  1. Is there anything to read (in English) regarding unhappy players? I keep hearing that 2.0 is killing BB (overstatement?) which is too bad, but I'm not able to find much on it outside of what someone says on a forum.
  2. Maybe the jB change is a response to AoA getting safer on block?
  3. Do we have a good cross-up game to make up for it? Every time I cross up, I can't hit anything due to the short range on our 2/5A.
  4. Good to know. Note to self: Don't autopass. Yeah, look me up whenever you'd like a game. My MU knowledge is very, very limited (which is why I think Akihiko gives me such a hard time... don't know what's a true blockstring and what isn't),and since SLabrys is more rare than most I could use all the help I can get.
  5. Hey, had a blast in the newbie room! Mic sounds were super low, so if you were talking at me, I probably couldn't make it out. In any case, it was super helpful. Gotta remember not to autopilot with my about-to-be-Fatal-Countered DP. Still have no idea what to do vs Akihiko, and Sho is a crap shoot for me as well. But I had a ton of fun and hope to do it again. PS: How in the hell do you turn off "auto-pass" if you accidentally put it on?!?
  6. Yeah I generally feel either starved for meter or starved for damage. I've been getting decent results by making sure to have a crouch combo and a corner combo though. In either of those situations, her damage goes up pretty fast.
  7. Just introducing myself. I am a Rise player (though I hope to be a SLabrys main eventually). I've got a pocket combo, but my execution needs to be tightened up for sure. As P1, IADs, 236236, and expecially 214 > 236236 motions are crushing me. Anyway, I'd be down to play just about anyone. I don't mind getting bodied. I just like to learn
  8. Alright, another "how do I beat this character" question. Specifically it is Yosuke, but more generally it is anyone that stays way above me. Basically, I'm having difficulty in beating people that jump a ton.
  9. Am I wrong to be surprised at buffs? I thought Rise was considered to be in a good place?
  10. Awesome. I'll dig around the general thread a bit then and see what I can find. Thanks for the response.
  11. Just picked up sLabyris and started messing around with her combos to get a feel for her. Got stumped at the first one: - 5AAA > 2A+C > j.2B > dash > j.B > dj.A > 214A > 214C [2254dmg/35 meter gain][Damage & okizeme] My questions are: What is dj.A? And possibly related, how in the hell do you hit with 214C? When I do it, my persona does nothing at all.
  12. In my very inexperienced view, scanned state is a "bonus". It is the punishment severe enough that your opponent needs to block. If they do block D, you get a fairly easy in which is what I see as the reward of the move. There are combos that apply scanned state, but the ones I've found all have a microdash in them, the timing of which I can't get down yet so I've not bothered.
  13. Some random questions from a very new P4 player: What is your primary neutral tool? 5a seems to have too short of a range to be extremely useful. Is 5b or 2b safe on block? Safe enough to use anyway? Is airturn hugely important for Rise? I seem to whiff a lot of j.b that seem as if airturn would have hit. Or maybe it is super important for all characters? It is a new mechanic for me coming from other fighters, and I certainly don't use it like I should. How do you use d (any of them). Right now it is just a good way for me to get Persona broken. How useful is 2c+d really? I'm getting a ton of mileage out of it right now, but I'm also playing at a level in which people just absolutely refuse to block. I imagine it drops off (significantly?) later on? Anyway, thanks for the help!
  14. When I play a match, I get an option to record it. Can I use that to upload files to youtube? Or is it local? If no, how does one get shit from PS3 to youtube?
  15. Yeah Yukari was the really rough one. Garu made a physical block to stop me from running in easily while it also provides the threat of an arrow any place on the screen. The recovery on D is so bad that it was completely unusable for me outside of combos, but I did get some mileage out of 2C (can both hit the persona and provide a threat that can't easily be blocked by projectiles). I think your bit about not letting them get started is key though. I'm still very new and I'm not confident, so I have a habit of backing off to get ground and take time which is likely exactly what I don't need to do vs a zoner. More character specific, vs Yukiko can you punish her getting levels at range? And how to deal with her FA which kept bursting me away? Does it need to be baited? Or is there something I can do to punish it earlier than that?
  16. How do you deal with zoners? In my very, very limited experience they shut down my C and D (especially D... think I'm at 100% for getting it hit vs Yukari) outside of combos almost entirely, and I have a hard time getting in on them without anything to really lock them down.
  17. Is the connection number worthless? I don't see anything higher than a 1... ever. And those are not necessarily better than the 0s I find. All in all relative to my other gaming, this has been a horribly laggy experience.
  18. I just like her Dizzy-esque-ness. My view in any case is that by not picking the "best", you often learn the ins-and-outs pretty solidly, quickly.
  19. I take all balance suggestions with a grain of salt. I play other fighters and was mostly curious as the consensus just to make sure it was not something like... "Well you picked Rise... sorry " I don't mind putting in work and ultimately the aesthetic will always be the largest deciding factor for me. Thanks for the responses. After weighing my options I'm really liking Rise, Yukari, SLabrys, or Liz for now. Think I'll pick up Rise first though. Thanks again.
  20. Awesome, that is exactly what I was looking for. My next question and one that is far more subjective. How is the balance? This is my first P4A game, but I had always heard there was a huge difference between competitive tier and everyone else (which may or may not have been a fair statement). Is that the case in P4AU?
  21. This might be a naive question, especially since the game seems a lot more rushdown oriented than others, and it is definitly a lot to ask since it will take some typing to answer, but: What gameplayare the characters ie who is rushdown, who is vortex, zoner, and on? In lieu of that, a brief summary of the characters would be cool as just getting into it, they all feel a tad same-ish though I know that is likely not the case.
  22. Well I'm hitting that AAA > 214A > 5C link about 1/4th of the time which is much improved from earlier. Who knows, in a few months I might could be hitting it 75% of the time! It seems the trick is definitly to buffer the arrow. Still not easy though. And it seems that there is a fine line from buffering it too early (so that it doesn't come out at all) and too late (so you whiff 5C). I'll keep trying, I guess. Thanks for the help all.
  23. While I'm asking questions (and getting answers!): The characters I'm most interested in are: Aigis because I like the Hakan "UP in one mode/OP in another" style, and she seems to fit the bill. Shadow Labrys really just because I love pet characters and what a pet! And Yukari because... we'll I'm not sure, just something about her. I can't find a lot on her playstyle except Coma's bit above. So she's kind of a zone/rushdown hybrid?
  24. That's the one. Is it a tight link?
  25. This is really specific, so hopefully this is the right place. How do you do her Challenge 20? I can't connect my persona after the arrows > feather bomb. Is there a trick I'm missing or is my timing just ass?
