So this is a thing that's come up more than once when I've been online, but I've noticed fiona mains or people who play her alot tend to avoid mirror matches. Is it b/c it's just one of those mirror matches that turns into who can mash more and it just becomes silly?
-
What you want to do is mash the button, but not the motion. In other words do 236 then mash c in your case. For me this method has always helped me in doing some of the more complicated inputs in this game.

I think I saw you online when I was checking the lobbies today, but then I realized I still haven't open my copy of Fairy Fencer F and just finally went and started that lol.

I learned the basic game plan with Fiona like the air to air game, simple combos that end in heaven's fall, and the oki mix-up attempt either with j.C or arcana super. I was about to look into how to do some EFC combos next, so this actually helps me alot. I figured I could combo gae bulg from mid-screen into sin eclipse since it knocks them into a wall. The only other thing was if I should consider experimenting with any other arcanas besides wind and sin. From what I've seen Thunder, Ice, Earth, and Flower seem to be good choices, but I'm pretty sure in most situations I want to stick with Wind and Sin seems to cover whatever Wind can't.

I play the US version on PS3. I try to get on at least 2-3 times a week.

Speaking of the latest version of Arcana Heart 3 Love Max coming up. It'd be cool if one of the new features they added ended being a custom create your own arcana mode where you can mix n' match the special abilities, passives, and attacks of different arcana. Just a random thought I had lol.
-
Ok, so it's like fiona's excalibur super.
-
I also have no idea how to avoid her grab super. Is it unblockable or something?
-
It's mainly just to distract her. Having stuff on the screen is better than having nothing.

So changing to Sin definitely helped in the Fiona vs Scharlachrot matchup. I still lost, but at least it wasn't so one-sided this time. I think what it comes down to now is recognizing scharl's openings and which buttons I can press to try and open her up. I'm mostly struggling with how to get in on her at neutral which is challenging considering she has such a good anti-air or if they pick her default arcana I can't cover myself with Sin without risking getting a fenrir bullet to the face, but I think I'm finally getting somewhere. By the way is there any good way to combo into Sin eclipse or is it something in reaction to something?
-
Thanks for the help. I think at least 40 percent of matches were against Scharl and I had no idea what do against the character other than block and get her off me. I'll try out the sin arcana.

So I've been playing standard wind Fiona for a while now and the most trouble I've had so far is against Scharlachrot, Nazuna, and to a lesser extent Maori. Is there an arcana I can switch to make the matchup easier or is it just a matter of playing more patiently? Though with Scharlachrot it seems like no matter what I do, I can't open her up.

RIP AH3LM. I've been playing a few matches here and there on/off, but I guess I'll have to play more often. Hopefully when they eventually make it for console and port over a us version there's none of this cross-region online lock bs again.
-
So basically all I can do is block and take the mix-up, since I play standard Wind Fiona. I'll keep that in mind.

What's a good wake up option with Fiona if any? Raw E has been working for me more often than not. Not sure if it's actually effective or I'm just getting lucky with it b/c I use it so infrequently no one expects it. Are there any situations where you should use grab? From what I've played grabs suck, even in situations where I know you should be able to land one. For example a Weiss doing the super where she rushes you and I blocked it. Immediately after that I mash grab to punish b/c I know there's a considerable amount of cool down frames on her move afterwards and she's right next you. Some how, I end up getting hit by her 5a or 2a. It might've been the bad connection and my grab didn't come out, but it wasn't that bad that I couldn't perform combos after getting used to it. I guess if you can block and punish, 2a is always the better option.

I played a little under hour between 6-7pm today. The ps3 version at least seems to have some activity, not sure how the ps vita version is though.
-
I found it to be active during the times of 2pm-5pm, but I don't know if that will still be the case with P4U2 out.
-
Rise Kujikawa b/c she's just the right balance between rush down and keep away. Mainly tho she has alot of oki and mix-up potential which I really like. I can see some ouroborus shenanigans as well as some cool stuff with that platinum disc move.

The online options in this game could've been done better. It's like most of these fighting games don't get the concept of a rematch button.
-
4 separate communities for the same game that has a small audience to begin with. Now all we need is the shape of a heart divided into 4 sections with AH3LM PS3 JP + NA versions being the top half of the heart and the PS Vita versions being the lower half and to sum it all up. Wouldn't mind so much if the audience was big enough to support the game.

Sharlotte just single-handedly killed my win record. I have no idea what buttons to hit against that character.
-
No, I just wanted to play this game with people. I don't understand why they would segment the game like this. First no cross-play between PS3 / PS Vita and now no region cross-play?
-
Well 2b is a good anti-air. 5C is also good depending on your spacing and how high your opponent is above your head, but keep in mind that she is a spacing character. Most of her moves are most effective maintaining a set distance away including her 2b.
