I forgot to mention this, but I actually really like the 'Mikado' style weekly tournament; it's hype and people stay interested in the result because it doesn't drag on like the double elim ones do. Hopefully we can do more in the future (* >ω<)

Some Woshige matches from Mame's Youtube o(^▽^)o Woshige vs Ain (KY): Woshige vs Karinchu (JO): Woshige vs Haaken (SO) Part 1: Woshige vs Haaken (SO) Part 2:

Do you have a source for this?

Here's the VOD from the tournament on Saturday, timestamps are in the description. Thanks to MTL for coming out! Give Slayer a gun.

Lack of trees makes it easier to protect the zeppian skies. Every character in Guilty Gear has a weapon except for Potemkin, Jam, and Slayer. Funny how that works.

We mostly just post stuff here for formality; just in case anybody not in discord wants to find it. The real question is who you're trying to fool by keeping that potemkin avatar?

It also depends on what your launcher is; off of grounded 2H this is good, but off of other hits it won't work. For example off of 5PP anti-air jKSD will drop, so it's best to just do jKD, off of air hit 5S>2H its best to go straight for jD, etc, etc. I find with Millia you eventually get a feel for adjusting things on the fly to achieve the optimal positioning in your combos, in both filler segments, after the launcher and after the IAD.

I just realized I had Nitro's Millia vs Pot evernote saved, it's very helpful from the Millia perspective: https://www.evernote.com/shard/s424/sh/f1ae63c9-6ff0-4efd-9984-ed752971eb64/197458c817a2fb076c18c3d32283a9fa

Sorry, I just saw this now. Essentially jump installing is jump canceling a move and then canceling that into another move so that the jump cancel doesn't actually come out (Ex. c.S > 9 > 2H in quick succession). Doing this allows you to be able to jump cancel after doing a super jump or a special move that leaves you airborne, otherwise you would not be able to. You can read more about it here: http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=GGXRD/Movement#Jump_Install

I know we don't use this thread much, but we have an official hype video courtesy of jak d ripr: Also while I'm here, happy holidays everybody (even if you play Ky).

Does anyone know exactly how luminous works? As in, I've seen the spike come out at different timings and at different directions. I imagine it has a D~C and [D] version like all her other specials?

A proper meaty should blow up mashing. Midscreen you can only get a meaty 2K after a H disc; any other mixup relies on them expecting to get blown up if the try mashing something and just waking up blocking. You can also do IAD over them on their wakeup to blow up mashing as well. In the corner you can get meaty overheads for a true 50/50, just practice the timing; I got BTFO by venom the other day because I wasn't used to how fast he got up. If they have DP then you just have to bait it until you feel that they're scared to do it for risk of it getting baited. Some relatively universal reversal baits are backdash > 2S and netural jump > low airdash > stuff. Dealing with reversals can vary by character, so I'd recommend watching what the pros do on a character by character basis. TL;DR people won't respect your oki unless you give them a reason to respect it.

You can use j.P > j.H or j.K > j.P > j.H instead of j.S > j.H after j.D > IAD in a combo to adjust the character's positioning relative to yours. In general I believe you want the opponent to be positioned above you in your falling j.H as this allows you to get more time to set up oki (sometimes if they're to far below you, you won't be able to get a true meaty) as well as do relaunches, pin relaunches, and pin enders in to secret garden setups. You choose what ender to do based on how you started the combo as well as that character's hurt box (I never use j.P > j.H ender on Potemkin), but in general j.P > j.H if they are above you, j.K > j.P > j.H if they are below you, and j.S > j.H otherwise. I don't really know what you mean by your second question. Probably character/height specific combo like Synyster said, but it's good to be able to convert into a knockdown off of a random air to air pin hit, even if it's something simple like pin > airdash > j.P > j.H

It's an overhead, but it will put you in stagger you if you block it standing. If you mash out of the stagger with any sort of determination it will only leave him +3, which is not enough for him convert off of without spending meter. Best to avoid it completely though, since it will reset his pressure.

Anyone know what became of that footage Yuri recorded last week? I'm curious. Also, I guess this is my first time actually posting on this thread; I'm the newish Millia guy who was on team colonoscopy bouquet with Krackatoa some weeks back.

I'm pretty new to GG myself, but I'll try my best to be of help. Midscreen, if you set the disc off of 2D and then either use meaty 2k or IAD crossup, if the disc connects you can convert it into a full air combo ending in a corner knockdown. If they try to mash they will lose to both of these, eat the disc, get combo'd, and end up trapped in the corner. Being knocked down in the corner against Millia is one of the worst possible positions to be in, so they might think twice before mashing next time. Once you've established that you know what you're doing, then you can add TK Bad Moon to your midscreen mixups giving you a proper high/low/crossup, but only after you've convinced them it's not in their interest to mash. In the corner your mixups should always be meaty unless you're baiting a reversal (j.H air combo finisher gives you enough time to set the disk and then do a meaty 2D/6K/214P/2369P), that way they are forced to take your mixup and guess block. If they have a reversal then it's a bit different, because a DP will beat your mixup, so you have to bait those and punish accordingly. I believe there are some character specific setups that are safe from certain reversals, but don't quote me on that. Hopefully somebody can correct me if I got anything wrong. I hope this helps.
