@3:52 Um...what? Am I missing something about BI, or is this outdated footage? Because I can't figure out how he got it out so fast...Is there an item I'm not seeing (it's extremely choppy) that's triggering the counter?

Sticking with Labrys as my main. She has better pressure, better tools, and her combos just flow better in my opinion. Sure, she's in the same spot she was in back in vanilla in comparison to the rest of the cast, but I'm having a blast with her, and that's all I care about. As for a sub I can't figure out who I'm liking most out of Rise, Marie, and Liz.

I second the 214214 issue. The other day I was trying to get gears out while playing Labby against a friend, but they wouldn't come out. She just stood there tea bagging furiously before getting smacked with a fan. That said; I feel like this is a lag thing; personally I've yet to have this occur offline.

I highly doubt the slow down was intentionally done. It feels like a bug. What I'm wondering is if this is a console specific thing, I'm on a PS3 myself. As for her popularity, I've fought 4 since the JP release one of which was S. Type, that's already more than I'd run into in vanilla. Can't rule out the possibility that it's just curiosity though.

Eh. It does take some getting used to, but I honestly prefer the C version being easier to land, particularly in a netplay environment. Gone are the days of throwing away axe levels for guarenteed damage just because of finicky connections. EDIT: Speaking of jB>jC, has anyone else noticed the game lags severely if you do 5AA>2B>sj>jB>jC, even offline?

having execution problems. character suggestions?

I'm going to go ahead and suggest Nanase. Like you said, I'm used to Marvel-esque characters who don't need to bother with timing and delays, and she fits that bill perfectly. The bnb I've been using (2B>5C>236A/B~6C>charged j.C>j.BB>j.2B>2C>214A~A) has only one part that is slighty tricky (the charged j.C after the 6C follow up to swordcar), but 10 minutes in training will work the kinks out. And all her combos are really like that. Her oki is also pretty easy to understand, and can be set up very easily (again, looking at that bnb; just switch out the 214A ender for a j.236B right after the j.2B hits). It was mentioned by iBek3n that she has some complex mechanics; I'm assuming they're referring to her float, but it's really not that bad. Yeah, I guess you can use it in some advanced ways, but you'll be fine without them. Honestly, for a while, I think you'd be okay if you just used it as a way to jump cancel blockstrings into her j.236B, just be mindful of your GRD. -
Off a 236A\B~C you can time the 214C so the opponent blocks your trajectory. You'll actually end up right next to them. That said, I haven't really gotten any meaningful damage out of the setup.

Oh, how I love netplay debut jitters. On topic; I'm sure I'm jumping too far ahead, but is there a dedicated streaming lobby up yet and if not, is anyone starting one? I know there's actually quite a few Japanese streams, but if there's anything P4A taught me, it's that you avoid those lobbies unless you want to play in stop motion.

I was wondering about that. Overall, based off what I've seen and read, it looks like she has more options this time around. Bubble looks interesting, but only seems okay to throw out at full screen. I would have liked something to help on defense, but oh well...

Huh...well, I never got P4G so I'm actually kind of interested in her, if only to get to know her character. Here's hoping shell be a little more hardy than Liz...
-
Indeed. Was educational, to say the least. Honestly, these are the kind of lobbies I love.

rrsquared played both Labrys and SR Labrys last night; took quite a few matches with them too. That said, he only picked SRL a few times, and didn't really do anything with berserk when he did pick her. As for a system...someone started referring to them as regular and shadow regular and it stuck with me.

Stream is kind of lame at the moment. S. Naoto for almost an hour, then a 30 minute Kanji break, now the S Naoto guy is back...sigh...

Well, I was referring to arcade footage when I said there wasn't much new. Is her new winch dash follow-up safe on block by the way? Also, that satellite super Rise has seems interesting. It looks like the satellites will either surround her or surround the opponent and...do something. The one time I saw that version it was blocked. Does the version used have depend on whether the opponent has been hit by that lock-on scan move or not, or is it just different based on the button pressed?

I absolutely hated the Striptease theme in P4, but damn is it a good fit in this game. Taking a quick break from watching at the moment. Was most interested in Labrys/SR Labrys and Rise, and saw a good amount of both. Nothing really new on Labrys here, but SR was nice to see. Rise is looking pretty fun. Didn't see anyone make any use of her notes at all. They seemed to have some potential in corner pressure...maybe not?

I can...kind of agree with Whimsikal on this one. A player that's slightly more skilled can be excellent for learning, there's no denying that. But if you're a low rank up against an S and you can't even get a move in, you're not really learning much. I guess it may be helpful in that it teaches how to block and deal with set ups and stuff. Maybe.
