Wow it's been a while since I've posted anything. Quick question, what does everybody do after landing a reversal Helios? I'm messing around with stuff and want some opinions.
-
I have a lot of trouble with Ky. Bedman's hitbox makes it tricky to weave around aerial Stun Edges and we can get outranged pretty easily unless you're judicious with 2S. All of my matches with Ky end with me getting the charged Stun Edge oki or trading projectiles and having to chip away at his health. Also I get scrubbed out by Greed Sever/Stun Dipper mixups :| Honestly, I'd rather fight Zato than Ky.
-
Isn't it the numbers listed under guard? Or am I misinterpreting that?
-
That info is on the wiki. Bedman's range is tied with Axl, Faust, and I-no's. We get beaten out by Slayer and Zato, and everybody gets outranged by Potemkin. Leo, Sin, and Elphelt's ranges are unknown at the moment, but Bedman outranges everybody else for sure.

What does D stand for here? I'm guessing that 2D is sweep, but 236D isn't anything so I'm wondering if you made a typo here.
-
He's just supposed to be doing a really silly cockney accent. Liam's British accent in D4 is spot on. Also I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who had Chipp pegged for Sean Schemmel.

I never really notice Hellfire in match, so I agree, it's whatever. Supers outside of stuff like Dark Angel and Faust's super item throw don't get used too often, though some of the newcomers have pretty usable supers. Since somebody brought it up, I don't mind Awakening in Persona, but I'll cut it short there to stay on topic.

1HS deals absurd damage in a combo, I find that if you can pull 5H(2), 1H off, you should just go for Task A or C, depending on what kind of Deja Vu seal you want. Dropping 50 meter on a red RC if you go for Task C leads into 6P, c.S, Task C for pretty close to 200 damage.
-
This is pretty sick. I've been trying to get it down myself, but how in the world are you getting j.S into Task C? The way Bedman gains momentum during his air movement is making it incredibly difficult for me to pull off.
-
I've always been puzzled, why do pad players just use the pad over the thumbstick? Is that a general thing or Bedman specific in this case?

A novice player hitting that "brickwall" in GGXrd

On the topic of match videos, what you should be looking for are what situations specific moves are used in. Faust has several different moves he can use as an anti-air for instance, so if you were using him try and observe the situations in which he uses his different AA moves. If you're having trouble with specific characters, mess around with them in training mode or watch videos of them, not necessarily fighting against your character. I think when it comes to stuff like combos and YRC timing, you should try to do it properly ten times in a row in training mode. Again, recognize situations where you can use combos and setups and don't try to just throw stuff out. I'm competent at GG and Persona but I've got problems of my own I need to work on (I've played around 30-40 ranked matches of Xrd and won about half of them) so I feel like I can give help without being overwhelming. Feel free to add me if you'd like!- 24 replies

I think Dust combos are easier to do if you dash forward (8>6). I do basic 5D>K,K,S,8>6 S, 236S and it works out ok. What I'm really having trouble with is air movement close to the ground into an attack, like an IAD using Bedman's movement. It usually whiffs or puts me on the wrong side. I've been trying a quick air movement into K,S,236S with some success but it's very inconsistent to land. I like Bedman's j.HS, but I feel like it's not safe to do it all the time so I want some alternatives.

Task A' gets you in when it connects, but if you want a non-gimmick Task A is just really solid all-around. The boomerang effect catches people off guard pretty easily, especially at full screen where it'll hit twice in quick succession. Also if you've got 25 meter you can YRC Task C and Bedman will retain the momentum and fly in an arc, like when Potemkin YRC's ICPM. Also I found out since Bedman's IK uses his 6H hitbox it can hit behind him

I'd say just 8>1,2, or 3. If you've already used your movement for whatever reason get back to the ground using Task B or C.

The only English voice I'll accept for Zappa is Johnny Young Bosch. The idea of the guy with the "perfect hero voice" babbling incoherently and yelling at everything is riotously funny to me. Bryce Papenbrook would be a good Izuna if he's using his Theodore voice, Vic Mignogna is my pick for Anji, and my unrealistic hope for Bridget would be Maxey Whitehead (Alphonse Elric, Czeslaw from Baccano!).
