  1. Those look pretty interesting. I particularly like the near instant item pulls. Still probably punishable in neutral if the opponent expects it, but it isn't just a huge HIT ME sign like before. Also, am I right in thinking 5C... can now be used like Liz's 5C Thanatos slashes?! That looks pretty cool to me. Is that actual pressure, or can they poke through those 5C's between guards? I thought a J.C change was made at some point according to old tweets. Any news on that?
  2. I fight Leo quite abit. I usually just play zoner and make his weak movement be his downfall. 6H as mentioned above is lovely. So is JD and 5H can catch him often. Grenade the hell out of him from full screen and react to when he tries to avoid it. I avoid going into his poke range at all costs unless I landed a f.S. Don't dive kick a smart Leo either. If he reaches you... you have to play a horrible guessing game of when to FD, IB or poke. Not pretty. I'm nowhere near a good player in this, but that's how I handle him.
  3. I see... It's probably me over hitting 5H on a guarding opponent and then getting nailed by him before I can recover. Stun Edge DOES make pulling grenades extremely risky though. I'll try the 2H through Stun Edge trick a few times, see if it works. I doubt it works on the charged version.
  4. Would someone please offer some insight on what Elphelt can do against this guy? Ky's normals completely beat hers in every regard. He can shut down full screen grenade pulls, low profile like no tomorrow against her 5H, and DP through pressure. He is a balanced shoto type, so of course his tools are solid... but this feels like a 2/8 in Ky's favor. Help a noob out. Should I be just reacting to him and not going in? I try qcbK, 2H, jumping qcbK, even 6H is so easy for him to punish.
  5. Your execution needs to be perfect. This game has little mercy. Until you get the hang of it, try to stick with reloading only the rifle. I can get 2-3 reloads pretty much. The shotgun seems alot harder probably due to the pressure of being in close. I doubt there's a easy way to do it. You just have to learn to, unfortunately. Remember to not accidentally be hitting another direction, I use the direction pad to keep from doing that.
  6. 5AA means the first two hits of the auto combo, then hit 5B. 2AB should be a sweep, 5AB is AoA. 2 means down. So press down AB at once. I like to place the AB as a top button on pad to make it easier. EDIT: I was ninja'd.

  8. Thanks for all the advice you guys. Rickt, I have been looking into ways to get a few low J.B ,J.2B's in my assaults. That's actually what I was practicing. (I didn't even know Marie's J.B was a overhead until I looked through the wiki some.) The OMC is interesting too, thanks.
  9. Hmmm... well, I totally see the problem with me being a one trick pony on offence. I actually spent a few hours in training today checking for a new (low execution) overhead starter. I may have found a new mixup, but won't know until I fight another defensive player (I think it HEAVILY relies on me outguessing them due to pesky DP's.). Been practicing dash cancel on 5C as well, not that great... but hoping it'll catch some cornered people. 5C/2C also hides her AoA (which after setting Yu to grab spam ,can't be grabbed) fairly well due to the my color choice. Although, I know you guys hate those lol. OMC/OMB is a system I can't seem to incorporate well. I'll probably work it in as I go along. Knowing when to hit a button while being bashed on is... difficult to say the least. I should not attempt to escape ASAP? I think that will be a weakness I'll have for a looooong time. Thanks for the tips.
  10. I don't see a Marge topic... so I'll ask here while mentioning my current tactic for both Liz and Marge. Don't even bother trying a full screen set up. Spears and Zio ruin it. I like to double jump, superjump, mixed with air dash to get in. I mix J.C and J.D to close the distance (if they use air ziodyne, just out guess them by running forward occasionally, blocking appropriately of course!). Once in... well you gotta stay there. 5B might work on her DP like Kanji's grab, but I always get caught, lol. While this works against Liz (at least for the ones I encounter). It doesn't seem to be full proof on higher end Marges (those who use well placed air fire/ice balls). How is the best way to pin down a Marge with Marie?
  11. Thanks, but it's obvious I'm a scrub killer at best. You guys who take this game seriously are just too good. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to ask in this thread, but... If any of you could send me some critic of my performance I'd be grateful. No matter how harsh it might be. I tend to either dominate (when fighting random beginners) or get stomped. I'd like to know every fault you see if possible. Either posting here or messaging me. I use PS3 controller so hoping that isn't holding me back.
  12. So, the extra session tonight was fun.., sorta lol. I guess everyones figured out my Marie playstyle and it's working against me. I was getting frustrated so decided to drop out for now. GG's. I really hope to use someone else too eventually, but it seems it's too early for that. Time to work on getting yellow rank back over the weekdays, I've done like 5 times so it's no biggie. I'm used to this routine heh. Yes, I know rank isn't that important, I just like seeing yellow next to my name for having played this since US launch lol.

  15. Thanks for the rare opportunity for me to use a variety of characters (that I suck at lol). It was turning into a bloodbath when Hitmarker seemed to go full KWO mode. I wasn't up for constantly fighting for my life with Marie at the moment, sorry. Remember also, that unfortunately, reaction (and ridiculously long combos) is important. Just knowing what to do and when to do it will only get so far. I can only say practice until you get used to it. Getting past casual level in FG's is very difficult if you aren't naturally talented, but not impossible (I keep telling myself that at least). GG's to you both.

  17. Hello. I was wondering if anyone could share with me some SMALL Shadow Rise combos for her shadow frenzy. I can't seem to get her supers to chain together at all. Is there any way to say, chain Hysterical Slap to Rise Live on Stage, or just into another Hysterical Slap? Thinking of using her alot more with these shadow buffs (I originally wanted to main her but Marie stole the show lol). Any help/advice would be appreciated. If nothing small is possible, combos that I can easily break into parts would be good, for shadow frenzy.
  18. So, GG's. I just HAD to go screw up and AoA in a panic right at the end, sorry. I need to find a alternative to 5C>2C SOON lol. I just love that link too much. Wanted to try more Rise/Labrys but felt I was going to be too awful and not much of a challenge with them. You guys are solid even with your subs, mine are like joke characters, lol.
  19. It seems Marie is getting turned into a more zonerlike direction with this patch. I personally like it. 236D saves me tons of meter against Yukari/Yukiko at full screen, yay!
  20. Well... heh that makes the patch a bit pointless for consoles considering by then, XRD and CP2.0 will be in full force. I hope, ASW considers porting sooner rather than later for a dead game. Thanks for that info, I wasn't aware of that.
  21. I see. As a player who can't ever seem to open up a good defender, I (unfortunately) greatly appreciate the buffed AoA (although Chie's sounds broken). I suck at mashing it out though, so I'll just have to wait till January to get away with the it by always holding for guaranteed 6+ hits lol.
  22. Will the sudden focus on AoA in 2.0 have any effect on the rules? Seems they might become a more frequent part of offense now.
  23. 5C is THAT big now? I'm imagining Liz's Ziodyne like screen control, just more focused around Marie. I can't wait to see a vid of that. Sounds like a exaggeration... 5C>2C might not be a huge loss as TheOneTrueScrub said... but I will feel it's loss. I suffer from "combo inability syndrome" and that was one of my go to moves lol. Hoping you're right Pen_Ninja. About it depending on the distance. 5BB into Sweep was DPable anyway, although it's maybe the 236AB add on that's harder? Still more days of the test to go, so... wonder if anything else regarding Marie will show up.
  24. So, since no one of remarkable talent has yet to add anything to this MU. I will throw some fun stuff Marie can do to ruin most generic Kanji's day. 2D and Cloud. Use them often and keep your eye on Kanji at all times. If he isn't moving towards you, expect his tackle move (Brute Force?), stay ready to move or block his lightning move as well. Once close enough, 5C and 2C completely outspace him. His DP gets rendered helpless and you can follow up with whatever (wait for the DP to end though, so he isn't still invul.) On top of that, 5BB is actually immune to his command grab if timed right. I have gone through his grab several times, it must be considered a auto hop of sorts. DONT J.C him unless you feel he is too nervous/scared to react. It will ruin the zoning advantage Marie has. I must say that it's a MU very in Marie's favor. Correct anything or add more professional advice as you see fit guys.
  25. Sweeping after 5BB is something that actually became a bad habit for me (it's DPable). I didn't know 5C had a dash cancel, going to fool with that a bit. Thanks.
