Montreal: Le Thread Generale Pour Weeaboo Fighters
ReynTime180 replied to BladeOfJustice7's topic in International
I agree with Dhaos, if people are coming to Blazblue for the SOLE reason that kokonoe is in the game, I think THAT would hurt the scene, because if a bunch of people come in for one character, guess who they're all going to play? And although what I said before about next mashfest was a joke, that's what I'm really scared of happening to BB. It'll just be her all over the place with no room for anyone else. But DerQ, I also agree with what you said about EVO, Japan is a big part of EVO, having them there is a big part of what makes it the "world series" of fighting games. It's only hype because we give it value to be hype, and it delivers. But again, if people are ONLY coming for one character, then that's not really hype. Yes, we do need something to push us as players to improve sand get better, both in how we play and how we adapt, but that also comes back to fighting games competitive nature. If a Kokonoe wins EVO was it because that person was a the best player to attend? Or was it because of the character they picked, to give them a huge edge against the competition? -

I'm sure we'll discuss this in deeper length at another time, but to answer the question at hand, no, I would come regardless. -

Tsubaki doesn't get 4k meterless from a 5A though. She also comes with every copy of Bbcp for free. Thing is, people already know tons about kokonoe, and that's why they want her banned, because half the cast can't do anything about her tools, not to mention how good said tools are -
Ah, meter usage, I thought as much. Didn't know that RCs stop momentum (do they?)
-
Instant overheads? Unless you're talking about j.2C (which I don't think you can combo from) Did I miss something with my 3 year main?
-
I laugh at rage quitters (but sometimes I also feel bad)
-
Thats not a bad thing, it's actually really good. Though netplay probably has a lot more diversity in characters for matchup experience than your local scene, so there's that.
-
XD Oh my god, I love you guys! Usually what I do when I get a 5B hit confirm when the opponent is in the air is do the air ender, which is j.A>j.B>j.C>j.C>j.2C but you can actually get a full combo off of it with a j.C>IAD>j.C>j.C and so on, but that's kind of hard....

Don't go to the dark side! There are so few of your kind left, you must ensure the prosperity of your people! -
None that we know of
-
Actually, I find it's even better with an odd number of people, cause there's always someone switching out, so no one always plays the same person
-
You're think it would be Nu/Lambda, but I actually took it to the lab once and found of that bangs is just slightly longer
-
Ah, you have one of those, just map it to any button and eventually you'll get used to having it there, it might take a while thiugh
-
I tend to go L1: Rapid L2: Throw R1: Burst R2: Barrier/ CT I don't use taunts cause Bang has the longest taunt in the game

Jeez, tough times. -
But you did say, you'll never be as good as them, no matter how hard you try. Mmm, not too sure about that. I believe it was even established that there are really good players and really bad players in both Japan and NA, and yes, not everyone has great conditions for getting better, but it's not like that those conditions don't exist. It also doesn't mean that you have to be an obnoxious anus about it.
-
My biggest thing with Fu-Rin-Ka-Zan is that it's on a timer now, so if you drop your combo, you've basically wasted your OD
-
While I do think that the Japanese are usually better players, I wouldn't go so far as to say that no one in America is as good as them. They have good and bad players, just like us, and there are some places in the US and Canada that have offline scenes where you can go to improve as a player
-
Some still work... But if they involve 623B than forget it, ASW just hacked it's usefulness to pieces, an left it as a shadow of what it once was. Oh, no, wait, that's FRKZ. *Quiet sobbing*
-
Well there is such a thing as American Bbcp, besides the obvious 'they have bigger/better connections and communities than everybody, there's also a difference in mindset. Japanese players play to learn, whereas American players usually play to win.

Sometimes that kind of stuff is funny, but if it's like the dude is playing music RIGHT into the mic, it's just invasive and unnecessary

I hate people that pick their character based on 'tiers', there's a name for those kinds of people. I also hate the implications of tiers. If you like a character for their character or playstyle, play them, but not for some meaningless list. I actually find fighting Kunes fun in CP
-
Hey, if someone calls your character useless or bad, it's all the sweeter when you win with them
-
I thought that was already known, that P4A is dead.
