  1. Sorry it took a while to get a reply but dash cancelable normals if that's what you are asking. Anything he commits to a dash he will at best be -5, so you got to get the opponent to respect your cancels if they can and will mash out. As for your corner combos while yes it is possible to do decents combos that dont require enhanced your combo gives you 3.2k damage I can add dash 5b rekka into that exact combo i can do 3.4 and doing a full bnb can get you 3.9k. The damage makes up the execution barrier and I do suggest you take the damage to get comfortable with the cancels little by little cause they really become important as you get into higher levels of play.
  2. With a week till BBCF officially releases in the states I going to follow up on my promise and post all the info people from the internet and inside the naoto discord have found so nobody is lost if they aren't in the know or is not part of this discord(which you should be part of btw) i'll update this as I see fit. With that out of the way let's begin. Execution One of the biggest concerns about naoto is his execution. If you are not up to par with his best stuff then playing the character could be tricky. Luckily Dawn found shortcuts to pull of some of his hardest execution heavy stuff on twitter: Sway into Banishing Fang(214a2366b/214a12366b) - https://twitter.com/DawnofScrubs/status/775643106842701824 Sway into Slash Kaid (214a663214d) - https://twitter.com/DawnofScrubs/status/773686972649005056 Sway into C DP (214a6623C) - https://twitter.com/DawnofScrubs/status/773810630096744448 Combos You will find a huge amount of combos from twitter about his combos here are a few highlights: Basic BnB with Dawn : https://twitter.com/DawnofScrubs/status/773362178279616512 Basic Combos/Overdrive Combos from Gasutasutakora(completely japanese but could be helpful for learning combos): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUwddcwpI-w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBA9Xgck75k Sway Safejump/OS from BloodDragonZero(inputting j.214baa as your safejump): https://twitter.com/BloodDragonZero/status/776343246347837441 Players to ask Usually hard to find players pretty knowledgeable about their characters, but here are a few guys if you need help: @DawnofScrubs @Guymam @SuperKawaiiDesu Guide Some people are more readers than watchers and I am one of them here are a few basic things about Naoto: Naoto Guide from Dawn(basic notes with basic overview of him, his normals, and combos): https://www.evernote.com/shard/s668/sh/7e48fd56-70cc-4ab3-99bd-17763780feb0/2982606e59a0cf9dffda4ce1c5fbc31f Naoto Frame Data from ProblemSkater(may or may not be accurate): https://www.evernote.com/shard/s365/sh/cafc42c2-a098-4645-a126-26a3c7562b4d/39d431648330c294494b90fa29684498 Naoto Revolver Action Table by myself: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/10Vyw5mMJQkGXUVrPyyvZeiM3ZwIpWiGAFcuOLL8YLf0/edit?usp=sharing Naoto Neutral Tips from Rurouni: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/forums/topic/12939-cf-naoto-kurogane-neutral-tips-and-tricks/ Naoto Mixup Tips from Rurouni: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/forums/topic/12957-cf-naoto-kurogane-mixup-pressure-and-oki-thread/ Conclusion Overall Naoto is a strong character that will have trouble fighting in the neutral position and will take a while before you get used to how to play him but I do feel he is good and has a good shot at fighting everybody in the cast. Luckily we have people online and on discord to help. Join the discord here: https://discord.gg/014U1pWJ81pGfG6fg or just start a discussion here on dustloop. While it is barren sometimes people do want to help. Have fun and always DIVVVVVVIDDDDDDDEEEEEEE SMASSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAA! Last Updated: 10/28/16
  3. For anybody picking up Naoto from the NA demo if you check #BBCF_NA on Twitter some stuff various players have found in tech. Around November launch im going to post some of the more information tech since it's super early in the console cycle. https://twitter.com/search?f=tweets&vertical=default&q=%23BBCF_NA&src=typd
  4. Final week is this saturday at 5pm(EST). Let's do this!
  5. It's more like 2 cause you already inputted the first 6 so you just need the other, but yeah it feels awkward to do while doing combos so I would just recommend doing it how it was designed with 5D 6623C and try to do it that way.
  6. Don't want dustloop to become barren, so just posting some info me and the other members of the discord has been working with as I know some people don't use it. Dawn has been posting shortcuts for Sway Dash Cancel: 214A2366B(Sway into Banishing Fang) 214A6623C(Sway into Crusader) 214A663214D(Sway into Slash Kaid) - Video showcasing https://twitter.com/DawnofScrubs/status/773686972649005056 and @Dr_Mcn1njer posted that if you 6D you can just press 6 again to dash cancel (mostly for pressure and neutral) Just a few things we discovered in the past few days.
  7. Not a stick player but if remember correctly it is like A C B D Edit: here you go:
  8. Welcome to the Road to Ceotaku! Ceotaku is an event happening in Orlando Florida on October 1-2 and Persona is one of the main games at the event. To prepare players and spectators for the chaos and hype of this game I'm going to run weekly tournament of the game every week letting up the event. These tournaments are to help players prepare the tournament and for fans of the game to show their support. I hope all of you can check out the amazing world of the P-1 Climax! Rules Double Elimination, Waseda Format (A v A, B v B) 99 seconds Best 2 out of 3 rounds Winner must keep the same character and loser can switch to any character Schedule Important Links Ceotaku (This reason this exists) - http://ceogaming.org/ceotaku Stream - https://www.twitch.tv/bloo561 Current Bracket - http://challonge.com/RTCEO6
  9. RIP the dream (Granted we only had 4 people at the time of cancelation)
  10. True but i dont want it to be confined in a chat room people that want to join can and should have the opportunity to do so.
  11. - First to 10 Wins - 2/3 Rounds - Character Change allowed only on new sets or lose round (But preferally better if you stick to one character thoughout the set) - Mitsuru (School Yard at Night), Yukiko (Music Room) and top of tower stages only My goal for this is to help players find more people to fight and hopefully players can get something out of this. Hope to see you there!
  12. I see everybody's point and accept that maybe at the moment a ranking system is bad idea. Do hope it can be established someday. Sorry if I gave anybody trouble and thanks for listening to some dude who really cares about the scene.
  13. There is two solutions to ranking system that could be used. Solution 1: Make a 1v1 ranking system silimar to how most in-game systems do where you have to fight someone higher than you to rank up and to move out of ranking group/dan. Best example is any arc sys game or tekken ranking system. Solution 2 : Make a system where it will calculate a player's best performances given a certain time period. Meaning that players that go to more tournaments have the same oppounity as players who go to fewer. The best example to this is http://smashboards.com/rankings/
  14. That's exactly why a ranking system would be beneficial. It's hard to be bias with results and with us growing as a community and having more events from anime only tournaments to the massive growth in net play tournaments we have a chance to grow.
  15. Hey guys, during the reformation of Dustloop last year I made a suggestion to make a dustloop ranking system of sorts. After thinking about for a while I thought I can rebring up the idea when the website is fully formatted and see if there is a interest in that kind of thing below. Below will be two images of a "idea" of a ranking system. I always thought that if we make a system like this it will give motivation and competition to forums and the communities inside them. Any thoughts or suggestions for this would mean a lot cause even though I'm not a staff member of Dustloop I feel the community as a whole would greatly benefit with this type of system.
  16. You know im in Bloo561
  17. Sorry I had finals that week and I finally have time to critique it Yeah like you said you need to learn effective combos http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=P4AU/Yu_Narukami/Combos here's a link to all the developed combos players have made and if I have to suggest combo i would learn all the 5a starter combos cause most of time you can apply it to most of the others (simple one anyway), a few of the 5b starter combos cause people will get hit by it as it is a pretty good poke, one good corner combos perferably one that ends in a 214b knockdown and maybe 1 5c starter combo as they are the hardest the hit but if you do get one like from a blocked dp or by chance make sure you dont waste it as it will do big damage. Trust me when I say this. SHIFT STRIKE IS NOT YOUR FRIEND I spent a good deal of my persona life doing zio cars (and so many people can defend me on that) and they spent that time punishing the crap out of me. Zio car in this game espically is fatal recovery meaning if you are not careful you will get hit hard because of a blocked D zio car. Use them only for combos unless you are trying to make a guess at your opponent and even then make sure you have 50 meter to get out of it if you guessed wrong. Finally just be careful with your DPs. People are waiting for them and you have to be careful cause a blocked dp means bad news for you and unlike shift strike you can not one more cancel it so it's either all of nothing. I feel that is enough for now. Safer play is way more lame but it will help you get stronger there is time to be really aggresive like after a knockdown, but you have to find those moments or create them for yourself first. Hope this helps!
  18. From the footage it seems like there was a good amount of lag. Can you record another set?
