Option selecting throw with 5S or 5K seems really helpful against him.

I've had luck with 2H or running 2H as it stuffs some of the special cancels he may use off the backdash, as well as catches his jump if he doesn't FD. Some other ideas are 6H, a meaty bridal express, or a later-than-usual airdash/IAD. I have a harder time with his corner pressure. 6H in particular seems hard to hit even when I know where it's gonna be used. 2K 5K and 2P all seem to get hit, like his lower hurtbox retracts a bit. Will have to try 5P or 2S.

Alright I've been scrubbing it up with Rachel against my roommate for a while and have built up quite a few questions. Pumpkin Ground pumpkin between me and my opponent. Any tips here on converting off 6D pumpkin hit in general? I just want to dash 5B 5CC typically? Also, is there an optimal time to dash + wind? Like does 66D move me further than using wind before I dash? I've seen someone convert having to use 6D twice to get pumpkin to hit twice for more hitstun. Ground pumpkin behind them. Is this mostly useless? When I find holes in their string to 4D the pumpkin into them, I'm sliding backwards and don't know how to convert a hit. Assuming I really want to convert what can I do here? Will 6D and a dash get me there fast enough? Air pumpkin behind them - is a 1D pumpkin hit easier to confirm? Or can I do like 1D into 6D and dash up and convert off the two pumpkin hits, or what do I do? ~ Combos When ending combos in 3C is it better to cancel the last hit into pumpkin, rather than the first? Just do that for really long combo enders? What can I do for a corner combo off something like 2A with a lot of scaling/prorate? Like after I land 5CC in the corner I do either: low wind: 6A, 5A 6A 236A, 6A 4B into 3C or super high wind: 5B jC 236A~2D, land, 5B jC 236A~2D, land, 5B 6A 236A, 6A super (could probably 3C instead?) (My timing on comboing off 5B 6A 236A needs work.) I'm not sure these work off the longer confirms. The second one rarely does, maybe if I omit one of the reps of the seed loop? Do I just need to do 6A 4B, 3C and call it good? ~ Mixup So let's say I land a short string into 3C xx pumpkin oki and they neutral tech. What are some effective mixups? In the corner I just j2D and go high or low, but midscreen I don't understand effective ways to move the pumpkin forward and apply pressure. Can I 3D the pumpkin meaty THEN jump and still catch the momentum for her overhead game? ~ Okay I'll stop there.

Blazblue will be there. When I say nothing's concrete, I mean we may add games, but we're not gonna take ones off the list I reckon. Also the dates are the dates. That's not gonna change either. Last time seattle drove down to a portland tournament, we were only rolling like 10 deep and we still outnumbered the oregon players. Jussayin'. I imagine it'll be a set venue fee (maybe $10-20) and then an additional $5 for each game or something. Bring your deodorant ladies and gentlemen, this is gonna be the most crowded majors yet. Much smaller venue than the last 2 years.

Good shit Spark! Holdin' it down for the northwest. I haven't been following BB but Hakumen is probably my favorite character and I'm mad hype you repped him. In other news, NORTHWEST MAJORS IS BACK! No GG but there is BB and the game list is far from solidified. Sure we could get a GG tourney going if enough people raised their voices. That's a good point. I didn't mean rush per se, but I guess I felt the need to try to trap them between carl and nirvana, when really I should just keep good spacing between carl and nirvana in relation to them. Thanks. -

You're doing it too soon. Trust me. It's more about the timing than doing it really quickly. Instant is misleading IMO. It's not instantly after you air dash, there's a pause where you can't throw out an attack... It's like right AFTER that burst of speed if you ask me.

Wait, what? All characters have a double jump... As for jump install it's not all that useful with ABA. If you really need that extra damage I guess, sure... (but I'm pretty sure orb loop combos would do more anyway) I'd rather A) end my combo in a keygrab and be closer to the ground so I can refresh, or B) do a more damaging combo and again, be closer to the ground. ABA on the ground and your opponent in the air is better than both of you landing at the same time-ish. The only JI combos I see are maybe from throws and all it does is add another jS to the combo *shrug*
