The New England Thread: Bears Warbling Outside My Igloo: A Polarizing Dilemma
Lelouch84 replied to Zoob's topic in East Coast
That'd be awesome. I just don't care much for GG, and I have no interest whatsoever in UMvC or USFIV. I'd be all in for BB or UNIEL though. -

@Vyers: who are the notable western mass and CT players? I live in western mass when I'm not in school and Connecticut is an easy drive for me. -

It seems like GU mostly plays Guilty Gear for anime fighters which is not all that attractive to me. I don't play Guilty Gear much and I don't want to play it competitively. Is it just me or does there not seem to be much going on in NE for fighting games? -

Anyone feel like getting a group together to play some games (I play mostly BlazBlue and UNIEL but we can play everything). Synyster and I are looking for people to practice with, and maybe compete with. Also, I don't know if there's any streaming for the NE region but I think it would be fun to get that going. Anyone interested please contact me through pm or reply here. Thanks guys. -
The Brain Box (Boston, Massachusetts and parts of New England) Thread

Are there ever any BlazBlue or UNIEL events here? -
Honestly I have minimal interest in GG. I mostly play BB, and I'll pick up UNIEL when it comes out later this month. BB will probably remain my main game though. But we'll see. My friends all play either Smash or GG so I need an offline BB partner. PM me if you're interested.

Hello all. I'm looking to get a group of people together for some BlazBlue, some Under Night In Birth, and maybe some Guilty Gear in the Boston area. Anyone in the greater Boston area or even in Massachusetts (as I live in western Mass when I'm not in school) who wants to get in on this please let me know in this thread or by PM. This would be intended to have an atmosphere of friendly competition with all welcome. We'd mainly train with and compete against each other. No fees or anything like that, just show up and play. We can discuss venues and times once a few players get in on the action. Thanks guys.

I would highly appreciate some help with Kokonoe if anyone around here knows her well. @AragiTheVamp: I highly recommend you stay away from mu as she's going to be getting major nerfs in 2.0. Nu on the other hand will be top-tier.
-
It's not unfair to begin with. @poochp: I just don't see these changes as buffs. the longer charge up times makes my pretty vulnerable IMO, and the longer totsuka blade means it's much easier to dodge. I watched h.h play against mio and mio dominated. I think h.h only won a few matches. My looked like a shell of her former self to me. The way I see it, the new steins are intended as combo extenders.
-
Sure every zoner has options but that doesn't make them a true hybrid fighter. Obviously you can't leave zoning characters completely vulnerable at close range.
-
Unfortunately now the game has no true hybrid fighter and that saddens me.
-
That's just some elitist bull shit right there.
-
I don't think full screen steins makes her a pure zoning character. I think she was a great hybrid as she is now. IMO her ability at any range is fairly solid, and making the steins shorter range defeats the purpose of having them at all. Now she seems half-baked in both close range and zoning. Maybe her close range has improved, but her long range at the very least is half-baked. If they went this far they should have gotten rid of it all together because doing this limits her setplay options significantly. The reason I ended up choosing her over Nu is because of her ability to do both setplay and up-close fighting. Now they're pushing her close game and I just can't wrap my head around why they would do so. Also, watching h.h play against a litchi he is losing the majority of the time. It looks like her options are more limited now and in a lot of the games h.h is doing all he can to defend himself. Mu absolutely needs the ability to control the neutral space with her projectiles in order to force the opponent to approach in a way that is advantageous to her.

Her steins not going full screen is my biggest complaint. Maybe I'm overestimating the nerfs on some of these things, but she looks kinda bad to me now. Not only was the range of the steins shortened, the charge up time has been increased and totsuka blade is now slower. No steins off ikutachi sucks imo, as well as the weird 6b. If someone can explain to me how these changes make her safer or better then maybe I'll change my mind, but I'm pretty skeptical as of now.

Seriously R.I.P Mu. These changes are a butchering of most everything I liked about Mu. I just don't understand what would possess them to make these changes. She's not considered to be an op character or anything so I don't see why they'd nerf most of her best assets. I'm so baffled and really mad at this. I am looking at having to switch mains now because the new Mu looks horrible in comparison to the current one. Is there some way that she's actually improving that balance out all of these enormous nerfs?

I know a lot of people have this issue, but I've been struggling to really create my own play style. I've been playing mostly Hakumen and Mu-12, but I'm not sure if they're best for me. I tend to like to use a character with balanced options. I appreciate when characters have a viable option for most situations. I tend to be a little more defensive minded, but I'm not set on that. If it helps anyone my main in Smash is Lucario and my sub is Peach. If anyone could recommend a character for my play style I'd appreciate that.

In regards to the new characters, it's pretty disappointing that the new characters in Extend are basically copycats of characters we already have.
-
Will BBCP Extend include all the DLC characters from the regular version? Or will there at least be some way for me to get the characters I already bought on Extend?

Thanks for the offer to help. I'll be glad to finally learn how to get better at this game. Mu is especially good to me and from what I can tell she's underplayed. I hope you're prepared to take on a total noob as a student though haha. BlazBlue is the first real fighting game that I've played. Anyway I'll send you a pm later tonight. Thanks again.

Hello all. I'm new to this forum, but I've made use of the helpful wikis here for a little while. I've been playing BlazBlue CP for some time now, and I could really use someone to help me become a respectable player. Honestly I consider myself to be bad at fighting games, but I'm really sick of getting my ass beat even though I put in a good amount of time practicing. My main is definitely Mu-12, but I have recently wanted to mess around with Hazama and Bang. I wouldn't consider maining Bang, I just find him fun to use, but I might consider maining Hazama. If anyone is willing to help rescue a noob I'd be very grateful. I have access to a headset and can play online so as long as you can get online we should be able to practice together. Thanks in advance guys.
