I added you on PSN. -
I've lost so many matches because of DangerTime... Carry on. I'm just ranting.

Gotcha, that's fine. FYI there's a FB group for NEPA now. https://www.facebook.com/groups/987763274579264 That should help. -

I go through Scranton once in a while. Who is the Asian guy in Scranton? LOL I had started up the NEPA FGC in like 2011 and I was the only Asian that ever showed up. We used to play at Adventure games in Dickson City. The whole thing moved to Bethleham/allentown now. -
LOL, none of those names are familiar to me. I think everyone I used to hang out with graduated in 2012 or 2013.

XRD [Xrd] Chipp Zanuff Gameplay Discussion
AznSpyderman replied to AtTheGates's topic in Chipp Zanuff
I have a question. I'm mostly new to GG (Xrd's my first, though I've been playing since 2014) and I'm mostly a venom player. I kinda want to take a long break from Venom though and regroup my thoughts. I've given Ky and I-No some time, but neither are my style. I usually play zoning characters or rushdown characters and Millia aint' my thing. I wanna get a lil Chipp down. Where do I start? He's got a lot of intricate combos and some good looking buttons. Anything like a "Standard 3 combos you MUST learn' type of thing? I'm good with a few (Like literally 3-4) points to always keep in mind and I can go from there. His combos and setups are so diverse though, I don'tk now where to begin. At least Venom only had like 3 combos to start with. LOL!- 260 replies

@DrKatz I still live in Ithaca. I'll be in Binghamton tonight, actually but not for gaming. I could make it down on a weekend. I added you on PSN. BTW - where you at Binghamton when John Lee, Eddie Hung, and Mubariz were there? I used to go to BU and play that group of people. I think there was a Facebook group called GuardBreak Binghamton?

I agree with all the above. He's hard, super fulfilling. If you choose to devote yourself to the character, he can be workable for beginners. he's my first character, as Xrd is my first GG game. I also prefer charge characters and characters with super technical zoning abilities. It's always been my playstyle, so it comes a little more natural for me. But I will admit, I've put more time into Venom than I have in SF4 as a whole. He takes a lot of work. Between my two accounts, I have over 10 days of training mode logged, mostly with Venom. That's 240+ hours - and I still drop BnBs or miss setups. He's hard.

[Xrd Revelator] Venom Discussion Thread *UPDATED FOR 1.03*

That's really interesting. I like that. Earlier, I was thinking the new blitz would have crippled Venom even more, but if you can't do projectile / low, it doesn't. -
That's hot. I like that second one.

5D is multi-hits?
-
El's cS destroyed me last night... I have a question. The wiki says 5D has 3(2)3 active frames. What does that mean? Same with 2D as 1(15)8.
-
Gotcha. You can tell I'm new to Guilty? I don't even know what I'm looking at sometimes.
-
Gotcha. I was hoping you'd have done more work on it because I'm having trouble keeping the 1-ball BRO active long enough for me to set up all the balls that 310 does... Mine goes away after 2. That said, you've seen how much meter drain FD'ing Dark Angel does in Rev? You might be better of sticking with that. It's like 70+%
-
Dai, you figure this one out yet?
-
Theoretically, I cannot see Chpp at all. I'd have put him at "Large disadvantage" in some cases, but mostly under "Disadvantage"
-
I had that problem. After the BRO bounces off the corner, IT MUST hit the opponent upon reactivating. It will bounce off of them and get low enough. I don't know how to describe it, but it's absolutely position specific. I can't get it consistent at all. I think I'd be able to figure it out if I understood the properties of how BRO activates / deactivates, or rather is a hitbox versus a ball set.

Not having cancels REALLY helps. Thanks, I know exactly what I'm doing wrong then. Much appreciated.
-
I have a question about cancels. I've been trying the last week to mess around with the 310 BRO setups and you know what part I'm having the MOST difficulty with? Canceling the ballset into BRO. Meaning, I'll start out with whatever into knockdown, cancel the 2D into a ballset which I attempt to cancel into BRO... I've looked at my inputs and I have it perfectly as: 2, 1, 4, 4P, 2, 3, 6, 3, 2, 1, 4, 4H. Sometimes it comes out, sometimes it doesn't. Is it a timing thing? Can I only super cancel at a specific point? If that's the case, how do I tell if I'm doing it too fast or too slow?
-
Once you hit the j.k, try delaying the s a little bit longer. j.k drops your opponent a little
-
I do have XXAC+R, but don't know how to play it. Xrd is the first one I'm really working at. If you have that, i'll play you for sure. Also, not from Ithaca - I just live here while my wife's at Cornell.
-
At which point is he falling out? I had that on the j.H part, and by putting a slightly larger gap between j.K and j.S, I get it more frequently.
