http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynojEvuhMmY At 2:15, 2K (The Ragna Player) does ground 6A, 6B, which causes a knockdown and a OTG opportunity for Ragna, in which he tried to do 6C. You could probably follow it up with 22C though. It's nice because if you either launch them with 6A or not, Ragna is in a good position. Either OTG or overhead into 5C.

20th for sure. SF4 is being ran that weekend, and having 2 pay to play for a dollar tournaments on consecutive days will turn off players that would normally join.

The sticks suck hard, and the buttons fluctuate. Yesterday they were horrible, today they were just fine, on both sides. Tomorrow they'll probably suck again. Me and Isiah are there almost everyday practicing nowadays, just sparring and practicing execution from like 3-5. Yeah, everybody plays it. NY is so far behind Cali its not funny. People can't dash cancel for their lives. I've only seen Chino, Long Island Joe, and Justin do it.

Oh BTW, Cabinet Smasher. I play Venom too, so we must play one day. I want to see how you play. I couldn't make it to play n' trade that day because of something I had to do, but hopefully next time I'll be able to go. I did however go to the 3S 2 man team tourney and my team managed to get 3rd. That was like my first real tourney, and I've only been playing 3rd Strike seriously for like a month.

Just got a stick (Wii Stick for 25 bucks) and realized how horrible the sticks at CF are..........wow.

Honestly, I know where your coming from Hellmonkey, and as much as I want to side with you, I can't. I would retort, but it'll just be theory fighter and splitting atoms, since both sides of the argument are really strong. Unfortunately, arguments like these can only be resolved face to face. Also, as the Japanese have shown, making tiers based on tournament results is impossible. Plus, you have to handle the big party, the EVO thread. I say......rejoice to the fact that this is one of, if not the only 2D fighting game were tiers aren't concrete and really define the game.

Thats not the argument Ryu. The argument is whether or not tiers matter enough in high level play to be considered. I say they are. To say they don't is really optimistic IMO. However, I say GG is a game where tiers have to be considered, but not to the point where you can blame a match loss because of it. Like Ogawa vs. Kaqn, you can blame them for a round loss, but in very rare occasions. A great example of this are the 3rd Strike players Hayao (Hugo) and Kuroda (Q). They are are just on another level than ANY other player, but that doesn't mean tiers don't matter in 3rd Strike. They in general could just play on higher level than most, which makes the character APPEAR higher than they are on the tier list, but they really aren't. I think Teyah didn't put enough emphasis on the word "appear" in his earlier post. A good example of this is Hayao vs. KO (Yun). Hugo only has to command grab Yun 4 times to kill him. Hayao knew the perfect times to grab KO, and KO couldn't do anything about that. A Yun against a Hugo that knows when Yun will leave himself open is an impossible match for Yun. But to be able to do something like that, you have to be a genius. A genius will make any character look good. Sorry that I had to use 3rd Strike to prove my point, but its a perfect example.

Venom Match-Ups according to N-Otoko: 6-4: Johnny 5.75-4.25 - Axl, Anji 5.5-4.5: Robo, Ky, ABA, Hoss, Bridget, Dizzy, Sol 5-5: Pot, Chipp, May 4.75-5.25: Zappa, Jam, Ino 4.5-5.5: Faust 4.25-5.75: Testament, Baiken, Slayer 4-6: Millia, Eddie The I-No vs. Venom match up only further proves my point. As you can see though, Venom is one of the characters were all 3 of the top characters are at an advantage against him. :sad:

Samurai, thats a bad example. Thats just naturally a bad match up. Both I-No & Chipp are considered a D tier now, yet they still go even with Venom who is 2 tiers higher than them. And while both are at a disadvantage against Potemkin, Venom goes even with Potemkin, who is 1 tier higher than him. Baiken is 2 tiers higher than Sol, yet Sol is one of her worst match ups. Same with Dizzy and Potemkin, Bridget and Potemkin, etc.

Like I said in the post that was deleted for some reason, many top Japanese players that main low tier characters and are considered best or pretty good with their character switched to a higher tier character. Even they realize that they do. I think its pretty indisputable.

SF4 is HYYYYPPEE. You would think that the 1$ per play would make scrubs not throw away money for one game where they just get fierce punched into a fierce Shoryuken. >_> Basically, the game is great for Super Turbo players. If you played ST before and know your fundamentals for shoto's or other ST characters, you'll beat 70% of people there. Almost a guaranteed 4-5 games for a dollar. And lol at the GG cab. The punch and dust button didn't work at all at the end of the day, FOR BOTH SIDES. Stupid cab.

I didn't get to play SF4. If you want to play, I suggest coming either as soon as it opens, or when its going to close on a weekday. There was AT LEAST 40-50 people waiting and watching to play. 1 Dollar to play. 6 Game win streak limit.
