  1. Against Robo-Ky, you're going to want to take advantage of the fact that he is crap without tension. his specials suck, he can't really combo, etc. As such, I would say the Baiken will in general be a bit more aggresive because in neutral positions, RK will gladly sit on mats while Baiken gets nothing. If RK starts the round off with 6p or 5H, he is leaving himself at major frame disadvantage. If he opens with these moves you can easily block, IAD in and do a decent punish. f.S is kinda similar, but not quite as punishable (however Baiken's f.S is faster than RK's f.S)
  2. Look man as far as I know VV is good in pretty much every matchup so you can't really say Sol has any bad matchups.
  3. I don't know what the deal is with Robo's 5d. Sure it's the fastest, but it's hella telegraphed and still slower than Slayer's, Millia's, Eddie's, Testament's, Potemkin's, Zappa's, and Chipp's other ground overheads as well as Baiken's Jam's Venom's Millia's TK overheads.
  4. the first two video links, me vs. John, are the same.
  5. Old news to me. Sadly I have not learned
  6. dooing Robo dash requires Robo to be running for roughly 20 frames (a lot less in Countdown Super mode) before he can perform the attack, so he needs to be either: A) full screen away/close to full screen B) running at you after a knockdown C) running at you after you are stuck blocking ground bazooka or tk air missiles If he tries running at you without one of those scenarios, just throw out a long range normal (6H if you have time, 5H otherwise) because he won't have time to robo dash you otherwise. If you DO fulfill one of the above conditions, you really ought to just either backdash or (better yet) 1f jump out. if he closes in on you, he can either cmd grab or robo dash, both of which hurt, knockdown, and give him tension. If you anticipate the throw and try to do any attack (even OD) you will get CH out of it. Likewise if you expect the dash and you block (cause you know you have no attack that will beat it) then he gets a free grab. backdashing helps both situations since JO's is quite good, and means you probably won't get hit by the dash if you try to backdash it (though not quite sure). 1f jumping eliminates that worry altogether, so I would suggest that.
  7. I would love to go, but I start school too soon and I'm working :/ good luck though.
  8. yeah I guess if I knew a bit more about Ino I would know better, but most either look the same as standard Ino combos, except the ones that are kinda sillier but worse (like using forcebreak, ending without knockdown). I agree tech throws seem a bit obvious most of the time. Also the first clip against ABA she ordinarily doesn't get hit with full screen notes, but meh. I respect the video because Inos low tier and HCL frc combos are hard to begin with EDIT: I had no idea opponents became heavier when dizzied, that's pretty strange
  9. 2k is only 1 frame faster than 2d but 2d doesn't prorate and 2k prorates 70%. Then again you can do 2k>2h>GV while 2d doesn't give you that option. Expert Sol Badguy here
  10. I take it back, all Slayer has to do is hit 44 and he is out of pressure Y_Y
  11. For 75% you basically have an unblockable launcher for lots of damage 2H RC >fafnir>stuff
  12. Not really. Closest you get is with heat: 214s>5h frc 66 > [c.S > 214S 66 ] xN assuming a) you don't hit the corner b) you have heat and c) you have over 50% tension to make horsie a level 3. corner missile combos also do a lot, but still not 80%. Then again both are quite specific anyways.
  13. Damn dude and you called ME old Happy Bday nontheless
  14. Yeah you can FRC for mixup, but you generally don't do that (and I know this because I've played you a lot) because you have plenty of other mixup that already works insanely well on it's own. knockdown into Dandystep > anything is what I usually see because it's super ambiguous and tensionless, but feel free to let me know if that is drastically wrong. It just seems like the argument is more or less stating that Slayer is good, versus Sol is bad. A lot of characters have to make bad risk/reward decisions against Slayer, but that is one of the reasons why Slayer is S tier and most characters are not. From a non-matchup oriented viewpoint, Sol has good damage, speed, average health, good abare, and just about always tensionless knockdown. Sure you can say his mixup sucks ( not that bad with a command throw as well as the fastest normal in the game ) but most people only say that because he has no ground overhead other than 5d (which sucks). It seems like Sol's true weakness is his weakness to getting zoned out. I just don't see why a comparison of Sol's moves to Slayer's 6p frc is an accurate representation of the character as a whole.
  15. Yeah I'm well aware of this fact. What I don't understand is why you would think it's an awful matchup for Sol because of it. For one thing, Slayer's 6p is good (and most people know that by now) However, how many Slayers are you gonna see using it as Okizeme? Certainly none I've seen, because it's defiantely not mixup and certainly doesn't really lead into any type of blockstring or mixup. If Robo does 5p on Sols getup, then Robo can hold back and option select meaty 5p that will still recover in 4 frames and block a reversal S-VV (5 frames). Does this make it a bad matchup for Sol? I don't hardly think so, all it requires is Sol actually learns to block.
  16. It really seems like all of the "Sol isn't top tier because..." arguments are all pretty silly, along the lines of: - VV can be baited, and GV and Riot Stomp lose to moves. Now sure, if you're playing an opponent who trys to VV all the time and spams Riot Stomp of course he's going to look like a shit character. Sure VV is an amazing move, but you won't see good japanese players throwing it randomly out there all the time (ignore Daigo). Sols that actually use good spacing techniques (5h, jump+fd, jumpin j.H (one of the better jump ins in the game) Not to mention his run speen is one of the fastest in the game. And don't even get me started on his abare. Basically anything can be easily hitconfirmed into ground gatling X > 2H > Grandviper Clean for pretty much lots of tensionless knockdown damage. Plus it work really far away (crouching or non). If you have an excellent knowledge of how his Clean hits work, you can go into tensionless knockdown Sidewinder loops off damn near anything (permitted you actually know what you're doing). I'm not tryin to claim Sol has what it takes to be top tier, but I can see him in middle B-tier.
  17. don't knock the color, clearly you haven't seen my stick. You guys like that IK setup? Also good shit on that burst cancel combo, I have yet to do that (not that I've bothered practicing, but it's cool) EDIT: Second half of the videos are up, so here they are Wekk (RO) vs Josh (AB) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nohn7OpabfI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ9bJ-ED_0s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qvpA6g8e4_Q Wekk (RO) vs Brent-quest (SO) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FPH0AAJwOaI Wekk (RO) vs Chickenfat (AX) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXWAp7UT7lY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZokpmIL9IuQ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PpT6i9p5Ij0 Paul (DI) vs Wekk (RO) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X1YN3w5Fdjg Wekk (RO) vs SH (ED) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bp8XU8ZdnVQ

There's actually gonna be more matches up as soon as Kyle/Eric finish uploading the matches. Enjoy
  19. How?
  20. Generally if you get DPed out of pressure string moves, it means one of a few things a) most likely you got too repetitive with your blockstrings, to the point where you get punished out of moves like 6k (happens if you try other long startup moves as well like 5d) b) your opponent has amazing reaction time to DP a 6k on reaction. Probably not the case, but if it is you're kinda out of luck.
  21. Yeah looking back it wasn't close to 40, I was just going based on what I saw of the crappy Youtube resolution. Still nice after instant overhead though CH Oissu! > 6H was pretty lols too
  22. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aja7XBYXAOk at 4:05 hot combo on PO crouching: FDC j.k>JC>j.k>j.S>j.p>j.HS>5p>2d>2s>j.k>j.D for knockdown damn near 40% on PO with some guts on too.
  23. d.s© means dashing close slash, not down slash
  24. I think what you're looking for is "carpal tunnel"
  25. Give me a year and depending on job opportunities I might move to Cal. It could be anywhere, but we'll see
