  1. Got LaGOWE started up. Aiming to crank out 1 page per week... most of the basic unit info is about the same in length, but tactics pages vary massively in length so it really depends. (Xi is one paragraph, several units have an entire separate page, etc) Went through and fixed up the stuff on Berga/Gaia. 死ぬのは嫌 is awkward to translate directly so I just put it as "I don't wanna die!" which sounds nicer in English than the direct translation from Japanese. I think Berga's burst attack name might be a direct quote from F91 but I'm not sure where from. About 与ダメ in Berga, it's short for 与ダメージ and it's explained here http://netyougo.com/on/9141.html. It's a common term in online games and just means "damage given". The antonym is 被ダメージ "damage taken" 出しきり is weirder, it generally means "to use up" but in EXVS context it appears to be used with reference to a melee combo endpoint. Could be wrong, if somebody has a better idea feel free to correct. なぎ払われて is 薙ぎ払われて which means to be mowed down.
  2. Whoops, my bad on the F91 mistranslation. It was right at the end so I think I read it a little too fast. Edited original post to be fixed. And yeah the Japanese is a little weird. Half the time I have to turn on the game and mess around a little bit just to make sure I understand what they are talking about, which is tough when they talk about units like Brave or Penelope that I don't have access to, so if someone who has had a chance to actually play MB can tell that those are improperly/strangely translated just let me know and I'll fix it.
  3. Mm, do you happen to have a twitter? We could coordinate these sorts of things in the future. I think you are in one of the Skype groups I am in so I could say something there as well, and we could just split the workload or something.

[note: as mentioned before, this phrase " 技発動前の移動速度を、より引き継ぐようにしました" appeared several times. I do believe it means the attack inherits your movement speed, but if there's a better TL for this or I've misinterpreted please feel free to correct me]
  5. Appears in wiki terms list, 地上撃ち 地上で静止した状態で撃つこと。振り向き撃ちや足の止まる射撃(静止撃ち)は地上で撃つとブースト消費がない(使用後に浮いてしまうタイプを除く)。 Just means firing while stationary on the ground like Brett said, and consumes no boost. I need to hurry up and finish this terms thing because I feel like it will answer a lot of questions, it's just there's quite a lot of them lol.
  6. Went through and did some of the untranslated stuff. Just some quickie explanations: For Turn X ふっ飛ばし is 吹っ飛ばし which is fighting game terminology for an attack that blows your opponent away. 吹っ飛ばしダウン in this case means it blows them away and downs them. I'm working on the terms list right now and I'll probably go ahead and add this. Master's were a little bit weirder. "Grandpa's pajamas" is just about the best term I've heard for a phenomenon in this game, and it's explained in more detail here http://toro.2ch.net/test/read.cgi/gamerobo/1352531105/608 Basically, because of the increase in down value on his 5sub sometimes it will do no damage to the enemy if they have almost no down value remaining, but it will still wrap them in the pink cloth. For some reason this is called "grandpa's pajamas". For the second one with the nonsense about ハエコン, ハエ is just a popular name for his chibi-master summon + abbv. for "combo", so just combos involving his summons. The sentence just seems to imply that his chibi-masters worked differently in previous GvG installments and they're just used differently in EXVS. I don't know how they worked in older GvG games but they seem to imply that they had better homing abilities if the opponent moved. Third one for master, 電影弾 is just abbv. for the green tornado-y attack (2BC) Big thanks to whoever is going through and creating all the skeleton pages btw.
  7. Nu tactics, burst, and partners added. As usual, in case of factual errors please feel to mention it and it will be fixed.
  8. There are 2 pages on the wiki that detail what all the Japanese terms mean. http://www4.atwiki.jp/arcgundamexvsfuvo/pages/157.html Weapons Glossary and http://www4.atwiki.jp/arcgundamexvsfuvo/pages/158.html Names/Nicknames (this one is slightly less useful because 50% of it is Japanese jokes about the unit names, but the top half is quite handy for common term names) I've translated one of them and was planning to do the other one-- these are not going to be particularly useful to people who want to just play the game, but for anyone trying to translate the Japanese stuff it will be useful. It goes over some of the weird/joke terms you might see floating around the wiki as well as common terms like followup/startup that have unintuitive Japanese counterparts (I think this was mentioned) I think there was some discussion in this topic or another one about what the Japanese terms are supposed to mean, so hopefully this will be helpful to anyone translating. I need to edit it a bit and then I'll post the first one soon. My apologies for not contributing much over the past couple weeks, I've been busy with other translation work which drained my enthusiasm for translating the wiki. Nu's tactics are basically done and I'm just going to chip away at other pages that are complete or near-complete on the wiki, starting with F91. For stuff to work on as far as translating, if anyone is interested, there are unit counter-strategies by cost class for each unit: http://www4.atwiki.jp/arcgundamexvsfuvo/pages/118.html 3000 http://www4.atwiki.jp/arcgundamexvsfuvo/pages/119.html 2500 http://www4.atwiki.jp/arcgundamexvsfuvo/pages/120.html 2000 http://www4.atwiki.jp/arcgundamexvsfuvo/pages/121.html 1000 I plan to get around to these myself but if anyone wants to translate a unit they really hate fighting, knocking even one unit off the massive list of to-do is a big help!
  9. Did a little research, this technique seems to be demonstrated in this video at :52 http://youtu.be/yml0Un6o_N0?t=52s アチャキャンとは...アシストをチャージショット(CS)でキャンセルすることを言います。 アチャキャン (Achakyan) = Cancelling your assist into charge shot without your assist ever actually activating? 小ジャンプアチャキャンはBDした瞬間にタタン!!とアチャキャンをやる感じです。 小ジャンプアチャキャン = While boost dashing, doing a small jump and instantly cancelling your assist into charge shot as soon as you hear the "tatan!" of the charge completion. I just tried it, It seems to be very finicky and I'm not sure what the benefit of it is, he seems to just say his dialogue he says when he normally summons his assist, except he doesn't summon it. In the video it does look like it launches him diagonally toward the ground though. edit: misread the sentence, fixed
  10. Ez8 updated with tactics stuff. Please let me know if I've gotten something factually wrong and I'll amend it.
  11. Hambrabi updated with tactics/burst/partner data.
  12. Zeta updated with tactics info and team comp stuff. Let me know if anything is out of place or wrong, particularly I am not sure about the advice given for pairing with Impulse, the wiki was short-worded on this (and I don't know much about Impulse) so it may need correction.
  13. Sent you a PM with my gmail. Let me know if it'll be a hassle to add me to so many docs and we can set up something else if you like. Also, if you use Chrome, I highly recommend the plugin "Rikaikun" it's excellent for quickly figuring out a word that you don't know's definition. It lets you mouseover words and will display their meaning. Google Translate is good in a pinch but sometimes the translations it gives are wrong because it will actually ignore grammar in many cases (it cannot distinguish between certain verb forms and will translate them in the wrong tense). However if you're not familiar with grammar it might be difficult to put the pieces together in some cases. Yeah I know of at least one other person (vedasisme) who I've seen translations from so I'll try to avoid overlapping with their stuff.
  14. Hey there, as Mightfo said I've also started doing some translations of the FB wiki pages. I'd like to collaborate if you're up for it. I had started a little wiki for this but it looks like you're much further along with this on Google Docs, so I'd be glad to collaborate there if you like. If you want to keep working on the tables etc. that would free me up to translate the tactics/team comp sections etc. I'd also be glad to proofread your stuff and fix it up a little if needed. The actual parts where they are going into tactics etc. are moderately technical (and I had to translate a terminology page first to make sense of some of what they're talking about in some places) so I'm fine with handling the tactics + friends & enemies sections etc. if you like.
