I was wondering if anyone could help me with the dive cancel > 6d > j22c timing. I'm really struggling. when are you guys timing the 282c, or rather when are you starting it? My bell bug keeps not materializing. I have almost stabilized everything except getting the spider to connect. Either arakune jumps and does the spider with no bell bug or the spider is too late. Any tips? its pretty frustrating being so close to being able to do the jc ja ja jb jc j2b dc 6d j22c route on demand but always messing up the spider...

after the sword iris are you guys getting off the 5cc? even if I get that to connect the 5cc drops. Im curious if this is related, can anyone confirm if the timing of your jc after 5cd 6c is strict or not? Do you have to do it on the last 6c tick (i believe its 12 hits al together so something like 11 hits 6c then jc to replace the 12th) in order to make the rest stable? maybe that is my issue.

I didnt know j214 a ever put you behind the opponent, i know regular 214a did, but thats actually pretty amazing if it did. what do you mean by coverage? So now j214a doesn't? sad times....

Yeah that is what I was saying, remember CP 1.0? X.0 is never the real game it always ends up being X.1 so lets wait for 2.1 before we draw any conclusions hehe.

whats the change to the j214a? I haven't noticed the difference yet. Yeah I'm sad to hear arakune is relatively weak right now, but I'm gonna stick with him through thick and thin. Hes my boy for life just gonna do what I can with what I got hehe.

Ive been attempting the JC hold JC 2D 6A route. JB>JC>2D>6A sounds like a good option if you got the hit off low, can be done with or without ch i'd think. But again both this and the JC hold route are painful and will take a while for me to get over because it requires wind even though its a ch Yes I did notice that if the 6a is high enough you can just do the route from 1.1 5b > bnb. That recovery time is so painful though even with a high hit you barely make it. JC>2D>JC>2D I am definitely trying to avoid (unless I have to...) because as you can see it uses 2 wind stock. glirandly the route you pointed out is actually new to me, can you explain what J.C~2D > jc9 > j.C | should look like? whats the | mean? Is it JC~2D, then double jump JC then another JC on the way down? Theres 3 JC's in there.

Sigh, i miss just waiting for them to drop after 6a[ch] and going into 5b...OK I will try to focus more on letting the 3c hit a 2nd and 3rd time so that i can get the vortex effect and see if it stabilizes. I coulda sworn that it was dropping after the 1st hit even if I continue the 3c she keeps spinning but the training dummy recovers. I will try it again today to make extra sure its not just my technique. I was just curious if anyone else ran into this issue. I certainly hope its just my technique because that route just not being able to be completed would be sad because it is a 6a ch after all...

I just wanted to point out in this video that they are doing the jcBird ja ja jb jc route off of a 5a starter and they are doing the j2b dive which keeps you on the same side. Is this out of date or is this all actually possible?

thanks for that info very helpful ill do some testing as well. I haven't been experimenting so much as I have been trying to fine tune my inputs and get consistent with the basics

I hear ya man on the 6a if its a non-ch but now if its a ch we lose out because it seems we have to use wind unlike before. From what I'm seeing the followup for a 6a[ch] seems to be jc[hold] > jc > 2d > 66 > 6a > 4b > bnb or can anyone confirm if there's better? seems like we gotta use wind now even for a 6a[ch]. I was trying this out on jin training dummy and I'm dropping the combo after dash 6a 4b dash 5b 6a 236a dash 3c, I can't get the lightning rod lightning to connect is anyone else having this problem? When I practice this route off a grab or off standard 5b 5cd 6d opener I'm not dropping it. Is there something else we are supposed to do?

so lets say, cd bugs, j236cd cd bugs, what is generally the best followup to replace 6c at this point? just get off as much recurse as possible? maybe 5d spider or something? 6c rekkaken was easily my favorite part of curse combo so it makes me really sad.

So after j2a, you DC by doing j2b or j2c? and it has to be just before you land right? I guess I have to ask, why can't it be the same one? in other news I actually started landing this yesterday. Still havent quite gotten the hang of the 6a 5d starter but with just normal 6b or 6a 6b just for practice sake, I've been getting the rest after that. Finally getting the spider to connect at the end was very satisfying.

Thank you, once I got used to delaying the jb I started becoming a lot more consistent with it. It was just hard to adjust since I been doing the jb input so fast all through 1.0 and 1.1. Yyou do have a decent time window to delay it all things considered but I'm not sure if its better to try to get the jb earlier or later, from what I'm seeing late jb is better as long as the combo doesn't drop. Trying to figure out what is causing the followup to drop every now and then in the corner (5b 6a usually drops around here). Seems like either you must 5b as soon as possible after 5cc or it could be the timing of jb 5cc. Either way thank you, not delaying was the issue for me.

I would love to be good enough for tournament play. I certainly hope to get better and do it so maybe I will see you at some tourneys some day in the future. I do feel you though, i felt like arakune didn't have much of a tournament presence to begin with and if the overall result is her's nerfed then thats sad. On a more positive note I'm not too convinced we are actually stuck with this version for long term. Remember with CP 1.0 became 1.1 fairly quickly.

Thank you Skye definitely looking forward to that video. And thank you to both of you your input is INVALUABLE and will save me a ton of grey hairs. I'm going to give all this a try when I get home. Also the TK explanation, that makes alot of sense, and is very nostalgic haha. I was definitely doing j4a j4b and the j4b was never happening because I was landing. I was actually trying to TKj4a j4b before.... Gonna see how stable this is for me once I stop doing that. quick note, j2a DC, the DC can be done with any other j2X right? for example j2a then j2a right as I land. Or maybe I don't fully understand DC. Its nice to have these new combos i feel like we can curse faster midscreen without using meter/CT like before, but goodness the meter drops so fast now. And it doesn't seem like you can do cd bug > 236cd > cd bug > 6c 5cd 2c > cdbug, anymore can anyone confirm this? my dummy keeps recovering during the rekkaken after 6c so its not a c bug timing issue the 6c just doesn't seem to pin them down long enough.

Thank you then that explains my problem. I thought it was 5d > 9 > iadj66 > j4a > j4b cant wait to get home and try it properly then. Just curious whats TK stand for? Ok good to know I will try both spider inputs out and see which one works for me.

Thank you for the help i didnt even think to try 282 as an input. I'm curious which one you are doing more right now or which you find more reliable the 282 input or just trying to time the 8 22 right? Actually right now my issue is the j4b isn't happening altogether. after j4a I'm landing. So it sounds like I need to maybe delay a little after the 5d? Very good point, I forgot you can walk under after j2a. For 100% corner curse I have found (5aa) 6b jd 5d 2/3d 6d to be very consistent. I can't afford to do anything fancy right now because I'm still trying to be consistent with the stuff I am working on with you right now so I'm very happy to have this corner combo for now.

is that what you have been doing? using ja hit stop as visual cue? I might try that. But honestly I didnt even know there was "time" to delay the jb, i thought if you don't jb as soon as possible they will recover but looks like I was wrong.

I see. I will give that a try then thank you. Gonna be hard to undo the muscle memory conditioning of me doing the jb so quickly I've practically been piano-ing in the jb all through 1.0 and 1.1. ah well.

can someone explain this to me? I know that for the: ground attack (gets blocked) > ja > jb overhead starter that we need to go straight to 5cc instead of 5b > 5cc in order to get a decent combo, but I tried to skip 5b like 50 times and the 5cc is not connecting (training dummy blocks the 5cc even though he ate the ja overhead). Is this more complicated than skipping the 5b? so literally it looks like this (dummy is on crouch, always block) 5a/5b (blocked) > ja (hits) > jb > 5cc (gets blocked)

Thank you thats actually very helpful. Yeah I was practicing the the 6a 5d route and it was really unforgiving. getting the j4b in has been really hard for me. How are you doing the timing of the 6d > spider at the end? That isn't working for me. come to think of it the 6d > j3/6d (whichever it is) I'm struggling with as well but it seems like my issue was jumping too fast, it was canceling the bell bug. edit: do we have to use j2a at the end? we end up on the other side. I tried 2.b but its not hitting but I'm quite certain I saw some videos of someone using j2b and it stayed on the same side.

Ive had issues with connecting j6d/j66d land 6c ja ja ever since 1.1 no matter what the starter :< so I would really love to get whatever advice you find. I've been resorting to j6c j6c j236c for more reliable confirm also your in VA? thats where I am...wanna show me in person lol

Got to put some time into akarune 2.0 since it came in the mail the other day. The timings are gonna take a little getting used to but feels like the bugs come a lot slower? Feels like to get j236c to connect with cd bugs you have to j236c and let go almost immediately as opposed to before where you would hold c and d for a bit. It also looks like for the 6b j6d land j6c ja ja jb jc jb combo that people aren't doing j66d anymore? can anyone confirm the instant air dash isn't necessary anymore? I'm having trouble getting this to connect altogether...after j6c the ja always whiffs anyone have any tips for that who is landing it often? delay after j6d? walk forward a little bit after you land? not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Ok so maybe I came to the wrong conclusions after watching some videos of 2.0 arakune, I guess I was noticing the players hitting with more curse building things like midscreen combos leading to j6d/6d > spider or something I felt like he was cursing more. Full curse meter in the corner also looked like an easier combo to do/execute from what I saw (no longer requiring 214b, which was weird anyways) and I thought the 5d jump cancel was really nice and the c bug breaking guards looked scary. I also noticed alot of shenanigans where one could use j412412d to re-curse players so he looked stronger to me but from what you guys are saying he's actually weaker now. Either way I understand your reasons Skye thanks for all your help, your video on pre-curse really helped me get my arakune on my feet.
