And here I was, believing people played the characters they actually liked. Shame on me. I mean, it's not like they play Millia, Ram, Zato or Faust. I even hear Sol and Ky are rare. Damn, my logic fails me again....
-
Hopefully this time around they get the combat right. Combos and neutral feel so clunky in MK games. And don't get me started on Injustice. Here's to hoping for improved mechanics. Or to the end of the series. I'm cool with either.

That was basically my point. Full screen stein spam, while not quite as safe as staff launch, was still safe and VERY difficult and annoying to deal with for a lot of characters (I despised the Mu/Bullet matchup). At some point steins should have been toned down in some way, and I think they did the right thing. You have to use them carefully now, which I believe is the way they should have been in the 1st place, as opposed to LOL jump back xd totsuka. And to answer your question, I do not believe so. From what I've seen (very little I'll admit) it doesn't look like it's been touched.

The threat of wakeup super is often more effective than the super itself. It's a defensive mind game that I wish more people would take advantage of. Elphelt players who KNOW their character realize just how bad she is on wakeup, which is a detriment to that option because if the opponent knows this, means wake up super is a gamble with usually half your life at stake.

You are definitely right that it would have been ridiculous. Flip being faster is still a plus and the B Feather Arrow and 5B buff sound pretty good still. The only thing that sucks is that I don't know if (or how) it will affect combos, because I'm still trying to adjust myself to her current ones. I still stand by saying that she just got a lot harder to fight against though.
-
Because people see I-No more than Venom, which in turn makes her a better character in the majority opinion. (Doesn't make sense to me either, but hey it is what it is)
-
Being reckless with staff launch? Yeah ok.... There are Mu players in this very thread who have stated that it is in fact unfair to a LOT of the cast. I still don't see your point as to WHY Mu NEEDS full screen lasers to be good. Perhaps you can elaborate.
-
Litchi can't either. And it's a bigger risk now because if she gets reckless, it can be a LONG time before she sees the pole again. Well spoken. Overall I believe she got buffed, but you can't just fall into those same old patterns of run away stein, 5C when they close in. Mu actually requires more effort, but it's worth it IMO

None. Trust me on that.

Until you're trapped in the corner eating endless pressure and oki. Not to mention his neutral is top class.

I wouldn't bet the farm on it

Hi, welcome to the FGC, may I take your coat?
-
I can see your point of view, but as I said, I only had an opinion to give, mostly because I don't personally play him. One thing is definitely on the mark, he is doing much better damage now.
-
LOL get all my hopes up and then crush them
-
Because it's more fair to the rest of the cast?
-
Having mid screen steins means you have to put a bit more effort to win. It means you can't just get in for free with 236D full screen anymore, which is a good thing. Litchi was the same way, throw the staff and do whatever you want, even if you got hit. Why not? It's coming back right? To me they're promoting smarter stein usage.

Upon further thought, I might give Venom a shot. I keep hearing about him but I never see him.

I'll take better close range fighting over full screen zoning any day, especially considering close range was where she suffered the most in previous versions. Besides, there are many things she does well (mixup, oki, footsies, etc) that full screen lasers was a bit much. Mu IMO was meant to be a trap/balanced attack character, not purely zoning. If you want pure (for ArcSys anyway) zoning, there's always Nu/Lambda.
-
There aren't any IMO, at least not enormous. From watching H.H., it seems like quite the opposite actually. Mu seems to have much better (and safer) pressure/mixup now. I don't get the negative vibe either.....
-
IMO the same reason as always: He doesn't shine in any particular area. Ky is very solid, and can do a lot of things, but what does he do really well? The other characters in A and S rank all have abilities that put them where they are (I-No's mixup, Venom's pressure/zoning, Chipp's mobility, Sol's IDGAF rushdown, etc) Don't get me wrong, Ky is good. In the right hands VERY good. I just look at the list a bit differently. The only thing to me that stands out about him are his normals, but again, that's just me.
-
I feel you on the Chip MU. It's like catching Sonic the damn Hedgehog.
-
Interesting list, although I'd put Sin and Ky in B and Bedman in C, but that's just my personal opinion. It could go a lot of ways considering the majority of the cast is pretty strong.

My thoughts exactly

[CPEX] Celica A. Mercury Gameplay Discussion Thread
StylisH replied to Grimsley-San's topic in Celica A. Mercury
Yeah, but if you whiff, say goodbye to at least 4k -
All I know is when I play, I don't find myself thinking "Man, this is rough. All I need to do is last long enough to get Hellfire and I can nuke this guy's life bar"
