  1. Since the cursor has a maximum height, you can throw the bomb bag high enough so that you will recover before you enter the height that the bomb bag explosion can punish you.

  3. Hello! Welcome to dustloop! I'm more of an Xrd player, but if you want to improve on your neutral game, in general, I think it would be good to start with small very specific situations that you commonly find yourself in. For example, what moves does Kokonoe do that you have problems with, what do you think you can do about it and what do you think doesn't work and why? You could also try using the BB Matchup Directory to find the Noel versus Kokonoe specific thread and ask questions there where somebody with more specific knowledge can help you out: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/forums/topic/11280-bb-matchup-directory/
  4. I've created a new topic for better visibility, but the Faust skype chat has moved to discord so that it is easier to access. You no longer need a Skype account and you can try out Discord without downloading any programs or signing up. https://discord.gg/0YsZMsyXsk1r58pe
  5. That doesn't seem to be a black hole specific combo.
  6. We're moving to discord so you don't need to contact anyone for an invite: https://discord.gg/0YsZMsyXsk1r58pe
  7. I think it suggests something about the legitimacy of oki after hold item-toss.
  8. Common thing for Faust to do vs Potemkin at the start of the round is 5K. It should beat most of Pot's options. Pot can counter Faust's start of round 5K with 6P.

  10. Even if Faust does the chop, he can block, FD cancel, throw a bag, even airdash!
  11. I actually find it pretty hard to punish Sin for eating, since I'm usually too far. If I really really want to punish him for eating, what I'll do is I'll YRC before using f.S. That usually makes it in time and might even make Sin mess up cancelling eat into YRC. FDC JH is probably really good, but sometimes I think it might be better to not play the JH vs air beak driver game, just because I don't want to get put into the corner immediately if I lose and all I get if I win is one move. For bull bash, I think you can time 5D to make it whiff, but I haven't really practiced that since I don't see bull bash that often. I think you're right about Sin's pressure though. Faust's 5D and crawl don't help much here, since everything is very active or he's using moves that hit crawl like slide. Maybe against JD mix-ups they might be useful though. Sin needs to cancel JD into J214S whatever that move is called so if you make it whiff he'll fly up. lol
  12. In the air, Faust's options are mainly: bag, drill and FD cancel. Sin can use beak driver to blow up bags and drills need to be spaced close and above Sin to avoid beak driver. FD cancelling seems to be very very useful in case Sin slides. If Faust FD cancels over a slide, it's very easy to punish with JK. I believe Sin can also slide under fishing pole, so strings like f.S-fishing pole can be countered on a good read.
  13. Yesterday I was playing @Aginor in this match up and I found it hilarious and possibly useful to 5K notes that are aimed at catching Faust jumping. If I-no decides to shoot notes at you, I don't think it's a bad idea to just stay there and dodge/detonate them away from you, because she won't be able to gain any position advantage (just a tiny tiny bit of damage) and you'll be able to find many opportunities to throw items.
  14. Can somebody figure out if 2d-pogo-gmw doesn't knockdown elphelt from farther than mid screen? might be because it puts her higher than 2h or 5h
  15. excerpt from: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s646/sh/00c02b08-35b7-4004-8d8e-540ceb811013/f1870df552e47f650afae0d5b5592715 Faust - Not as impossible as it once was throughout the XX series, this matchup is still slightly low on the WTF scale nonetheless. Faust’s ability to disrespect is simply too great, and his ridiculous crouching hitbox makes some mixups unusable against him. You must safe jump against him always, and air throw attempts need to be weighed heavily against his options such as j.2K, FDC, and j.H. Find a way to knock him down and run Oki into the ground. Resources are of no importance in this match, just take it one round at a time. 6P & 5K will own you if you are not patient or approach without the cover of note. However, 6P & STBT work well against f.S, and Scalpel Pull. Snipe item throw on reaction with HCL (watch out for hammer) and you will find yourself with Faust on his back more often than not. Take full advantage and use all of your treasure mixups with full prejudice. Rating: (4-6) Credits: @mynus
  16. Sometimes you can do something like this if you see a bomb after knockdown: [0:06:32] Evo 2015 - GG Xrd Loser's Final: Woshige vs ODG | Nage Experiment with the timing. Some ways you can change up the timing are: -Use 2K before your instant-overhead to stall for time -Use fdc JPK then jump at the last moment if you don't have enough time -Do f.S after J2K instead of 5P so your recovery is outside of bomb range
  17. He says he uses it when he's too close to the opponent and doesn't want to do okizeme and he wants to throw an item. I suspect Kiisha's backdash YRC mix up also is a result of trying to avoid the same situation.
  18. [0:16:29] 2015/4/30 GGXrd Mikado stream - Fino(VE) matches Nage does the Pogo P ender here too. :s I'm just going to ask him about it.
  19. I think maybe he wanted to avoid GMW because he had very low health. The risks involved with GMW oki is that if you want to get an item, you do item hold and then you have either ground options or air options. Ground options are risky because they're throwable and he didn't want it to be obvious if he went for the air option. So he decided to play it safe by getting an item and doing 2K meaties that Fino wouldn't attempt to throw. Also, we have some match analysis given to us! (lucky!) http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1snenl0
  20. Yeah, Faust always has to be worried about Stun Dipper after a blocked f.S, since at the right distance it punishes both f.S>Item Toss and f.S>Fishing Rod. (Except when item is Hammer or Weight lol) So throwing in a Pogo Slam for counter-hits is always nice, even against characters who like to do their own f.S to punish your Item Toss. 6P is the general answer to Faust's f.S. Faust's f.S is not very disjointed and you'll net some nice counter-hits if you challenge it with upper-body invincibility. I also noticed this part was really nice on Kiisha's part: [0:01:19] PS4™×『‎GUILTY GEAR Xrd -SIGN-』”闘神激突” Battle2 [ KISHA VS EIN ] Using the FD brake to mess up anti-air timing should be a huge pain to deal with, making stun edges much more committal and 2H riskier. You can't stop anti-airing, so I assume the counter-play to this is to use more preemptive, farther reaching anti-airs or even air-to-airs like JK?
  21. The counter-hit is guaranteed because of the flashing guard gauge. It's a kind of put 2 and 2 together thing, but if you've never considered it, it's good to see.
  22. What are the start of round options in this match-up? All I know is Venom's 2S beats Faust 2P and then I make everything else up.
  23. Kiisha probably did 2K-2P-2S-etc. because the 2K-2P part is burst safe. After a throw, I never go for delayed item toss anymore, since I don't think there's enough time to do a delayed item toss and get a good meatie setup.
