  1. So I'm a long time Marvel Hitbox player and have started messing around with I-No. I'm pretty big on optimization and was wondering if anyone else here used hitbox with Xrd or had any thoughts on changing the button layout to work better with her more complicated inputs. Just starting out, there's a lot of nice SOCD tricks that seem to mesh well with GG and I-No, specifically her 66956 on hitbox has some interesting input methods. For a quick rundown of how hitbox handles hitting opposite directions at the same time (using a PS360+ board, specifically), left + right = neutral and up + down = up. This means rather than having to manually press the forward button 4 times to get the hover > iad, you can actually do: 6(Press and Hold) 4 (delay to dash height) 8 4. the game will register this as a 656956. On the same note, you can get very easy IAD's using a similar input. Eg. Forward IAD: [6] 8 4 Along the same lines as thing, I would really like to tweak my layout to cater to I-No's input tricks specifically. Along the lines of the j.D FD float tricks, are there any other weird inputs that you find yourself using often that don't lend themselves well to the standard layout?
  2. So friend of mine recorded some sets from our weekly fight night. I've got one from me against a local Nanase player. Would love to get some feedback on the play. I think my major issue at the moment is not converting clean non-puddle hits. It took a lot of work to force myself to stop throwing wheels at the end of blockstrings starting out and now I'm having trouble throwing them when I'm supposed to. :/ The 3rd or 4th match we started discussing Nanase's reverse beat strings and I was trying to make sure I know how to block her so there are 2 matches where I'm super passive and that's purely for informational purposes. Any feedback is appreciated. Normal week 2 disclaimer and all that. http://youtu.be/D7NqkiOUJvU
  3. http://finalclause.dantarion.com/hitboxes/#2/1/4 So this might be useful... (Just tried to look through it, It might be useful later...but right now it's pretty rough.) Edit to avoid triple posting: What's the best way to find SAT videos on niconico? Notes I can find with no problem on that huge nico match list and I've think I've seen a few Nedji, but haven't run across an SAT match yet. :/ Quad-Edit (Ultra Combo!): Is SAT the guy that plays with the tag "somethingのナイトアルト"? The 'something' is blurry Kanji that I'm not gonna waste time trying to suss out.
  4. As far as his blockstrings go, the main thing you need to keep in mind is how long your opponents normals are. In general, the longer their normals are, the more C normals you want to add to the end of a blockstring before ending with 22A. So against someone like akatsuki, AB2Cxx22A will usually put you in a position that you can fish for a counterhit with 5BB or 2C and since you have the puddle from the 22A you get a super easy confirm. On someone like Nanase, though, there are ranges where AB2Cxx22A isn't plus enough so you'll want to add a 5C,3C, and/or 6C before the 22A so you can abuse the range in his normals. Also, j.[C] seems like it should be one of those buttons you throw out all day, but you want to resist using it on normal jumps because you do have some landing recovery and can get punished of it. Try to get used to poking with j.B (especially jump back j.B, land, 2C when you have a puddle nearby.) That normal has a great hitbox for defensive and offensive okay. In general, I think his combos actually require a bit of dedication (this coming from someone that plays Magneto and Dante in UMvC3 and is pretty comfortable with higher execution requirements.) For me, the dash 2B pickup took some work (start by practicing it off a 5B or 3C starter.) Also, the cancel timing on uniel is a bit strange compared to other fighters so make sure you're delaying your specials so that the A/B his around the same time the normal your trying to cancel off of is hitting your opponent. On the 5BB (1st hit whiffs)combos, make sure you're starting the combo with the tip of the 5B starter to get the right spacing (those combos are meant specifically for converting off max range pokes.) Some of his higher damage corner combos are actually pretty high execution, links + timing jump/charge normals to hit at specific heights and juggling off of negative edge traps. I've had a ton of fun with him and I feel like he's easily up there with the big 3, tier-wise, he just takes more dedication and pays much better returns on the effort you put into him.
  5. I'm not sure if it's on CH only, but you can definitely link 22A > 2Cxx236A j[C] etc. (If you hit the 22A it's almost always because they're pressing buttons anyways, so...
  6. This guy is pretty solid. 【UNIEL】カーマインランクマ動画part1 http://nico.ms/sm24170187 #nicoid #sm24170187 Plays as umintyu. Something like 1.1 mil online.
  7. 3B j.CAB 2C 6B 2C 236A j.[C] 2B 2C That's the one I use. (From http://youtu.be/Aj4M7Up-ryc)
  8. Thanks, still getting used to some of the other mechanics. Been focusing more on hit confirms so my neutral/oki game is still super rough. I'm coming over from a few years in Marvel so my brain doesn't think in CS yet. 214C is the ice/blood block super, right? Can you do more than a few hits and set up oki off that? (I'm not very familiar with the speed of meter gain and overall expected damage. Is the ~2400 damage worth spending the bar to confirm?) Edit: Nvm...I'm an idiot, was mixing up 22C and 214C in my head. 214C makes way more sense.
  9. Hey guys, new on Dustloop, been running Carmine for about a week now. Still getting over some of his longer combo execution hurdles. Hopefully I can start contributing as I get up to speed. Main question for now, if you end a blockstring with 22A/B and get a counterhit, is there a way to combo if they're outside of 2C range? 5MM xx DP or anything like that? Secondary question, under the 'players to watch' lists, there's SAT and King Crimson. If you search SAT on youtube (haven't dug into Nico much) sometimes you'll see individual matches that are supposed to be SAT (typically playing the orange/green alt), but sometimes you'll find a stream upload that supposedly has SAT playing, but the player tag is Kurimuzon (Crimson) and typically plays the yellow alt and they seem to have different playstyles. Does anyone know if these are 2 different people with incorrect labeling or the same player with an evolved playstyle over time? For example: http://youtu.be/R2IMC8EAi5Y vs. http://youtu.be/9af2RltDRj8?t=3m12s
