fine and good. the 214H nerfs seem really sad at first glance, but in practice it still works out fine. You can still combo from it, and for the most part is still a good scary thing to use as part of his close up pressure and mixup game. If you want damage now, you'll just have to earn it, and also change some of your combos a bit to use doctor copter as a finisher. No real hidden buffs that I could find though that weren't mentioned in the previous patch notes for the location tests. I'm so happy about that the j.2K being able to do it so low for a fast drill cancel like in the XX series.
  4. For black hole pressure, keep in mind that on block once you're in and attacking you can use his 5P > c.S and c.S > 5P gattles to keep them in blockstun while the black hole is going. Then once it's over you can reset the situation with farther pokes to item toss, drill, go in for hack 'n slash, pogo gimmicks, etc. Of course, this is different if the other guy dead angles while you're doing the string, so if you feel that ones coming, you can attempt to bait it and punish it. 2P and 2H work really well for this because of how low profile they are and the range they cover.
  5. Adding this video too: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kv8vgGw3caE Nage making Nakamura and Ogawa look like chumps.

My Skype is Krakhan. I'd love to take part in it.
  7. Faust will be fine in 1.10. It's just that he won't get as much easy damage from basic bnbs anymore. I also agree you'll just have to play a better zoning and neutral game to compensate, which he already excels at anyways. Compared to the changes Faust got from something like XX to #R, these changes are pretty tame.
  8. Yes, now if you want to do any follow ups anywhere with it, you'll have to RC it. I don't think there would be enough time to even link 5P in the corner anymore. The other nerf to 214H with only the first hit of it being unblockable might also affect the unblockable he's had with it since XX (for oki, throw bomb bag behind opponent, land, 214H as opponents gets up and blocks explosion). I'm not really sure though, this is something that would have to be tested. Not really something you would use a lot at all in most matches (maybe vs Baiken before?), but another option that may not work anymore.
  9. That change makes it so that you can basically do the drill cancel with old XX series timing. Right now you have to delay it slightly or you just get a drill. Here are some additional unlisted changes from Zinac's Twitter that I've paraphrased: - Faust's Love/Bomb Bag (j.236P) recovery increased from 39 to 44 frames. - Mettakiri/Hack 'N Slash (214H) recovery changed from 34 to 40 frames. - j.2k and 6HS initial proration changed to 90% - 236S, H (Going my way) damage reduced from 16 to 12. - Back Door and Front Door (214K/P respectively) cause tumble on counter hit. - Proxy guard time on bomb and poison was seems to be reduced. - Charged S flower from pogo untech time increased. - Doctor-copter (8 from pogo) damage increased from 13 to 20. Vulnerable box added to bottom side of the attack. - Invulnerability frames added to K flower. - From Above Door Teleport (214S) is now auto jump installed i.e. you can air dash or double jump after an RC, like in AC and +R.
  10. I'm also not sure what you're talking about since the Evo game lineup hasn't been announced yet. Regardless, in my opinion, it will mostly likely be a main game this year. If not, it will have a really huge side tournament, that's for sure.
  11. As Wirya said, just like throughout XX, items tossed by Faust in Xrd in whatever way (normal, pogo, supers) are not all equally likely to come out, and every item toss event is independent in a probabilistic sense. The followup question would be what the actual probabilities are in Xrd. The only version of XX I could find some probabilities were from Slash listed in Edward Chang's guide on GameFAQs. In that game, they were the following: Hammer 24/128, Bomb 20/128, Poison 16/128, Chibi Faust 15/128, Chocolate and Donut 14/128 each, Chibi Robo Ky 12/128, Meteor 8/128, Coin 4/128, Chibi Potemkin 1/128.
  12. It is still viable and just as important in Xrd as previous games imo, since drill cancelled j.K and j.H are just still so good for very quick overheads and zoning respectively. I'm not sure which matches you're talking about though, since all the good Faust's from the Mikado tournaments do still use it quite a bit, even for changing your fall speed!
  13. In Guilty Gear tradition, this matchup is the worst and most awful for Faust.
  14. I had a related issue with the PSN store on PS3 with downloading the full colour pack... It worked, except no additional colours for Ky for some reason! A workaround I found since redownloading from my PS3 didn't work was this: I went to the Playstation Store in my browser (https://store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com), logged in, found the Ky DLC for Guilty Gear Xrd, and pressed the button to download to my PS3. It downloaded it right when I turned it on, and I can now finally select it. So that's what I would suggest doing for anyone having issues with it in that sense.
  15. It's available on the Japanese PSN store now for those that didn't pre-order. Get it while it's hot!!
  16. I've seen it in a handful of match videos. I guess that's the other option you can do after getting a gold burst if you really want to blow all of your meter at once for havoc, with 2 bonus items as well. You'd probably be better off spending the meter on YRCs though, which is why it doesn't get used that much.
  17. Don't know if anyone reads this forum anymore, but here's some online matches Vs. me and another Canadian Chipp & May player, with Hos and Sol thrown in to: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9NXXwUIuWw Comments and criticism welcome.
  18. Add me too please. Skype: Krakhan
  19. Yes, Faust could in general special cancel his drill in XX. It's just that most of the time it would be into Going My Way (or FB Pogo in AC and +R with meter) to make it safe. Also from some random match videos I saw, anything imflammable based in VS/Arcade mode will set the oil slick on fire. One example was a Sol player divekicking into the oil slick, which ended up setting it on fire and killing him. Pretty funny!
  20. I've been playing +R Faust for awhile since the patch hit Japanese PSN. What are you looking for exactly? There's a lot of variations and uses for Faust's FB Pogo since it now ignores/remove OTG status, and with back pogo slam having double the untechable time, you can do some interesting stuff if you cross up with the 9D follow up while on the pogo. e.g. j.2K > j.236D, (land), 9D, 66, 7*, S, H. 50% tension, Good combo for switching sides to say put your opponent in the corner. *at this point you are now facing the other direction, so you hope forward one step so that you can hit them with the ground flower to lift them up into going my way. You can also use j.236D as a pickup now by tiger kneeing it (2369D) after doing a standard pogo combo in the corner too. Or as an easier follow up after scalpel pull, bat > FB TNT explosion followup for a pickup. I should probably ask to get a wiki account to update the Dustloop Wiki for Faust sometime so I can add in some of the combos options he has. There are quite a bit now in +R!
  21. As a fellow Canadian I was wary of this too because of Arc Sys' statement, but it turns out that the PSN update for +R on Canadian PSN (which is probably indeed the same as US PSN) also includes +R. So no shenanigans with needing a US account to download the free update like you had to do with XBL. Edit: And it was confirmed in the other thread anyways!
  22. Awesome, thanks! Looking forward to the other videos too.
  23. For Faust, does he have a YRC on his pogo 236S move like the FRC in XX, or do you have to RC for 50% tension like in #R and onwards? Seems like the latter so far.
  24. GT: Krakhan Main that I focus on: Faust Subs that I'm trying to learn on the side: Dizzy, Ky, Potemkin. North Western Ontario, Canada I can play either AC+ or +R. Midwest or Eastern US/Canada connections preferred.
