Pretty much this. For God's sake, even if you suck at instant blocking, at least block. You don't have the health or options to gamble. CA is a good option, but can be low profiled (this sucks) and baited quite easily. Spacing battles are something that comes with experience, although you have a bit of leeway as most opponents tend to be more wary because of Valk's superior neutral in most scenarios.

I wasn't aware of stating that "other stuff" didn't matter. I just gave perspective from my point of view. I apologize if this bothers others for some reason, but as I said, the discomfort of other players will not stop me from experiencing for myself firsthand before passing judgement.

No matter how others feel (high calibur player or not), I will be buying. In part because I never owned CP previously even though I had access, and partially because I enjoy the series and believe that the only opinion that matters when it comes to my enjoyment is mine. I remember being told not to get into Guilty Gear because it was too technical and unforgiving on newcomers. Turned out to be one of my all time favorites. Nothing beats personal playing experience IMO.

I'm putting this here because I can't put it where I want to: Players who get upset because their opponent plays a "non-technical" character. Of all the reasons to be salty, this is the worst. Who cares if the character is easy to use? Last I checked, I don't get brownie points for execution in my matches. Just plain hate. I'm actually leaning towards learning someone like Celica or Terumi now, just to piss people off.

I don't play either character, but Tager still has to get in, and Nu is getting rewarded pretty well off her confirms now. It's just my opinion, but you can never tell with grapplers....

A good player will find a way to win, regardless of tier. Daiwa, Konan, Goro, Kuresu, etc. If you rely too much on your character's abilities and not your own, well that speaks for itself.

Yeah, I've noticed a lot of popular players seeking out other titles, maybe they're not satisfied with the update (yeah, I'm obvious like that) but I'm going to reserve judgement until I play myself. Then again I may be slightly bias, but I kind of like the update personally, even though I question the direction the devs are going..
