Well I tried for another several hours with no success. I'll give up trying to do that 23 combo and work on other stuff. I got few other questions. I read a lot about people mentioning DP whiff combo. Does that consist of delaying the J.214X to whiff after the DP? And what's up with connecting with 2C after launching the dummy? I would mash like crazy and I would still be too late at times. Also I've been trying to figure out what is going on with this basic combo: Throw > 236C > 214B > 22B For some reason, I can't seem to connect 214B after 236C. Sometimes it connects and I can't figure out the timing for this.

Anyone got tips for challenge 23? I always seems to cross up when I try to do 6CC which whiff after the J.214D, so I try to cheat a little by doing it in the corners, but can never connect 2nd J.C at all.
-
thanks I finally got past 21. I'll still need practice, but at least I'm getting it.
-
Can I get some tips on this too? I'm stuck on challenge 21 with Tsubaki. I seem to drop her J.C after the J.D a lot. If I do it too fast, J.C doesn't even come out and when I connect J.C, I actually whiff the 2C > 2CC. It looks like I have to let most of the 66C hit before I cancel into J.D? Or does the timing of 22D matter at all before this part of the combo happens?

I don't think it's carpal tunnel, because I feel the straining feeling over my fingers and around middle to top part of the palm. I did experience carpal before (straining feeling over the wrist), but that was from improper usage of mouse with bad forms. I guess I'll have to experiment some more before I figure this out.

Well I'm did try the p4a layout and it just feels awkward for combinations like grab and burst. B layout just seem logical to me, but now I'm thinking about trying out A and see if it makes a difference. I figure it will because my ring finger would be assigned to the D button which I won't mash as much as C. I wonder if it's really a muscle thing... I just thought I had a improper way of laying my hand on the stick. Do you guys usually relax your hand palm flat down on the stick, or have a craw stance of sort with each finger tip on top of each buttons?

I was wondering if anyone is having a similar issue that I'm experiencing at the moment. I have a madcatz SF x Tekken stick that I've been using for P4A which is my also first fighter. Now, I want to get into BB and I started playing around a bit with BB extend, but I'm experience some discomfort on my right hand using the BB layout. I'm using the B layout which is ABC D compared to that I was using default layout in P4A which is AC BD The way I place my hand on the stick isn't that much different. I do let my ring finger on top of the C button for BB. For some reason, my right hand is straining a lot and gets tired really fast. I never had issue with P4A, so I'm just wondering what is going on. It may be that I'm not used to using the ring finger to press C and it's somehow adding stress to my hand. Anyone have any idea?

It hurts watching labrys getting bodied in all these matches. The labrys that went against Chie on Stream B was pretty solid, but did very bad bursts against liz next match. That combo that liz did at the end of the match was amazing.
-
Thanks for videos. I haven't watched much Japanese Labrys in awhile. Too bad most of the matches the Labrys are getting bodied.

Thanks a lot. I finally managed to do this combo: 5AA>5AA> 2C> 5D>5D~[5B]>[2B]>jc>j.BB>jc>j.B>j.C>j.214B I was looking for a non fatal 5A red ax corner starter that would at least do same or more damage than the mid screen 5A one. I think I found the timing for the 2nd 5D by confirming on the first 5D. I didn't even realize that the extra hit from 2C can mess up the combo. Still need more practice to get used to it like you said though.
-
btw Tectal, what is the timing on that this part of the combo in your optimal combo section? 2C> 5D>5D~[5B] The dummy seems to tech out too fast after the first 5D.
-
Thanks I checked out some of those matches though it's hard to follow with the skipping around. I guess I'll wait for matches to be uploaded. I'm also looking forward to that Sakuma vs Nerina FT10 that will happen soon hopefully. I wonder when a Labrys will win a major tourney? lol
-
Did anyone watch the 3 labrys players in Arc Revo? I only watched Sakuma play against Yu sama on final 8.
-
I was going to come again, but something just came up. Maybe next time!

I guess I have to start conditioning myself to not do 5B after blocked 5A/2A... well at least when I start getting DPed for it. After 1k+ matches online, I'm still finding out something new. I'm such a scrub
-
Is 2A > 5B not safe? I kept getting DPed last night against an Aigis player between 2AA > 5B. I think guillotine can be DPed in the block string, but didn't think I can get DPed going from 2A to 5B. Maybe I got DPed on the Sweep instead. Maybe it was a netplay lag thing? I should have recorded that match.

Yea, what I meant is that I don't want to do 236B > AB, but I end up doing it often because I already did 5AAA by mashing A too much. It's a habit that I'm trying to rid of. I'm making efforts to do the SP guillotine combo instead when I can instead of autocombo or the 236B > AB
-
Surf, you got a solid Labrys. Not scrubby at all! Not sure what else I can add that you don't already know; my labrys is really scrubby I think in that Labrys match up, you could have tried more 5A meaty on tsurugi oki instead ... mix up with something like 5A > IAD, 5A > AoA, 5A > 2AB, etc. On the yukiko match up, you should try to punish the super with your DP. I think one time you were able to counter with a throw, but DP is probably a safer bet in that case. And I guess make sure to not drop your super. I think I saw you not do super on match point where, you had red ax and the yukiko had fraction health after you landed the bnb. And careful with the bursts I guess. Make sure to not burst right outside of awakening. Lot of the stuff I mention, I don't really do well myself >.> I'm also making more effort to do the SP combo to raise ax level/oki. I always end up doing 5 AAA > 236B > 6AB > J.AA > air combo instead. I mash 5A too much.
-
I really want to do BI combos in a real match. It looks so swag and stylish. But I never seem to find myself the opportunity to try. 5DD oki I tried was 5AAA > AoA > 5B > 5DD. For the most part it seem to work, but I remember one time it got rolled on wake up on net play.
-
I'm on a stick. I had some success with Eshi's oki set up on net play. It does force the opponents to DP which I can start baiting. I did the 5DD oki in the corner few times and it seem to work decently. Though there are times it just got rolled, so I don't know. I tried to see if I can do brutal impact set up on 5DD oki, but it doesn't seem to work.

It also happened to me only a few times until last week... I just started to do it maybe like once out of ten matches I played (just guessing/estimating it... it seems so frequent). It was driving me crazy and I hit the lab and doing bunch of blockstrings. I definitely had it come out during my SP combos where tsurugi is used. I gotta figure out what changed that made me start to do this frequently. It feels like how with Chie when I try to do god hand, but meteors come out instead >.> I did my first offline tourney and I ended up doing it then too. It may have costed the match for me... though I made plenty of other mistakes too.
-
has anyone done brutal impact accidentally occasionally? I had instance where it comes out when I'm trying to do tsurugi or guillotine. I think the 2 2 input comes out sometimes like 2 > 4 > 2 > 4 and sometimes the buffering from the sweep to guillotine may cause this for me. I may be the only one, but I've seen this one labrys player do it accidentally on netplay; he said didn't try to do it on the mike.

I'm going to this. It will be my first time going to a local scene. Looking forward to it.

Planning on going to the break for p4a next time. I'm in Cliffside Park, NJ. I think I see some people who are pretty close by which is cool. -
Thanks for the explanation. I'm thinking of going to my first local scenes for p4a and was working through the combos again. Tried practicing some combos I had hard time with and after all these times, the timing seems to be easier for some reason. Regarding the 2C > DP loop combos, is the timing of the 2A at the end slightly delayed compared to a 5A? I'm starting connect the 2A better and I think since it hits low, I have to be a little bit slower to connect it.
