  2. I'll chime in here real quick regarding the wiki. Currently Zaku III is not a unit that is high on our priority list for translation work so if you want to jump in and do some work on his page we would love for you to. Anything at all is appreciated, even if you want to just make his basic page skeleton. Currently he has nothing and at our current workload and rate of completion he won't have much for a while. Been a while so I figured I'd post a progress update akai_GO and I used green particle magic to finish 00's page It's like 98% done, just needs a few little things and it's finished, but I figured I'd post it here anyway. Coming in the near future: Banshee 00 Quanta Sinanju Zeong edit: as a side note, a while back people were requesting God's quotes be done, but I think I forgot to post about it when they were finished, so there they are as for future unit quotes, akai_GO and I have started collaborating to finish unit pages faster, so what is likely going to happen is that unit quotes will just be added as we work on pages together, and we'll get around to adding quotes for already-completed pages sometime in the future.

OK, was going through a lot of pages trying to figure out who I felt like TLing next and we may have a problem with certain units, like poor Acguy here: http://www4.atwiki.jp/arcgundamexvsfuvo/pages/29.html He literally has no tactics section. So maybe if we want to keep an open list of units that need some kind soul to write a paragraph or two about how to play them and maybe a bit about bursts for them that might be a good thing.

And I am sure some people have noticed a large different in unit response section size-- simply put, some units have a LOT more responses than others. From now on I'm probably just going to do responses in conjuction with tactics sections (and might go back and do responses for some tactics sections I've already done) edit: based on popular request, next set of quotes is God, lol

Pheeeew LaGOWE's tactics are done http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=LaGOWE_(EXVSFB)#EX_Burst_Selection Of particular interest here is the piece that someone added to the JP wiki very recently about 1000/1000 cost combinations with ReGZ (it's at the very bottom) Apparently she gives the 1000/1000 cost comp a leg up if she makes good usage of her BWS purges. Basically the idea is that the other 1k acts as a decoy for the enemies and she gets to land tons of damage with her normal ranged + BWS purges. Movin' on to Ksha's tactics now. Will probably come back and finish up LaGOWE's page a bit later, all he's missing is his melee weapon info and his combos and he'll be finished.
  9. Oooh you're gonna do Turn A, nice. I will probably proofread your work and add in his weapons/tactics data then. LaGOWE is coming along nicely, should be done with him soon and then onto Ksha and then I'll prob hop in with you on Turn A unless you want to try your hand at translating his stuff (in which case I will just go through and work with/correct whatever you do) And yeah please don't worry about weird damage values like that. There are plenty of values on the JP wiki where not even they are certain about some exact attack damage values. As for notation, 90% of the time I use ABC with directional inputs etc. It's easier (to my eyes) to read and understand especially for combos, although I guess some beginners may find it initially confusing I think it's overall the easier way so it's best they learn to read it that way.
  10. Yeah gonna also echo that the Extremes are some pages I've been avoiding as well, but if you wanna do them more power to you. Any unit with any kind of transform is going to be more difficult than ones without. One thing: I'd like it if we keep at least one page as a "template" page to easily copy for creating the skeletons of other pages. I've pretty much just been copying Stargazer's page over and over these past couple days doing the unit responses (RX-78, Chargoog and Acguy are up btw, Zeong later today) because it's the closest to a blank template I've found (several other units have different skeletons/structure set up) but if there's a better way we can have a stock page template that would be cool. One thing about the unit responses: TONS of these are quotes ripped verbatim from the shows, I actually had to skim through 1-2 episodes of MSG again to figure out a few of them because they are presented out of context (like Char's win screen line about a Zeon medal of honor makes no sense if you haven't seen the scene it's from) so if anyone sees a quote and knows the proper line from the show please feel free to replace my translations. I'm probably going to do all the base units before touching the DLC. Trying to do one per day but some units have quite a few unique responses so they might take longer.

Google Translate alone is going to be nearly useless for this wiki because they use tons of japanese fighting game terms and EXVS-exclusive lingo (akai_GO put up a list of them which does help some) which google translate simply cannot read. Needless to say, I don't think many people need to worry about spicy aircraft and spirit warfare when playing LaGOWE. That said, this really only applies to the sections where they get deep into game mechanics like the tactics sections. You can (and I think burgerkong has) probably skate by on using Google and a combination of Rikaikun (fabulous chrome extension) to handle most of the tables. We're very short-handed on help so really anything at all is helpful. There are a ton of pages that burgerkong has already put up on Google Docs but need to be properly transcribed to the wiki pages and it would be a huge help if you (or anyone else) wanted to do even one of those. You can usually find the google doc linked at the top of the unit pages.
  12. Welcome back man. It's no big deal, I've been slacking too and only got back into working on it recently. Trying to do 1 unit's tactics per week and doing the unit responses for fun. Doing them in order atm, RX-78's will be up later today. Incidentally LaGOWE's tactics are done and on the wiki now, burst selection and partners are up next and should be done in a couple days. I'll look over Banshee for sure.

I too wanted to copy the JP wiki's table style verbatim because it looks so nice but I think it's some kind of feature of their wiki software, I wasn't able to duplicate it using the wiki we're using. Might just have to do the excel table and reorganize it a bit Probably best to just make a redlock range table page like the JP wiki has and link to it in the bottom bar. That's probably going to be easier than editing EVERY single unit page to put in just the redlock data. I also think it's easier to understand the redlock comparatively between units rather than as just a number isolated from context
  15. Raph's tactics are up. Will probably touch them up and fill out the rest of his page eventually. Is burgerkong still around? I'm moving onto finishing up LaGOWE next, and after that Kshatriya. I was interested in Banshee, but he was working on Banshee so I dunno if he already had some of it finished or what. Looks like akai_GO already TLed basically everything from Banshee's page except for the tactics, which is what I would do.
  16. I apologize for my lack of activity on this. I translate stuff for a living so also translating this stuff on the side is a little draining but I've been chipping away at it. Raphael's tactics are halfway done (already on the wiki) and I'm going to go back and do LaGOWE after that. I'm just going to go through and crank through tactics sections like I had initially planned, because these seem the most useful for overall unit gameplans for people who are curious what to do with a unit. One fun thing that might be nice for the pages is the unique unit responses that units have. By that I mean what you can see here http://www41.atwiki.jp/gundam-vs-gnsk/pages/771.html where Angelo has unique responses when paired with/against certain units. Obviously this has less priority than actual game data, but these are relatively quick and easy to translate, and there aren't many of them. I get a lot of questions on Twitter about these special dialogues and I figure there are plenty of other people wondering what the characters are saying to each other as well, so it might be nice to have these on the wiki as well.
  17. Depends strongly on where you are located. You will get faster and more reliable connections to people in NA of course, but EU and JP are playable. Redbars don't always mean unplayable, it just means the connection is not going to be amazing, and you will notice a certain amount of sluggishness in most cases (especially if you play in ranked with 3 other people who are red/yellow to you.). PSN doesn't "think" you are in Asia. If you are west coast you'll get slightly better connections to JP players. But regardless of where you are located in NA, you should have no issues playing with other people in the NA region. And I don't think you can even apply an online pass to a US account. It has to come through the JP PSN store.

  20. Definitely agree with Noin Taurus, especially EW. Lady Une Vayeate or Taurus would be really nice as well. But yeah half the problem with GWTV suits is not only are there very few of them, it seems like they blow them up or lose them every 5 episodes and then they don't show up again until way later.
  21. I imagine if they do a version of Sandrock it will be either EW Sandrock or Sandrock Armadillo, because he actually does stuff in Glory of Losers so there's material for them to work with. Plus the potential to promote the manga etc. I finished watching Wing a bit ago and I swear Sandrock shows up in like 3 episodes total and all Quatre does is bonk things with the heat scimitars so I feel like there's not a whole lot for them to work with to make him interesting.

  23. The stuff for this summer event is running from 7/16-8/31 according to the FB website as well so it seems like we might get them on a similar schedule to MB or shortly after. The 7.6k Unicorn thing is just Full Boost game + Banagher costume + Audrey navi + Unicorn gauge design

These will be part of the translation terms list page, but I think we can definitely throw them and other important terms like amekyan etc. into the system explanation page. And yeah 100% agreement on the more skilled players here probably being able to straight up write the counterstrategy pages. Right now honestly the #1 priority is getting suit pages TLed, for sure.
  25. Banshee has an entirely separate and gigantic page devoted entirely to her NT-D mode so I will be glad to help out with it if you need any. I am probably gonna crank through LaGOWE and then probably work on Ksha or X2. Looks like Ksha is nearly done already, just needs to have her stuff transposed and then tactics added etc. Assuming I can get through LaGOWE I'll probably also add the translation terms page this week as well. Got it mostly where I want it, just need to format it etc. If I'm being honest I'm mostly working on units I'd like to see translated before moving on to other stuff; after that's done, if there is a particular unit that a lot of people would like to see translated I'll be glad to pick up that one. Otherwise, progress will just be transposing units that already have their stuff done and then just kind of moving down the list on the JP wiki. On top of that I'd still like to do the unit counterstrategy pages, but it's low priority because it's basically several pages of extremely dense countermeasure plans for each unit. Additionally, they have some interesting beginner guide stuff in there, I think 90% of it is already covered by Brett's guide but they have some nice tables on cost class combinations that might be worth pulling out.
