Guys like Gordeau, Yuzu, Wald, and Merkava who have long reach can punish it if they get the chance. Merkava more obviously can either fly over it or just straight up grab you. Since IIRC his grabs can go through projectiles since I saw a match with Wong playing as Linne and his arms just went through Kuuga. Could be wrong though.

That right there shows how broken this girl would be WITHOUT being a nutty charge character. I'm 100% sure that dude must be scratch his how on how you just turned the game into Touhou.

I find it easier to do air drills in the middle of air combos since they usually give you enough time to stay airborne for like a couple seconds or so you can bust it out. Since it just hit me after awhile cuz I see myself doing this alot when fighting Waldstein.

I think what really kills me against mirror matches and Gordeau, is Vat's lack of a ground overhead. Or something that can be used to crack open someone's defense other than going for a throw. Cuz her pressure game, when she gets in there , SHE GETS IN. But in order to do that, I need to play strong and hope the other dude makes the mistake of incorrectly blocking. Her only overhead, the air drill B, is not only hard to use frequently, its discouraged to do raw. Or against anyone who can either DP you or anti-air you in a heart beat.

Against Waldstein, depending how good the other guy is, you have maybe like 2 chances to beat him. On the bright side, she has the tools to keep him locked in a combo. The downside, she has a hard time against him while under pressure. So it really depends how good at keeping consistent combos you are, Cuz if you manage to land a good hit confirm, it can potentially lead to him having almost no health at best, half health at worst. The second chance is if the other guy drops his combos. That's what I've managed to scrounge up after having run ins. Against Gordeau, he seems to buckle everytime I play lame and just block and punish. Remembering that Vat's C's have range, 66C's and 66B's being good. And overall being in his face. But its really nerveracking due to how easy he can bring it back. And plus, I really hate his command grabs.

Rotated to Vatista yesterday. So trying to get a feel of her moves now. Is there like a rule of thumb when it comes to charge partitioning her divekick A? Cuz that's what I really want to use most times. But the timing on it is just baffling me. Like charge partitioning from her flash kick is cake, her orbs somewhat. Much harder with her lasers, and this is just messing with my mind. So for most cases I'm just really comboing with her normals during actual matches. But I feel that I can do so much more. And I really don't think this is something I can just pick up within a week like most characters since her charged moves are odd.

I've seen wake up ORA ORA ORA. Not as bad as wake up DUNKEY BARRU. Which pisses me off to no end.

I would like to compare it to Naoto's Shield of Justice where you basically have to read your opponent's moves long in advance otherwise you have no choice but to commit to the defense in which you can get punished for. Its definitely not like a Chie reflect move where its like right on the spot and can be spammed. It just requires more attention. I'd say once people feel more comfortable with matchups in like a month or so, it'd probably be more practical. Doing so now at this stage in the game would seem really risky unless you're like a fighting game master.

Akatsuki's reflectors are so so overlooked and glossed at. The shenanigans you can do with this is hilarious. If you're the kind of person who likes parries in 3rd Strike, the thrill of seeing being able to parry moves from the big 3 just to completely throw them off guard. And if you think you got big balls, try parrying Gordeau's scythes in mid-air and be like "no, I don't respect you" *punch*.

Good to know the majority of his combos can get him around 4-5K easy. Unless you wanna cheese people and purposely drop combos just to get consistent damage without too much scaling. Either way its the same prize.
-
His parries should be able to. Or block. You could also take advantage of his fireballs, specifically his slow ones. Since they're pretty useful for throwing people off if they decide to dash in like Orie.
-
Only for the person playing. Mainly just to wait for the next match. Though personally, a mode like this is still the best idea.

Hilda is cake up close, far away she's annoying (like usual, regardless of character actually). I usually do my usual 2A pressure with his sweeps and that usually catches players. Or if you're ballsy for his overhead, since she's crap upclose. Merkava is better upclose, but this will require you to read him since he's fast upclose. But if he's in the air, if you can DP, do so. But its tougher since he can either spam from top, or divekick. So probably close to bait him, but not so far as that he'll come back down to earth just to be grab happy. Orie is not even a problem, block her.

If there's like one character I find difficult to stay blocking against, that's probably Merkava, but thats more me trying to figure which attack is gonna be high and low since Merkava can act quick. Waldstein uplose with Akatsuki is like my worst day ever, mainly cuz of his command grabs. CG regularly or on wake up.

Yeah, my whole game plan is basically back down, wait it out, wait till an attack starts having an opening, punish with 2C, and start corner carrying him with 6C and dash and meaty with his kicks, lather rinse repeat til the other dude is at the other end where I can go balls out. His dash kick I do agree looks potentially good, but unlike say, Sion, who can dash B people for days, Akatsuki just has short dashes, and those are usually not really for getting in like everyone, more like used as a combo tool to get close enough so one of my normals can reach. After that I just play up the fact that people online in this game are not patient. They will someday have to attack me upclose to do any real damage. He does have 10K health. This was a case where this Vatista player tried to play lame, and the last round he managed to confirm me. But he couldn't win and got time scammed cuz he had to work for damage where I had more health. And there's like no point going into a fire ball war with me. A Hyde player tried that and done nothing. Though I wish I can do Akatsuki's actual combos and not the lame crap I've been doing. Like I remember playing as Sion and this one dude managed to lift me up so high with his combos, I was basically at the top corner of the screen. It was nuts.
