  1. Anything special about this matchup? I missed my chance to play a good Testament player this weekend, so I'm curious now.
  2. Because Zappa is missing some gatling that doesn't allow him to c.S, it will come out as f.S instead. I liked it!
  3. She's Eddie.
  4. Oh wait not arctic impaler I meant the spinning axes. Thought it was arctic impaler the whole time. o_o
  5. I'm not sure if this will work everytime but I've started to GV on reaction when she uses arctic impaler and whiffed f.S. Of course, it has to be really early. f.S might be easier to react to, haven't actually tested it out in training but I've been getting some free 200 dmg GVs when I react well. Of course maybe about 1/3rd of the time I'm slow, she blocks, and if I don't have tension she does whatever she wants to me. Anyone else successful with this?
  6. So what are Mei Fang, Saki and Maori's most useful/flexible arcana selections? Basic Mei Fang goes with fire, and water was already said to be good. Anything else flow with these 3? These are the characters I play of course :P I'm still an Arcana scrub.
  7. Yeah. :P This doesn't mean I don't use it. I do back off half the time, though. Especially against like Jam where simple ground gatling can be 150+ dmg. She can 6P Sol's 5K and get that big gatling off, she can also 2S into 6P for more A tier flexibility (too many ways to get into that damn gatling! It also jacks guard bar to hell so even if you block it...). Just too damn dangerous if you know they see your RC coming up. By all means GV RC, it's only bad if you get punished but 2D BR RC is a bit safer if you don't auto BR on blocked 2Ds (Not safer but it's tensionless until you spend it*). Edit: Oh you said VV RC? We were talking about GV RC earlier so I guess I overlooked that. I like VV RC, it's not completely safe either but I do use it a lot. Also I think we're getting a bit off topic. :P Sorry about that, we should be discussing more Sol vs. Sol related stuff, no?
  8. I always get counter thrown or poked on the way in. I've sat down and told the people I play often to watch my tension and now if they see it able to be RC'd they wait for RC and counter poke / throw immediately. I guess it also depends on when you RC it. I haven't actually tested to see if opponent can beat Sol every time with a good guess 2P or throw (especially people with above average throw ranges, I play a dizzy a lot) but that's why I typically back out now if I've used the setup before on someone.
  9. If the opponent blocks a GV, sees that 50%+ tension, and is a decent player you probably will want to just back off to be safe. GV RC > WT really only works on people who don't watch tension or haven't seen that setup before.
  10. Use gimmicks like gimmicks.

    Sol vs Ky

I see a lot of general things (off the top of my head, the whole grand viper practice thing). Should probably keep it to things strictly about the match up.
  12. Personally, I like GF on 2D CH.
  13. That is pretty much the reason why. Blocked GV is already asking for it, whiffing is
  14. Awesome read. Good luck with the whole teaming issue, seems like things are looking up though.
  15. Oooooh. I failed to see the Soru connection.
  16. I don't know if kusoru is even a word. The closest thing I know of is kuso suru which to fantasize.
  17. I find FRCing the mat makes it a hell of a lot easier. On some characters like Dizzy I don't think regular jump S, D / P, D are possible without FRC. I might just be failing again. Mat FRC is fairly easy though.
  18. I do recall seeing P.C CLSW loops...
  19. I'm still more afraid of P.C and the former isa than Kusoru. Not gonna' lie though, Kusoru got some crazy shit. Btw, it's unorthodox.
  20. Anyone else having a little difficulty doing this on Johnny? Or am I just teeeeh faaaaail?[
  21. I personally find it to be extremely rarely practical. I think every move has it's use, but that doesn't mean it should be used. It also says it's invincible to strikes from 19-21. I have yet to see the invincibility used in a serious match. Also, Schank! Read your PMs! You live in Jersey. :O Should post up on the NJ thread in the match finder forum.
  22. Good news. JUSTICE FOR LIFE!
  23. Nives and I have talked kind of a lot about this matchup in the past, but just to get some discussion going, is there anyway Sol should respond to certain things ABA does? For a really basic example, stuff like going for KD's after Moroha mode (even though that's pretty general).
  24. Wow, nice sticks, Hideki and hedgeshot.
