  1. NOW I REMEMBERED. The Pot player who lost to Alexei was Tae, NOT Zig. Zig would use 6p and backdash to bait Dizzy's IAD j.2s, so I'm pretty sure. Could you fix the title? Thanks.
  2. That must be me, lol. I don't know what happened... Maybe I gave up the match?? I don't know. Actually there were 4 including Stag.S from Calgary.
  3. PLEASE keep our practice match vids in our thread.... Here, I was merely trying out some block strings and new corner setups so these are not even worth watching, lol. Stefan, if you see this, I request you delete these, lol.
  4. WHAT??!!!! If they feature 9TNine, ChuckTug, Sytha's match, I demand those vids!!!! It's just unfair (for who? don't ask.. lol) not to have their match vids posted.
  5. Thanks Paul!!!! Oh man, I should really work on how to play without mashing throws. And lol @ my performance in the finals. Btw, the Dizzy player who played Zig wasn't me.
  6. No, it doesn't have anything to do with whether it's arcade version or console or whatever. Just like you, I didn't believe that her j.2s had throw invincibility.... until I saw THIS VID. If what you are saying is true, then all Yossan had to do was to just get used to it and then he should've been able to airthrow Dizzy without any problem, but as you can see in the vid, he didn't bother airthrowing her at all. Rather than going for airthrow, Yossan was trying to beat her j.2s with j.p most of time. Btw, Dizzy gets screwed when she's airthrown by I-no. Although the frame data doesn't really say that, Dizzy's j.2s certainly has throw invincibility for some weird reason. I'd like to know why as well. The reason you were able to airthrow Dizzy while she was doing j.2s was probably because you threw her slightly before the startup of j.2s. Hopefully you won't say that to Yossan.
  7. I never knew you could do it that way as well. Thanks for the post.
  8. @zer0kage Sorry but I'd like to correct a couple things said by other people. 1. Don't use 6p for antiair. Stick to 2s and airthrow for antiair. 2. Airthrow is certainly good but not excellent because j.HS's recovery time is horrible (Imagine if you miss airthrow and whiff j.HS... ). To get around this problem, go for airthrow only when you are sure about it, or do the high jump before going for airthrow. 3. 5hs is the longest ground normal.
  9. How often would you rely on starship FRC on wakeup? Truth:

    AC: Matchups

Hmm... I'll just add to what Nehle said... 1. Slayer has many options to stop Dizzy when he has over 50% tension. EX: RC'ed mappa, his overdrive DOT (ON REACTION!!!) 2. Slayer has even more options once he's close. Slayers normals are just too good... 3. Damage.. enough said. Okizeme wise... why does Slayer have the same throw range as Dizzy...? -_- It's a hard matchup for Dizzy. And bubble works kinda alright in this matchup, assuming Slayer doesn't have 50% tension. DOT hurts...
  11. If you ever decide to go to Seoul, S. Korea... Make sure that you go to Isu Theme Park Gameland, which is next to Isu subway station. This is where the best GG and MB players in Korea play, and you'll be amazed to see how much one game costs (it's really cheap). And don't worry about transportation in Seoul since you can go pretty much anywhere by subway (it's just like in Tokyo).

@Dark And you'll want to save your burst until Eddie does his puddle unblockable, which has the highest chance of making Dizzy dizzy...

@Blue vs Baiken's HS and K counters: try to bait it. So just poke her with 2k and stop there. If she did K or HS counter then you should have enough time to go for a throw. Baiting with FRCed 2HS works well too. vs Anji's guard points: just don't poke him without the fish around. @Dark vs jumpy Pot: keep backdashing (or IAD back if necessary) and when you are far enough then just summon. Prioritize summoning over anti airing him. Dizzy has tools to keep Pot from jumping toward her. vs Eddie's 6p: 6p is not a very good move for poking; its startup is 13 frames so even Dizzy's 2d should be able to beat it...

    AC: Combos

Yes. In the midscreen, you can do a followup like 2p, f.s, 236hs for knockdown, only if they are kinda close to you when they get hit by the ice spike.
  15. *waits for singles vids* Although some people told me it was pretty bad (single elim. & single match, I believe), but still....
  16. Can't wait to see how Pat's Millia did in BC. I already know the outcome but still.. it should be interesting to watch.

    AC: Strategy Guide

I think this should go to General Discussion but here we go. Keep in mind that the command for dashing is actually 656 and for AD it is 956.

    AC: Combos

Well.. you can try to end your combo with gamma ray instead of doing the bubble loop. Ex 1. D /\ j.D (2 hit) 214K j.H |> 64641236H Ex 2. (midscreen oki after throw) 214H,H IAD 214S (laser hits) j.H |> 64641236H So you just replace 421S with 64641236H. EDIT: @Necrosis http://youtube.com/watch?v=MoJmcln0S4M
  19. It sounds like you're just doing j.2s too early. You should input j.2s when you almost lose the momentum after IAD, so that after j.h, you drop quickly and you can connect with j.k. That's the best way I can describe it. >_< Nevertheless, you are definitely doing j.2s too early. On the other hand, if you do j.2s too late, j.h hits as OTG, just so you know.

    AC: Matchups

Wait... why would you want to counter every single one of Pot's opening moves? I thought Dizzy's opening move vs Pot is all about getting away from Pot (so just backdash or IAD back). Hmm... I don't know... Heat knuckle's startup is 14 frame and I think Dizzy can IAD backward faster than that... Sorry if it's wrong.

    AC: Matchups

Yeah.. sure... lol *starts counting the number of CHitting a CERTAIN Axl player at Random Select (12/15/07) with ice spike* Ice spike works. Edit: but CH P, 2P, or 6K with ice spike is too risky imo so CH his j.s with ice spike.
  22. I never thought of that. Thanks a lot. EDIT: I just had time to test it and IAD SB works marvelously. I didn't know you could SB during AD. Good stuff.
  23. Hi, I've been practicing the midscreen oki (throw -> H fish -> delayed IAD -> so forth) but it doesn't seem to work on Axl for some weird reason... I just can't get over to the other side. Is it just me or is there something about Axl that makes the oki hard to execute?

    Bridget Q & A

Yeah, I recently switched to stick just so I can play Buri. (I'm still getting used to stick though..) Now that's an awesome tip. I'll try it right away. Thank you and have a happy thanksgiving, sir!! Edit: the result --> http://youtube.com/watch?v=hM5T7QTXNmg Now I'm getting hang of this.

    Bridget Q & A

Hi, I've been practicing this.. but it's so hard. Do most people do this by switching fingers (that's how I'm doing it btw) or is there a better way? Or do people just memorize the timing and do it with one finger?
