  1. If Luminos's, and perhaps Toxin's, theories prove true, then it would seem as though Touya, Naoto, and (mainly and/or by proxy) Ragna play the same role of the "hero" that always defeats "the monster" in the end no matter how many times "the girl" (who exactly is she anyway?) rewrites the the tale in the "Story of the World." "The girl" rewrites the story and attempts to reach out to the hero to save her from her imprisonment inside this monster that's--in my opinion--implied to be the Amaterasu unit. However, the hero doesn't heed the girl's voice, as she is the author (and the monster itself), and the hero is but a mere 'fictional storybook character', and thus the conclusion never changes. This would suggest that role of "the girl inside the monster" is played by the heroes' respective "damsel in distress," in which case it is either Es, Raquel, or Saya, respectively. (Mori says it's "True Noel," whoever she is.) Some theorized a while back that the girl in the "Story of the World" was Nu, but I dunno; this whole "True Noel" thing is really starting to draw parallels to the aforementioned "girl" and the book.
  2. So basically that Alpha-1 thing or whatever or Izanagi...Insert other media
  3. I just thought of something. Something tells me that those weird parts on Izanami we were pondering about earlier might serve as a sort of aesthetic way to connect her to skeletons and things of the sort to better fit her "death" motif. It does sorta look skeletal, no? I mean, sure, it's a vague/minor detail, but perhaps they wanted to avoid going all-out with it like "OMGSHE'STHEGODDESSOFDEATHSEEALLTHESKULLSANDCORPSES?!!1!!11!!!1!!one!11!?" There's probably some plot-related reason for it, though, but given this series' track record, I wouldn't bet on it. *rolls eyes*
  4. Phew. So I guess I am not the only one to notice those weird "parts"(?) on Sayanami's body. (I was afraid to bring it up.) I wonder what the heck they could be and why the heck they're there. I agree with others who are saying they seem quite doll-like. I hope they're just some weird design thing; I don't want Saya/Izanami to be a literal doll. That would suck.
  5. I was under the impression that Platinum (the body that houses Luna and Sena) was a physical manifestation (or a creation) of Muchourin. Either that, or some sort of homunculus. Or both. Trinity was known as an alchemist back in her day, which tends to go hand-and-hand with homunculi and things of the sort. It is likely that Trinity created the body from within Muchourin using the said Noct Nyctores' power, although I'll admit don't know very much about her past dealings with alchemy to expound on that particular subject any further. However, if Platinum's existence is indeed vanishing, then it is safe to assume that whatever tethered her to the world has either become too weak to sustain her or is no longer there. Hopefully what little is known about Platinum (the body) will unfold in Central Fiction.
  6. It should go without saying that "good" and "evil" aren't so black and white; there is a complex gray area in-between, and the concepts in and of themselves are wholly subjective. However, Ragna's being a smart-ass and Bang's loudness aren't the slightest bit comparable to the level of "evil" Relius is on. Count the number of positive things Ragna and Bang have done--the sacrifices they've made in spite of all the hardships they've seen...yeah. Comparing Ragna and Bang's shortcomings to anything that Relius's sociopathic ass has done in the past century or so doesn't even begin to make sense. It's actually kind of scary (though, yeah, this is just a video game series) that anyone would justify anything Relius has done or what he stands for just because Ragna has a smart mouth and Bang is loud and lustlorn for Litchi, therefore they are somehow just as bad(?). What? :/
  7. They should not have had to do all that for the supposedly core concepts in the series, and I should not have to skip around several mediums just to get the full scoop--only to encounter seemingly contradictory and/or misleading definitions of the same weapon/armagus/whatever name--nor should I have to wait/beg for them to finally include a library mode amid the quagmire after gods know how long.. Zedar hit the nail on the head in regards to what I mentioned, though; it's mostly a poor or subpar localization effort (depending on the game). Us Westerners have to go the extra mile--poor/lazy translations and all--in order to get what the Japanese have handed to them. So yeah, it's mostly a "lost in translation" sorta deal. Mostly.
  8. "Gain Art" has been mentioned a few times in this thread, but that was a ways back; I wonder if it has anything to do with the aforementioned "Arts." One thing that really bugs me about the Blazblue universe is the inconsistency in its many terms. Certain words seem to be synonymous with each other but aren't, while many terms are often used interchangeably but are then seemingly contradicted in other official sources. I don't know if it's a poor translation thing or what, but it's enough to make your head spin, and my head don't spin. I've literally watched hundreds of anime--the most convoluted plots, most of which were worsened by mistranslations/laziness--and have been able to grasp and understand them, but Blazblue takes the cake sometimes. Most of the confusion lies in the lack of steadfast. consistency in the definition of some of the series' most crucial terms (i.e., stuff like sorcery, magic). Again, maybe it's a poor translation thing.
  9. Haha. The resemblance is pretty uncanny, though. On topic. It would seem there aren't too many theories surrounding Terumi aside from what's commonly conjectured. Lots of dubious connections such as the purported belief that he's somehow connected to either Unomaru or Ripper/Kiri/Freaks, all of which pose nothing but massive contradictions and flawed logic. We can only hope that the next acts in Central Fiction will shed some light on Terumi's past, but I find it doubtful; Chronophantasma seems to have closed the chapter on his backstory for good, at least in the games. There are always future novels to look forward to, though, I guess.
  10. I want him to be the one of the overall series' much-needed "ancient evils," as there appear to be very few of those (thank gods for Clavis). Some characters and entities give off the vibe of 'ancient evil', but their backstories tend to show that they've only been around for a few centuries at the most. The "girl" inside of the Amaterasu unit is starting to seem like yet another centuries-old entity and not some badass ancient god thing, which sucks. As such, I honestly have very few hypotheses regarding Terumi, as the series gives us very little to work with. The fact that he once used the Susano-o Unit seems to lend to the idea of him being an aforementioned "ancient evil," but he might've only became a thing within the past three hundred or so years. So there's that. However, there is one thing that's drives me insane--I hope the next Bloodedge Experience novels or another source delve into it in the future--and that's the fact that he shares his name with a branch of the Amanohokosaka clan, which includes Saya Terumi and Naoto Kurogane (who purportedly uses his mother's maiden name). It has been stated by Word of God that Yuuki Terumi is just yet another alias, but it could make for an interesting plot point. The mystery lies in what purpose would Yuuki have for using the Terumi clan's name, but for all I know it might just wind up being a huge coincidence. My memory tends to shart circuit on me at times, but I recall reading a summary (on here?) of the second part of Bloodedge Experience that mentioned the brief appearance of Terumi (Hazama?), so there MIGHT be a chance of more info being released on his enigmatic past in due time. (Meh.)
  11. With the silhouette of what's theorized to be Sayanami having been shown in the next act, it sorta makes you wonder who the main antagonist of the endgame is going to be and what role they'll play in closing the "Ragna saga." Something's telling me that the console version is going to have one DOOZY of a story mode.
  12. You know...I really wanted to believe that the "world" they were referring to is simply "the past" used metaphorically, as most of us have theorized since Bloodedge Experience came out, but that would make too much sense. lol It's highly likely that's all there is to it, though. This also implies Naoto is a Chronophantasma.
  13. Just a few thoughts. Valkenhayn is mentioned to exist outside of the world's "logic" or "kotowari." He himself confirms this. With that in mind, is it safe to assume that he crossed over from Naoto's world--a place that might very well exist outside of the kotowari as well--at some point, based on the details we're given? If this proves true then it goes without saying that Naoto's existence defies the kotowari just like Valk, and possibly Relius Clover. I wonder what implications this might have for the plot and--based on his and Rachel Alucard's dialogue--Ragna and Rachel's mysterious origins. Act 2, or at least 3, better wrap this up, as it poses more questions than I answers, in my opinion. Can't wait to see what's in store.
  14. Well, Relius's status as an alchemist has been touched upon numerous times in the series, and the Magic Guild was also mentioned to have been heavily involved with alchemy (in addition to magic and, to a certain degree, science). Relius's involvement with the organization doesn't surprise me one bit. The "leader" part comes as a huge shock, though. That's insane.
  15. Well, I know the character's real name and all, as another member on here confirmed it for me a while back in another thread. I still trust in my assessment, however. Actually, the fact that it's a title probably makes (at least some parts of my assessment) even more likely. I surmise she's responsible with or capable of keeping (some)things in tune, or she herself is in tune with something (i.e., "nature," etc.) I theorize that 'tuning' might serve as the method through which her medical technique is administered--assuming she's in fact a doctor as some have suggested/gathered, that is. The bells might possibly be used as catalysts for this. If nothing else, "Tuner" may at the very least serve as a (stealth?) musical reference to such things as 'tuning a guitar'
  16. The name "Tuner" seems to be yet another direct musical reference. To support this, the bell ornaments seem to resemble a headphone set. I may have stumbled upon a Korean musician/band whose name--and possibly(?) style/appearance--might've served as inspiration for her design as well. I'll have to dig it up, though, as it's been a few weeks since I found it; I should've posted it right away before. Not entirely sure how reliable these particular findings would've been, though. There's also these guys. All in all the bells suggest the use of sound (waves, etc.) for either plot, combat, [and/]or other purposes. This may be loosely connected to this somehow but with some sort of fantasy element and a bit of edge thrown in for good measure. Also, wasn't it mentioned that Tuner is a doctor, or might be the doctor Faust was searching for? In which case, I wonder how the concept of manipulating sound ties into all that (that is, if sound is a prominent theme to this character). Sound therapy? The ability to stir/control the emotions of others? The list goes on. Could make for an interesting plot element.
  17. I dunno at this point, but I am really hoping Naoto becomes the protagonist of the series and Bloodedge Experience's plot receives more expansion. Either that, or just end the BlazBlue series and delve into the plots of the aforementioned manga and/or XBlaze a bit more in the form of a fighting game. Xblaze didn't seem to do very well as a visual novel, but I bet it'd do pretty well as a fighting game. Frankly I'd just like to see more of the Blazblue universe's characters in action. lol
  18. Not sure if or how my post came across as if I didn't like the plot and all. I'm actually quite obsessed with it (I actually went into work this morning in zombie mode because I pulled an all-nighter brushing up on my GG lore, lol). Despite what I said in my last post, I really like complex plotlines. Although, my main attachment to this series is the characters, and I like to keep tabs on whatever happens to them, if that makes sense. Aaaand, it appears we're getting off-topic here. .-.
  19. Anime and anime-based plot(?) authors/creators tend to add all kinds of ridiculous twists and turns when they feel as though the plot is becoming far too similar to another anime or anime-based plot(?). They're basically trying to establish a sense of uniqueness and originality in their plot--in a medium where uniqueness and originality are largely believed to be dead. Unfortunately, in doing so, Guilty Gear is starting to look very much like Blazblue...or vice-versa(?).
  20. Just... All kinds of NOPE. The two users above me appear to have covered all the bases on this one, but I would just like to back them up and say that you're shooting blanks, son. Although I kind of get where you're coming from with their similar names and all that. The Blazblue universe and its offshoots are already convoluted enough without characters with similar names, traits, and appearances. Like, come on now, Mori and Co. God damn. Sigh.
  21. The only way that this could possible is if Terumi was around during the time that Bloodedge Experience took place, OR if BE takes place in an alternate continuity, as some have implied, Terumi theoretically may have once crossed over into that continuity (via the boundary?) and used the Terumi clan's name as an alias in order to get close to the them (or whatever) to troll and wreak havoc for some nefarious purpose. However, such a theory is really pushing it considering there is very little to go on at this point. Also it is never explicitly stated how long Terumi has been around on a large scale of time; could be several centuries, millenia(?). I mean, yeah, a lot of his backstory has been revealed thus far, but the certain aspects of this guy are still a total mystery for the most part.
  22. This is something that I've been pondering about for quite a while now. Something tells me that, if the above proves true, XBlaze may have stealthily introduced a ton of characters from Blazblue's history--parallel versions of the implied characters, rather. For instance, it was brought up sometime ago that 'Watashi' mentions the simlarities between Kuon and the woman who taught her some fire magic. This is implies that she might be talking about the Kuon from her own continuity (implied to be 'the BB one'). Another example is XBlaze's Marcelyn F. Mercury, who might very well be a stealth reveal of Watashi and Imouto's whatever (aunt, grandmother, etc.) from their original continuity. Sechs, Acht, etc. are likely to have BB versions, as well; however, the aforesaid characters' roles may differ between the continuities.
  23. There's something peculiar about the way that Mai is standing in her story mode portrait, but it's not so much her overall stance as it's the way that her right hand is positioned. It reminds me of the way that her hand is positioned here in this picture. I could EASILY see a rapier being placed there in an alternate, battle attire story mode portrait, just as shown in the image above.
  24. I was thinking the same thing, but I was reminded of Amane at first because of the ribbons and such, and the fact that 87.5% of Sylveon are male.
  25. So I was browsing another thread when I came across an info dump of some of the terms used in XBlaze, and one thing that caught my eye was "Gain Art." If memory serves, Izayoi has a move that goes by the same name. I looked around and I couldn't find any info on this; could they somehow be connected (not necessarily story-wise, but function-wise)?
