Thanks so much for this, this was helpful!

Awesome! Well it may be good on our parts to figure out when would be best to talk strategies and the like. Just my opinion, I do better when I know that the people I'm talking to are right there with me so to speak.

Thanks! So...how do I get to that?

Hey Rams! So just another Ram player trying to level up and get better with Ram! I know a lot has happened since the patch and how we almost were neutered in a way but that isn't going to stop me from getting better with Ramlethal. So I was wondering if someone would be interested in showing me a few things or other tech. I know a few things about Ram, I've been playing her since just before the patch came out but really I just want to get better! I hope to hear from you soon and thank you for your time! PS4 tag "IwasLeft2Die" if you want to get a hold of me there. Thanks again!

Hey Kys, I'm a Ramlethal player that has a hard time with this match up. The local fighting game community here has a very good Ky player here and bodies me every time we play. I can only maybe take a round or two from him after playing a few sets with him. I know I'm by no means a great Ram player but I'm definitely up to learn how to improve. Just reaching out for help and trying to level up in general. I look forward to hearing from you and thanks for your time. I play on PS4 and use the tag "IwasLeft2Die".

So with that said, are there any other tools that we should be aware of in Faust's arsenal? I feel like jH is also an issue but that could just be me. I enjoyed the conversation about the 6P vs 5H in neutral, I'll have to try them both out and go from there. On the 5H hit, what would be the follow up after the hit? I imagine either Dauro or something with that is in the air, although the air option may be difficult to pull off. Also on the 6P, what would be the follow up there? Would the OS work here too?

Yeah, I have typically been using cS>fS in the middle of wall splat combos and I have noticed that he will pop out on occasion. I just need to remember to go to the cS>fH>deploy and continue from there. The midscreen PK carry combo seems messed up a little, but it may be in the timing of it all. Could also be the lag or whatever but that is not something I can help right away. The weird hit-box could explain how he pops out of those sometimes too. Thanks for info, this is helpful

This is good stuff One thing that I also have found is that Axl seems to pop out of some of my combos. This is clearly frustrating and I was wondering if there was something about him that made that so. Are there character specific combos for Axl? It doesn't seem like there would be in some of the stuff that I looked at, and its reasonable to chalk that up to technique on my part, but I'm still curious.

The advice given here so far is still good for 1.1? I can't remember when 1.1 hit console here in the states.

Nevermind for the corner carry thing, I found a video of a Ram performing this stuff on most of the cast. The one at the end is geared for lighter characters like Millia! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2csAR96lyE&index=53&list=PLTeNCE_ke4gwPnEKdcTB2b2-6e7GJ6iAV

Well with that said, what is it that Ram's ought to do to with this match up? Any go to combos to confirm into that work best? General strategy? It sounds like meaty 2S>2HS seems good after a knockdown. Are we sure that she has no options during that set-up. I feel the same way about using it to stuff air approaches, I think that with Millia's maneuverability, it wouldn't be worth the risk. Also in terms of corner carry, since I'm garbage at getting decent damage at midscreen, is there a particular way that anyone likes to float Millia to one side or the other after confirming a hit. I'm trying to work on IAD loops on her but I wonder if she is too light for that to work. I'm also wondering if there is a specific way for her to be looped in that way. Does anyone know if that works, and if so, what is the most consistent way you've found to get her to the corner?

I have found that fighting for the middle of the stage to be super useful, the unfortunate thing about this strategy though is that it is hard to do a lot of damage (at least for me) midscreen, and corner setplay occurs less often (where most of my damage comes from). I try to keep her on whatever side is closest to the corner, mostly to avoid being cornered myself after her corner carry combos. With this, the Top Oki is not as hard to deal with if you get knocked down, as mentioned before, you have some options to get out.

[Xrd 1.1] Ramlethal Gameplay Discussion Thread
Citadel19 replied to Syklone's topic in Ramlethal Valentine
I've only been playing Ramlethal for a little bit of time, so I'm no expert by far, and only recently has Guilty Gear made sense to me as a player who is trying to get better at the game. (Mostly play Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat) But I do agree with some of the stuff that is on here. I think that a lot of wins that we Ram's get are hard fought over. I sense that I have to work a lot harder at getting a win than other characters in the game. With that said though, it does come down to the neutral game and knowing your MU. I like the Youtube videos I have found where players are using Ram and doing well but I see Daiji lose more than win. He does all of this work with Ram, and then something silly happens and the momentum swings to the other side. I don't seem to have the problem of not having enough meter, but that is probably because I abuse S and HS when they are equipped to me and I foolishly rush down (Still learning the MU's). I mostly keep my swords equipped until I can get my opponent into the corner. But if in neutral and if I deploy its usually only HS and its usually if the opponent is full screen. 2S I typically use for meaty wake up situations and I try to position myself where the tip of my sword would hit them, if HS is equipped, I go straight into 2HS after the 2S. If HS is not equipped, I'll try to link into 5D to get myself at -13 instead of -41. But yeah that's probably why I don't have as much of an issue with meter. Oh and I'm fishing a lot with my f5S for CH>Dauro. I don't get a lot of CH and I end up in their face because I'm buffering into Dauro, again not the wisest move though. But yeah this comes from just being overly aggressive and not very wise decisions on when to go in and that is mostly rooted in unfamiliarity with the MU's. Hopefully some of that is helpful. I want to contribute and learn as much as I can cause I do want to get better. (And not get beat by Online Sol's as much.........)
