  1. Ram's safe neutral plan is basically jump back and set swords or mash j.p, so no there's not much you can do other than anti-air or force her to block a ball before the swords get you.
  2. What do those and the 4 looking thing mean anyway? I can't find a legend for those things anywhere.
  3. Every rando Ky, Sol and Sin love to spam their high risk/high reward crap and it's left me with bad habits like using raw carcass raid at unsafe spacings against someone good at those characters when they aren't handing me knockdowns on a platter.
  4. The first thing that runs through my mind is that would make c.s a better antiair, or it's a mistranslation and in fact has the hitbox placed higher so we don't get our higher damage c.s(3) combos on the big guys that all happen to be low tier anyway.
  5. you can just red roman cancel a throw and get it. If you want to ~style~, I did find out before I knew this that you can chase after your throw and activate before they hit the corner and use dash momentum to slide into position and then IK. The spacing is tight, but it works from any points on the screen.
  6. Her dead angle leading into her hell vortex is fucking maddening.
  7. Much like USF4 PC, don't ever play ranked. The code's broken there for some reason, and everyone's real bad. You also aren't play SF4 lag free lol.
  8. If the change works how it sounds, it neuters too many options on too many characters to ever make it into a finalized update.
  9. Congrats on top 8, Dai.
  10. Who fucking knows, but it's not just you. Ranked is unplayable because that bars don't mean shit there. Lobbies are fine though. I get the same delay in lobbies against a 1 bar as I do against 4 bars. And of course everyone in ranked plays sol, ky, sin or i-no so you cna't actually do shit through the 5 frame minimum delay lmao
  11. I have no idea how to deal with a may that just straight up refuses to play the ground game. Hell, I've never even seen one try to play a ground game.
  12. Even the low tier characters in this game have good tools to work with.
  13. 1)I'm talking about the fresh venom experience. 2)I mean compared to, say, Ram, El or Millia, where you're have to actually be braindead to not get a meaty disc, grenade, or sword after a knockdown . They just kind of do their thing and then you get to focus on your thing. With Venom there's a thought process just to get to the point of doing your mix up. j.k will whiff if they're too far, j.s will whiff if they're too close, maybe a p set > 5p would would work better ect, It's not easy to learn, training mode is pretty much worthless for it, so you need to just play a lot of games against every character until it's in your brain and you can do it without a thought, and in certain matchups venom can't afford to fuck up that oki even once. By finnicky, I mean his combos are all character, spacing, and blocking dependent. It's pretty simple when you get a good confirm and can focus on it, but just watch Venom's and how often a seemingly simple combo will drop compared to any other character. I see it all the time watching Jonoisan and saw it all the time watching KiT. Yes I read your posts, lol. This is all before even getting into ball set play or how deliberate his neutral game is. I love Venom, but I completely agree with anyone saying not to play him if you want to win tournaments when you could just play one of the less punishing top 5 and get grips on them in a fraction of the time.
  14. If you hit the wrong button or move wrong, they get out. It's braindead once you've got experience under your belt and instinctually know what to do for the spacing, or when it's more reliable to for another oki setup, You don't just set and hit a dashing j.k or j.s and get a meaty ball. Like, the pay off is powerful, and he's worth the time investment to master, but I think you're underestimate how much there is to Venom if you're picking him up fresh.
  15. His pressure and combo options are all really finicky, and the smallest thing can turn them into a full punish for your opponent if you didn't see the drop coming. Venom requires a lot of knowledge and practice just to do a basic oki mix up.. He's really good, he's cool as hell, he's fun, and his pressure is as terrifying as it gets, but it's a long road to get there when you could just, for example, lay down a Millia disc and choose between 2k or tk. This is without even getting into ball set play outside of oki, which is both mandatory and requires about as much knowledge and experience as learning an entire other character.
  16. It wouldn't be so frustrating if the bars didn't flat out lie a lot of the time. 4 bars can be anywhere from 1-5 frame delay in my experience, so unless I know the person there's a 90% chance I'm about to fight a terrible Sol or Ky or a good Millia through 5 frame delay and at that point I'm literally just guessing what's going to come next and waiting for them to dig their own grave, and I would just rather play another game. edit:lol nevermind it can even mean 8 frame delay, okay. It's really good if you know what you're getting into, but the bars are so worthless that you might as well not even play against randos unless you want to play one of the characters that absolutely thrive in lagland.
  17. Venom is literally impossible online against the 10000 scrubs who are never not mashing out a reversal. I fucking love baiting out 5 dps, only to get owned by the hellfire super because I was like 3 frames off in my oki timing through 5 frame delay.
  18. Dark Angel got nerfed to hell, Red Hail doesn't lead to hard knockdown, and nobody knows if there's any good use for Bishop's Runout yet. I'd just use all your meter on roman cancels.
  19. What do you mean react to reaching their level? It feels like waiting until you're actually at their level will make it always drop (at least against a sol dummy. I use Potemkin, Sol, Slayer and May for dummies, and Sol gives me the most trouble doing this combo consistently and I have the other three in muscle memory pretty much) as you fly right over them, and doing it as you're about to meet them is so soon that it feels like I have to buffer the input into my jump but it the buffer doesn't seem to last long enough to actually react.
  20. God, I've been working on the fucking c.s (3) > IAD for a solid month now and whether or not i can do it reliably still changes from session to session. Almost 20 hours in training mode on this one combo. Kill me. I'm delaying it until far into the third strike, doing 866 and everything, but I just can't find the timing on the sweet spot where j.h doesn't whiff and they can't tech out before j.s
  21. c.S (3) works on crouching Leo
  22. Yeah. It's only hitting me in ranked, too.
  23. Shit, I thought I was going insane with sqv > 5p > bh > iad ect. not working on most the cast. Thanks for the update.
