I don't know how important 2k is, but I feel dropping it in general for 2S isn't such a bad idea....2k prorates a 70%. I feel I haven't done anything if I land a 2K, into whatever combo, as it barely takes 140 damage if you do it right. While 2S doesn't hit low, it leaves you with a better frame advantage for tick throws, and no proration. Most people that know anything about Sol know he only has good a low/throw mix-up any way,which in essence is just a hit or grab anyway. This doesn't cancel out the possible 5D mix-up though, because after a GF FRC most people block low expecting a 2k anyway, unless they know how you play. And they start only blocking high expecting either a 2S or 5D, you can throw a 2k in there and catch them. What do you guys think?

What I do when they're landing behind me is dash, 2k, 2H, j.s, SW. I feel like 5k makes them go to high, and I mess up my combo every time I try it. Oh and its probably old, but I LOVE this combo (I've only tried on Johnny and Slayer): 2S, 2H, 2D, BR(1), j.H, land, 2H, j.S, SW, etc. I messed up the execution for SW in one of my matches, and had to improvise, so I did that. It takes MONSTROUS damage if you land it and get in a few SWs in there. Most of the time it makes them bounce behind you, so you have to practice that. Question though....why does a pure SW hit (no j.h, or j.s,etc. before it) in the air do so much damage? It could be just me, but I feel it does more damage.

I don't know if this is normal or not.......but during roughly about 8AM-1PM GMT -4, I receive HUGE problems loading the site. It either takes about 3 minutes to load, or it times out, most of the time its the latter. I'm lucky I even got here........

Your f.S stuffs anything he throws at the start of the match. However, if Axl knows your going to do this, you just gave him a good 20-40% of your life bar.

Nah. Slayer can 6k,2k,2h,BBU > combo whether you in the corner or not.

Yeah, I probably could've done it a BIT later, but I didn't trust myself enough to burst a few frames before it hits, and it still seemed like I would catch him, but thanks. That upper body invuln is nice to know......I should have just eaten the second BBU for the guaranteed knock away. I had the upper hand anyway. = \ Ah, it makes sense now......thanks. And wow, most Survival Borders end at about 1/3 of the whole character list. It makes you appreciate GGAC much more.......

2 questions. What is the "Survival Borderline" (I think it has something to do with the tiers)? And HOW THE HELL do you burst from a BBU,BBU,BBU,BBU,j.k,2K,j.D combo? Its ridiculous. I had a Slayer today with almost no health,and I'm here with about 50% of my health. He did that damned combo and killed me for the win. I tried to burst right when he did it, but even though I was hovering over his fist, the burst wave didn't reach him,and he just 5H'd into another BBU and little finish for the win.

His damage output is his only real weakness,and he excels is many other things (zoning,poking,hard to combo,nice okizeme,pressure is better than average,nice DP), and is basically average in others aspects. His matchups aren't bad at all either. He should definitely be B tier.

While I agree Sol is C tier (gettin in is extremely hard with certain characters,no good overheads,easily escapable pressure,and if he does get in his mix-ups aren't to tricky,alot of his options are unsafe most of the time), I don't think Slayer is a bad of a match-up for him. As long as Sol takes the reigns of the match like in the video by taking advantage of what he has over Slayer, he should be fine. I agree with CD about Ky though. He belongs in B tier.

The opponent isn't going to just block knowing you can easily GF FRC for the pressure and potential mix -up. Against Sol, I know always to expect and GF FRC when poking and when in neutral situations. Since it really doesn't travel that far, and doesn't last to long, IMO its almost impractical to do it unless you know the opponent will block it, if not, you just wasted tension for the circumstances to stay the same. They can easily just jump or IAD foward or back, unless your in a corner where its much more effective. I'd have to agree with Spirit. When you really start to play with him you can really tell where his problems lie.

It wasn't you then.....I faced this guy around 5-6. Pretty good Testament too. I left at like 8.
