Thanks for those, Sam. I've been really trying to improve my execution and combo options recently so I'll give those a go later. Also, a question about IOH > fuzzy guard setups. I find it quite hard to consistently do 5B > j.2AD > j.B jc j.A/B on Carl because of his standing hitbox. Do you think I should opt for 5B > j.2BD instead, or just get better?

I'm certain I've seen 6A launch but I'm not sure how it works. I don't think winding upwards would change anything though. But yeah, 6A by itself doesn't launch in CP.

I was delaying the wind as much as possible in order to still get the 3 hits of 3C and it worked everytime. The wind should only be too late if 3C doesn't connect properly, it should be easy to tell if this is happening. I don't think the wind is your problem to be honest. I generally always press 5CD at the same time midscreen anyway but do whatever you're comfortable with. The combo thread lists the character specifics of that combo if you haven't looked there already. Should be under 1 wind midscreen section?
-
Character specific indeed. (Listed in the combo thread) Currently in training mode, the wind timing is fairly lenient. It seems as long as you connect 3C (3 hits) it will work regardless.

I found the 5B > j.C > j.236A> 2D x 2 quite difficult to execute, the inputs seem very strict. ...and, of course, if N-O thinks her combos are hard, then they must be hard.

I was inputting 2363214C for her AH when I was messing around with CP in Japan. (Either that or 2141236C, I swear I posted it in this thread somewhere but can't seem to find it :/) Anyway, I was hitting it every attempt so I would like to find out what the 'actual' input is.

I'm pretty sure OD Tempest Dahlia is just insane. Regarding my 5B > 2D > 9j.A problem, turns out I just wasn't doing the j.A fast enough. Thanks Tari.

Thanks. I must just need to practice it some more. I guess I'm slightly delaying my j.A because I'm so used to doing 2D after my jump. Anyway, I'm sure I'll be able to find out what I'm not doing correctly. Thanks again.

My problem with the fuzzy guard setup is the jump cancel after j.B. My belief is that you still want the 2D to be active during the jump cancel? I can easily get the fuzzy guard from 5B > 9j.2DA but I can't seem to from 5B > 2D > 9j.A. I'll give your suggestion a go and try to further analyse what isn't working for me. Thanks for the help!

I was just going to ask for some insight into performing Rachel's instant overhead, so luckily I checked the previous page and pretty much found my answer. Basically, I want to know if it's worth me learning to input 5B > 2D > 9j.A? I am already comfortable inputting 5B > 9j.2DA for her instant overhead but the Mixup/Pressure Compendium challenged me into thinking I wasn't doing it optimally. I have been practicing inputting the 2D before the jump but am struggling with it a bit. I'm basically attempting to land the j.A > j.B > jc > j.B > j.A > j.B > j.C block-string but generally the downwards wind will disappear before the jump-cancel or I will just super-jump right at the start. So, I'm basically inputting the wind too early or just super-jumping at this point. I think I've managed to land it legitimately a few times out of countless attempts. I know you can bait a high block with the wind and then 2B instead, as Tari explained, and the j.A seems slightly lower but is there much other advantage in inputting 2D before the jump? Also, are there any tips into landing 5B > 2D > 9j.A > j.B > jc > j.B > j.A > j.B > j.C? Or is it just practise, practise, practise, like everything else?

Practicing the level 2 j.2C definitely isn't wasted. In CP you basically just have to jump further, I think it's similar to landing the combo off a throw in CSEX? Could be wrong, I was only in Japan a couple of months ago but it feels like aeons. You can't really practice much else from CSEX to carry over, so you may as well focus on getting that down.
-
The level 2 j.2C combo isn't really any harder, well maybe only slightly, but once I adjusted it was easy enough. You can't connect 5A after a close ranged 236B anymore, it pushes the opponent too far away. I miss CP... :/

Nin-Nin seem to be the only place still taking orders. I would try to avoid paying with a credit card as it seems to be very painful, you will need to pay upfront with PayPal though. http://www.nin-nin-game.com/japanese-import-playstation-3-brand-new-softs/6327-blazblue-chronophantasma-limited-box-ps3-en.html You will need to make a Japanese PSN account in order to use the dlc code. The game itself will work fine on your own PSN account.

This. I wouldn't say Rachel is worse at all, just different. I sometimes struggled to get a feel for CP Rachel even when just doing things like zoning and summoning, maybe it was just me but there seemed to be some slight changes in frame data/move properties I wasn't aware of. It easily could of been me not playing well though. Anyway, I really enjoyed playing CP Rachel so can't wait for the console release. N-O makes Rachel look damn right scary. Has Rachel's new AH input been mentioned? (sorry I don't really keep up-to-date here). It's 2363214C if anyone was wondering, and her AH is too amazing.

Just got back from Japan the other day and played a little CP when I was there. Overall, I really like the new Rachel. In regards to 3C being -1 on block, Ragna was punishing me when I attempted 236A afterwards. My memory is a little hazy and I can't remember what he was doing exactly. Do her Lobelias have increased recovery? Because it really felt like it when I was playing. I struggled to adjust to 4B but I enjoyed using it mid combo. 6B being jump cancellable again is amazing and her j.B overhead on Hakumen and Tager is pretty great. Hopefully the console release comes soon. Now I'm back at home playing Extend where I can count the number of local dedicated players on my fingers.

Hi, I'm Stoneroth, or at least my PSN account says so. I've been a stalker for a while but thought I would get more involved, had thought about doing this a little while ago but this thread seemed a bit dead too. Anyway, BB is my first legitimate fighting game and I've been playing Rachel for a bit over a year now. I started off learning Ragna and Noel but I found Ragna fairly boring and Noel's drive probably wasn't doing me any favours in regards to becoming a better player. Admittedly, I'm still not that amazing but that's why I'm here I guess. I haven't really put a lot of time in the training room lately either but I'm looking to pick up my game. I can do lvl 2 j.2C combos etc but I still need to become more consistent. I live in Perth, Australia which also makes it a bit hard to level up as they're aren't very many legitimate players at all and the netcode isn't the best over here. I really appreciate all the effort some of you guys put in as I've already learnt so much, and I can't pull myself away from the CP video thread. I'm also heading to Japan in a week so I can't wait to mess around in CP. I started playing CS1 so I'm looking forward to a more drastic change and I like how Rachel looks in CP. I guess that's about it, I look forward to being more active.
