  1. This weekend the second RoE was held in Kyoto and there's some pretty hot matches from it. https://www.twitch.tv/neoam_acho/v/116223331 In particularly, I recommend the Ousu Hittou and Kure match at 3:01:00 and most of everything after that, especially the finals which start at 3:27:30. Was really impressed by some of the Hilda action in here, not sure if this is new tech vis-a-vis UNIEL, or just people mastering the character as UNIST matured. In any regards, this Ankoku Isago Sword dude is really strong with her.
  2. As someone who plays arcade UNIST off and on and watches a lot of replays from Battle Arena, Leisure Land and others, I still have no major disagreement with this list besides moving Nanase into (high) A tier. Recently Notes has taken up Phonon, and B-men and other players are picking up Nanase, so I think the strength of these two characters is becoming obvious. For other people's reference, a player named KGY (Kansai player) gave his tier assessment on Twitter the other day, and although it's not very granular it was widely retweeted, and I saw Satomaru agreeing with it. ======================== UNI tiers for beginners: S Seth Phonon Vatista A Hyde Byakuya Orie Akatsuki Carmine Gordeau Merkava Eltnum Rinne Nanase Yuzuriha Chaos Hilda Walenstein Mika Some matches are worse than others but all characters can win! ======================== The A tier list is also apparently in order of strength FWIW.
  3. I personally agree with Phonon S. At least as far as I can see, she has no particular weakness in her game. She has an SRK-esque get off me move, a strong close-up game, a very strong mid-range game and a decent long-range game. Here's a good example, this video of Satomaru playing against Rinne-chan: Satomaru is one of the most offensive players out there, but he has a really hard time re-starting offense once she gets her mid-range game going. There's also the fact that GO1 took Arc Revolution with Phonon, although you can attribute a lot of that to people not being used to the character yet. Still, I think at this stage, an S rating is reasonable and am curious why others don't think so. For Byakuya and Nanase, I agree they should be S and A respectively.
  4. For those interested in the arcade version of UNI, this blog which posts a lot of arcade strategies put up their analysis of the top tiers in UNIst: http://esports-runner.com/under-night-in-birth/chara_rank/ S Seth, Vatista, Akatsuki, Phonon A Eltnum, Hyde, Rinne, Orie, Byakuya, Merkava B Chaos, Nanase, Carmine, Yuzuriha, Walenstein, Gordeau, Hilda I mostly agree with these from what I've seen in the arcades here and on streams. I might move Nanase up to tier A, but that could just be because I have a pretty monstrous one at my local arcade.
  5. Curious if anyone is in Japan and interested in some player matches/actual arcade fightin'. My PSN ID is adversity1, so add me and post up here so we can keep track of people in the honz.
  6. Awesome nail-biter Carmine match here!
  7. So I play a horrible Carmine, but today I went to the arcade and tried out the new st version. What I noticed for Carmine immediately is that he's able to do B+C in the air, which causes him to hover briefly. The behavior of the puddle move is the same as it is on-ground. Not sure exactly what this adds to his game, as I wasn't able to do anything in the air after B+C. notes has been writing on Twitter how Carmine seems to have been powered down in this version as well and pointed out that in the character win statistics, he was the character that lost the most today.https://twitter.com/notes_emptyes/status/624220714745249793/photo/1 Sorry that I'm not better at the game at the moment and I'm unable to provide any more detail on Carmine changes.
