  1. thats sol for you....random ass bullshyt wins the match lol. as for robo ky player....learn the combos, frcs, and pressure strings...robo-ky is so situational its not even funny...
  2. robo ky...actually ur robo ky isnt that bad you just need to place more mats and learn to not get hit by trees...as they said level 1 missles are sucky! u know the basics just gotta learn character specifics and combos etc...In my honest opinion maybe u should use another character like order sol,millia,sol.....robo ky really isnt that aggresive and i can tell you wanna be...robo ky basically does nothing the whole match just counter hits and throw missles ..also one thing i learned about robo-ky is that you gotta have pretty good defense to be good with him....meaning you gotta learn all the match ups and block strings etc.....it sucks but you gotta cause i think i am a pretty good robo ky player but my one friend used chipp on me and i got raped jus cause i didnt know what to do with robo ky....i mean i used anji and order sol then i raped him cause i can pressure like a mofo with them but i couldnt do anything with robo ky (which is my main). Also i noticed with robo ky you have to have good as fuck spacing.....more so with most characters...if you watch vids of dogura, kk1 etc they really dont do anything than lets say stormlocke do....they just got better spacing and defense...i mean stormlocke knows the combos, pressure, etc but what makes dogura good is that he knows every matchup good and has better spacing-movement than most robo-ky players....the reason i use robo ky is cause i have pretty good defense and spacing plus i really dont got time to learn any other characters due to life issues so i stick to what i know......but seriously try another character to see who fits ur playstyle cause EVERY character in GG is different.
  3. if you are trying to keep pressure by bazooka when he is already standing up he can walk under it....im not sure yet on if he can get you in a combo or not but i do know that he can get you with 2p...

  5. on wake up faust can duck under your 5p..also if you bazooka and if you are slightly off with your timing faust can do that ex chop right over it...hit flaming bag of shyt he throws in the air u can just use 2hs to get rid of it.....i wouldnt recommend jumping in on faust cause his 5k is too good as an anti air.....ground to ground if he tries to run in use 5S cause it has the best range against him and if its counter hit he falls. if you can tell he is going for command grab uppercut his ass. robo dashing is good in this matchup up to a point. if he is just jumping throwing bags of shyt and items robo dash his ass unless he has a poison on the ground....but dont robo dash too often cause if you try and he throws that spear to pull you in like scorpion u are fucked. if he uses his super that throws all the shyt on the screen if you go into your Det mode and try to work something.....missles are golden in this match up cause more than likely its gonna be a keep away match up lol.
  6. i know alot of axl players that sit back and just do that jab poke and the ground poke....well....when i use order sol i just use gunflame and it hits the tip of his weapon but it counts as a hit....havent tested this theory but i think maybe 6p for robo ky could do the same thing.....
  7. trying to work on command grab setups.....one i used yesterday was pretty good.... 5k 5s 5hs FRC run in grab.... Also im trying to think of new level 2/3 bazooka mixups......like for instance bazooka...they block it...then i jump then dash in..... any other suggestions for mixups...
  8. found out a few things about robo ky vs venom. about venom balls. you can do 3 things to help you out. Smoke them, 6p, or slide under them. In this match jumping in on venom is deadly....real deadly (for you). if you notice urself in the corner make sure you at least try to plant a mat so you can dead angle or something. I realized the best way to get out of the corner besides DA and uppercutting is to superjump out. Using a random horsie is good sometimes because if the venom player is trying to summon a ball and u do horsie at the time he is doing that then its a free hit. Once you are on venom bazooka and try to mix him up....one annoying thing about venom is his DA. Venom players will DA you alot so if you can try to bait it and they will get rocked.

  11. gotta quick question about instant blocking/white guarding. im trying to figure some shyt out with robo ky like if i IB an attack can i do a certain attack afterwards using the frame chart. when i IB an attack do i recover right away to attack or does it take me outta block stun faster? because it is kinda complicated looking at the chart trying to figure out if i IB this i can do this afterwards. also if i IB an attack if it doesnt make it where u can attack right away how much guard stun does it take away??? does it differ from move to move or the same with every move.....please help!!
  12. You shouldnt jump at all????? thats ridiculous!!!!! of course u shouldnt just do a jump half way across the screen trying to hit with a Slash but robo ky has alot of things. For instance you can instant air dash, u can double jump, u can JC your punch and land or dash forward or backwards etc....sols 5k is a damn good anti air but so is robo ky 2hs....so you are saying sol shouldnt jump because of 2hs??? its all about the hit boxes on the moves and mixing up ur jumps to the ones i mentioned earlier...because if you double jump he might whiff the 5k or if you IAD he might not react fast enough therefore letting you in.....but i do agree you shouldnt just go crazy tryin to jump in...but you can do it.
  13. yeah 5p is the best option for the sol matchup but im sure if you throw in a bazooka when he isnt expecting it then it would probably work......and sometimes a dust on wakeup works too...

  15. it varies what to do as an opening.....character specific....for example with testament i usually dont do shyt except back dash. he has faster opening than robo ky in all levels....but with ky i can use slash as an opening or jump in at him... Edit: also i need frame data....who in here has or know how to get frame data on every character and what frames leave u at something if white guarded etc....really thats the only way to play is to white guard and KNOW WHAT TO DO AFTERWARDS......

Sol badguy jumping HS is good and all but u can just uppercut or use 5p or 5 HS depending on how close in he is to you....yeah sol's 5k is really good but you should be flickering FD anyways right? i just learned the hard way not to do rockets when u get a knockdown on sol cause he can super ur ass. also the move with sol when he bounce off the wall and comes back with a kick u can just 6p it. I hate solbadguy.....not the character but how people play him very randomly...so i just play it safe when im playing him and usually i win cause the other player did a random uppercut or doing that one move that makes him slide across the ground and knocks you up. easy match up IMO.
  17. everytime i get one match up down where i feel comfortable fighting against that opponent another one (usually more annoying) comes. Venom...that fucker!!!! i have no strategy against him.....only thing i can do is random uppercut and hope i hit....when he is on me its like....damn...anyways...im tryin to come up with something cause i know it has to be a hard matchup for roboky...what i have analyzed so far is when he goes to do his Cr D if u white guard it u can be at even frames with him afterwards.....but im not sure of it because if he goes into stinger aim or carcass raid not sure if u can attack after it. also im not sure if you white guard his stinger aim or carcass raid can u be at even or get frame advantage enough to counter attack him....

  19. ok so the other day i faced an aba player....he is fairly knowledgable on the game and knows a few combos with aba....anyways i was using robo ky and i was getting owned...i mean aba had so much proiority i couldnt even attack without my moves getting beat out....i mean he would spam random shyt and it would win ( i was getting really pissed off)..any strats/tips

  21. yeah add a combo/strategy thread...that way if someone just wants to read up on robo ky and learn new stuff they can just read the thread and get nothing but info and opinions instead of other stuff not related to strats. i like this thread but i dont think i will read all of it to find info....too much random talk...hence the name...
  22. so 5k or 2p isnt an option in this.....intresting.....i use backdash a lil bit but i havent really tried to backdash throw...thanks for the 5hs frc....the only time i land the frc is if i know i will hit....for example with horsie...guess i better practice frcin it even if whiff huh?
  23. my problem im having with robo ky is finding a quick attack...for example when an opponent is like attacking me and i try to sneak in a quick move in between i usually get hit afterwards....what is a quick start up move to use to interrupt people block strings....i was thinking mayble 5k or 2p??? whats the best
  24. i mostly mean if he is on the ground.....when i go to jump and if hos jumps same time it seems his Punch beats out mine (i guess cause hos punch is faster and can just jump and spam or something) when i JC the punch if i dont do it too often hos might whiff the 5hs and then i JC the punch and jump again and land with Slash... hey doom....what is the hos move called fanfir????
  25. ok i gotta lil bit of data on playing order sols... i think robo wins this fight if both players are even.. when match first starts hitting S is a good opener. if u fighting an aggresive order sol....place mats and just block and u get to build meter at the same time... if you know after he does the charge cancel he attacks again you can do the horsie and totally stop any more attacks on his end. since order sol has a low jump doing cr HS is too risky....considering if u do hit him he might hit u as well and therefore he gets the counter hit and you slide into a corner. time it right. after order sol rockit not sure what all you can do but 6p you can do if you block it so he dont continue pressuring. i found out you can jump more on order sol than other characters cause of order sol anti air. but at the same time watch out for the RANDOM UPPERCUTS. what i use mostly when i jump on order sol is jump S. in this matchup i find it to work a lil better than jump HS. Tiger kneeing........cant talk about gotta master that art....but from watch vids it seems effective. jump canceling P is golden in this match...i usually JC P into S and faultless defense flicker just in case hes gonna do a random uppercut when im landing or something. all in all this should be an easy match up for robo ky....just play it smart and safe cause if u dont happen to get hit it could be like 40 percent health....
