  1. Hehe, I wish you good luck! Needless to say, but the best way to get better at any fighting game is to just play them (with good players of course!). What I stated are just main points that I personally keep in mind when going against Yu. Then you just improvise the rest; it'll come naturally to you, like you said. *Edits* Oh, my apologies. I totally misunderstood you. I know I hate being misunderstood myself, so I hope I didn't offend you!
  2. D-D-Don't drop Labrys just yet! (For the sake of Labrys players...) The key to winning agaisnt Yu is patience. When being pressured in a corner, the best thing you can do is just block. But a lot of Narukami players need to go in the air at some point; I usually wait until that happens, then launch a 2B. Chances are you'll get a counter hit too, so follow up with 5D (x2) & do whatever you please from there. However, good Narukami players will use a more ground based pressure, in which he only has 1 split-second opening (you'll start to notice this when he starts finishing his combos with his persona, or when he back-dashes away from you). In this tight opening, 2AB usally does the trick 'cause it's fast, hits low & covers a lot of ground. Sometimes, you're able to 5B instead (it has more reach than you think!). Yu mid-screen is much easier. He'll try to close in on you with his thunderball stuff, so be careful. If you time it right, use your chain knuckle (the SB version makes you invincible to projectiles). If he jumps to do a thunderball, run straight up to him & launch 2B (use with caution mind you). If he starts respecting you, throw out some orbs & slowly close in on him. Yu might be a bit tough, but he's manageable.
  3. Eh? A 2.0 update is coming along? How could I miss something like that~ Easier & more consistent axe is always welcome. And here I thought it was hard for her to lose it! Throws are now super cancellable; this can actually save us our burst. I *always* keep my burst for either finishing combos, or red axe throws. Hehe, now we can burst after a Red axe Throw>Super-Cancel D Beast for silly combos. I'm guessing Labrys's DP is gonna come out like S.Labrys (which is obviously good). There's no way it's going to counter like Brutal Impact. Besides, Labrys's DP is excellent for baiting other characters' DP, certainly against players who have great reflexes! Any news about her shadow version though? Same stuff I'm guessing? :o
  4. GGs to KyokugenFightoo. I just really wanted to have some good Labrys mirrors, but turns out I wasn't being much of a threat. Then PSN terminated our matches. Oh my~ Everybody here hangs out in player matches, right? :o
  5. I disagree, she's not nearly as bad as some Labrys players make it out be. S. Labrys's advantage over normal Labrys is pressure & mixup. For example, one of my staple combos is confirming .....>2AB>Berserk>5A>2B>..... then finishing off with air guillotine. At this point, you 3 choices once you hit the ground: -2AA & go for low (.....>j.214>hit ground>2AA>2A>5B>2AA hits/captures>[5]B>.....) -Go for overhead (.....>j.214>hit ground>AB214>.....) -Go for crossup (.....>j.214>hit ground>2AA> dash through your opponent, etc...) The overhead hits on the exact frame your opponent wakes up & touches the ground, so if he's not blocking (or blocking low), jumping or mashing, you start your new combo from there. If you think the opponent is gonna DP or Super on wakeup, the crossup protects you from all of that, then you get free hits. Of course, all of these work from blue axe & guessing right once essentially brings you to red axe (with leftover SP). Ooh... I got carried away! S. Labrys definitely has some good stuff. Depends on how dedicated you are on playing her (I've been playing her ever since Ultimax arrived. How embarrasing). This is true. Never ever ever use the (gimmicky) unblockable is you're gonna try her. It depletes all of your Berserk SP pool for... not much damage & no axe level gain.
  6. Better late than never. You play a fine Labrys, so by just playing/learning her at your own pace, you should turn out good. Personally, I wouldn't use Brutal Impact (214214A/B) unless I got the opponent trapped in a corner. Realisticly, most people can super cancel or even dash right through you even after hitting it. But hey! If they are predictable & it works, use it! ( 'v')/ However, what can be good for you is Labrys's Chain Knuckle (236A/B). If your opponent isn't jump happy, you should use it more often. The Skill boost version of it makes you invincible to projectiles, so err... for example, agaisnt that Yukiko you were playing, you can practically get a free Fatal hit if she's spewing fans & flames all day! Woot! But then you should learn a couple of Chain Knuckle Fatal combos. Hmm, that's all from me!
  7. Oh, Ultimax came in yesterday and spent a good hour in training mode. So far, I definitely believe that this is a better Labrys (well, that's to be expected for an update lol). I've yet to find something that I dislike that can't be subtituted. If there's something I really gotta point out, it's that Shadow Labrys doesn't have any unique dialogue! The bubble is definitely an oki tool, but best used when your opponent is in the corner. I don't think I'll ever substitute 22A/B/C/D for a bubble when I'm in the middle of the stage, but you never know (I did only get one hour after all). Labrys's chain arm gets fatal on counter; the amount of opponents who got hit by this in P4A was incredible. The best addition yet! *tears of joy*
  8. That just sounds like a bonus. Being rewarded for blocking is the real treat! Encourages people to play better, which encourages people to read better... we just all win, don't we? 7 hours turbo? Sounds like I'll be unlocking colors along the way, starting with my characters. *nods* ( -.-)
  9. Sweet~ ...But I suppose that was to be expected! Kagura's DP did always strike me as odd (he seems to hit the ground quicker). I guess it makes sense that his has a slightly tighter timing. No need to subtitute the move then.
  10. Oh my. This is an awfully embarrasing question, but a critical one. After Kagura does his DP, whichever command that may be, I should be able to land a Fatal 5[C], right? I would test it out myself, but I've never unlocked Kagura you see. (= '.'=) The reason I ask is because my unreliable online doesn't allow me to pull it off. I honestly don't see a reason why I can't. It is a DP after all... But you never know.
  11. Maybe players have put their pride on the line & decided not to do it anymore. Thanks. I'm honestly not that worried about people abusing it. For one, you have to be (the unpopular?) Waldstein. Two, you'd have to be pretty silly to do it in a match (assuming you are in the lead).
  12. Hehe, that's what I like to think. We might discover a new kind of lag unknown to this world, but hey, it really is better than nothing (I'm actually very grateful). I'll add you as well Darkshowdo. Let's seeeee.... Oh. Quick question! Waldstein's infite grab: Is it still present in the game? I have been following UNI for just about everything, but maybe something like a quick patch/update has slipped by me. ( 'o')/
  13. Oh! Like Kagami here anybody who ordered from AmiAMi got it shipped about an hour ago. The wait for the physical copy sure is a hard one. Maybe I'll sleep for a week until it comes in. Yup! That sounds like a good idea. On a side note (& slightly off topic, my apologies), I'd be happy if I could get a few people added on PSN for UNI. I'll certainly be pretty active for this game. Way back when I imported BBCP, I made the mistake of not not finding people on Dustloop & ended playing by myself for the longest time. Those were some sad months... ;_:
