OVER THE WORLD tourney vids are up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DR5HD8xFq4E https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CjU0brIOSew https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hC3hsBTke_8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMfLGlMzzZI -
If you're not yet familiar with it, Fiona's Grand Divider (236A etc...) has "clean hit" properties. Essentially, you have to time the actual hit to be within a certain area to get a clean hit and maximum dmg. I don't play Fiona so I don't know the actual window for the clean hit, but I do know it's way harder to get a clean hit on the super version of the move than on the regular one. The dmg is EXTREMELY high and can result in an instant KO if done with steel powerups. (seen here at 2:50) A basic Fiona bnb is: 2A-2B-2C->HC6-5B-(IAD)j.A-j.B->(land)j.A-j.B-dj.A-dj.B-dj.2C or alternatively: 2A-2B-2C->HC6-5B-(IAD)j.A-j.B->(land)j.A-j.B-dj.A-dj.B-dj.C-dj.214C As per your reference to 214C, I assume you mean Heaven's Fall (j.214C). The main issue with using j.214C is that it leaves you at no advantage. Sure you get decent dmg, but both you and your opponent recover at the same time and you're pushed away from them. I'd say to try and avoid using j.214C and go for j.2C. However, if you still wish to use j.214C, just do: Fire arcana (corner): 3[C]->5[D]-j.B-236D->j.C-236D->j.C-j.214C For more Fiona info, I direct you to her page on the arcana wiki.

That doesn't warrant her being in both 98UM and KOFXI. I'm assuming she'll also be in KOFXII, though haven't cared enough to bother looking at the roster (YES YOU DUMBASSES, IT'S SPELLED "ROSTER" NOT "ROOSTER"!!!). That post was more of a rant over the fact that snk left out andy for 2 games (or 3 depending on what happens in KOFXII) yet constantly bring back some random chick that few actually know or even care about.
-
I'm glad they brought back xiang-fei... hope she doesn't suck this time. And what's with snk's sudden obsession with kasumi?! She's been in just about every new kof game, which isn't what I can say for andy. That's just messed up! Also, I'm assuming that, this time, snk's going for the largest cast in a kof game to date. Far be it for me to judge, but that's a recipe for brokenness. btw... no more angel inf! [EDIT] Indeed... K9999 will be missed! [EDIT2] yuri's new voice is HORRIBLE! But, whatever... xiang-fei's taking her place on my team anyway.

UP used to have it, but it got replaced by SF4. CTF cab sux. WC no longer has one.

This game looks to be REALLY good. The character (not "charachter") portraits are sweet and the sprites are spectacular. Examu has yet to let me down so I expect great things from this game. I'm already MADD hype for this game and there's NO info!!! Wow... and "they" say fighters are dead!!!
-
Next AH tourney's at MWC. Also, I'm fairly certain you can look forward to AH at evo even without HeartNana.
-
There's already an AH2 thread. Leave all AH2 discussions there.

Having multiple chars limits your ability. If you want to actually get good at the game, you'll have to pick one main and stick with them. You can NEVER be better with more than one main than you can be with just one main. I still don't quite get what you mean when you say you burn homing meter faster with Heart than with Saki. You shouldn't need to go into long IAD loops with Heart... in fact, you need only use up one homing stock per combo. The only times I ever use more than one homing stock for a combo is if I start my combo with a j.2c (in which case I'll use 2 stocks) or I'm going for the finish (in which case I'll use as many as I need to get that finish). Also, Heart's IAD combos chain longer than Saki's so if you're having trouble keeping combos going long without burning homing meter, you're not doing the right combos.

Please elaborate. I don't understand what you mean.

Kira's best arcana is certainly rock. She also does well with lightning and time but, as was said before, use whatever arcana you want to. Just coz rock's her best doesn't mean it'll work well for you. Liese can use just about any arcana. I've seen a lot of good things with lightning, love, and fire, but she's not very arcana dependent. As her doll gives her such an amazing offense and defense, most players tend to use arcanas to protect the doll or have an easier time getting the doll back.
-
Love arcana's actually one of the better arcanas in the game. It zones like no other and offers good oki with love ball super. Not to mention love ball offers an easy and safe means of getting in on your opponent from fullscreen. Lazer super's good if you want to get that finish, but otherwise it's probably the only "not quite so useful" move that love has to offer. I know chars like Heart, Saki, Konoha, Mei-Fang, and Maori can use it pretty well. Oh, and "slow fall" offers decent mixup opportunities.
-
Courtesy of Orka: Maori's arcana tier list s+: dieu mort (poison) a: bhanri (lightning), lang-gong (fire), gier (dark) b: parthenias (love), tempestas (wind), moriomoto (plant) c: oreichalkos (steel) d: anutpada (time), niptra (water), ohotsuchi (rock) Saki only has one arcana, lightning. Sure ones like fire and rock are good but the best is, without a doubt, lightning. You're far better off sticking with lightning if you plan to main Saki. Mei-Fang's best arcana is easily fire. However, if you're an extremely offensive player, you'd also do well with dark and water. Dark-Fang = TOO STRONG!!!
-
With water arcana, it depends on the char. Bubbles are generally good for rushing down as they allow you to safely advance on your opponent. However, the char also has to work very well independent of the arcana to effectively use it. It has to be more of a situation where the bubbles are an added bonus rather than a necessity. The fact that they take a hit for you makes them good for beating your opponent's GCs. I generally use water arcana to help if ever I make mistakes (which is pretty often), not to mention turning the tables around at a crucial moment. But like I said, not all chars can use it well. Chars like Maori and Liese can't use it too well but chars like Heart and Mei-Fang are VERY beastly with it.

All you need is 5B-5C-236AB... there, now you know kam! http://guardcrush.net/wiki/index.php/Tokinomiya_Kamui
-
And, for that, I thank you.
-
It's probably my misinterpretation but to me... you make it sound like this Sol might actually be... good! I hope I'm just misreading!
-
I think what it meant was that there are two forms for the boss. There's the "egg" (first form) and Mildred (second form).
-
Fiona's no boss char. She's just a regular char available from the start. There are no unlockable chars and Mildred's the unplayable boss.
-
Well... I've tried comparing AHF to other FGs to no avail. The system does have similarities to other games (e.g. HC with HnKs boost), but the overall engine is unique. I can't think of any one game that it particularly resembles. And anyone that says it's like MBAC obviously hasn't played it at a high-level so don't listen to them.
-
Let's see: 1. Learn to guard 2. Learn your combos 3. Please stop overusing j.214k (especially as it's clear to me that you haven't practiced AD j.214k) 4. Don't throw too much, especially in situations where you can punish easily like a blocked vv 5. Learn to throw FRC 6. For now... fuck IKs! 7. When the pressure's to your advantage, take advantage of it. Try not to lose your offensive edge so easily. 8. Learn to capitalize off 2s CH. 9. Don't whore out 6H and don't followup a blocked 6H with H. Learn your blockstrings. I think this list is a good starting point.

The air command grab super's her CH... so it's new. As of now, I'm still luvin Heart... but I gotta admit, that Zenia player definitely makes her look worth playing. Pilebunker all day and SUPER PILEBUNKER!!!!!
