  3. relevant reading http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?7377-Clean-Hit-Properties http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?2903-Grand-Viper-in-Accent-Core-FAQ read them both. and we assume you have basic knowledge as you could probably get to that point by reading the wiki. we dont mind helping new blood, but you gotta understand the assumption. read thru the wiki and try to understand most of the system mechanics. clean hit, and how to do grand viper to get a clean hit, is sol specific... but notation is something you coulda looked up in the wiki, since sol's section has all his moves with info, notation, and names just dig around a bit, and ask if you still cant find. little effort though, all we ask ^^
  4. shoutouts to everyone who came lots of fun meeting you guys/seeing old faces #WhoAreYou #SeriouslyWhoAreYou :X

  10. guy above me explained better, go with that! Well hitconfirming doesn't need to be on 1 hit. Let's take your 5b example (with a shitty and probably not worth doing example... but i dont know tsubaki so well so just follow the purpose behind it) If you decide to do 5b, then the 2nd 5b, then 5c... thats 3 hits. Thats enough time to see if your hitting, at which point you can do 214d if you see it hitting... or the 2nd 5c into 22x if they are blocking. You dont need to be slow at the start, just try to have enough hits from when you first make contact to see whats going on. TL:DR - Basic idea behind hit confirming. I made contact! Let's do a few moves that can lead into a combo OR something thats safe on block until i can confirm if i am hitting them or if they are blocking... then when i realize it, change my combo/blockstring to reflect what is happening. Make sense a little?
  11. so 5h combos into L2BRP on standing now? thats nice. didnt notice that. i prefer specials in combos to d-loop so im happy if your impression is that specials are stronger and you say 165 dmg on BHB combo, whats the full notation? or is it just BHB into d-loop?
  12. yo sick my guesses for ro8 en, satou, roi, chonari, eki-channnnnnn, nage, bob, samitto or fab (so hard to pickkk) and am i blind, or are there really no order sol's in this outside potential LCQ winners?
  13. Simple way i always viewed rushdown (as a character style anyway) as a character who a: really wants initiative as fast as possible b: usually wants/needs to be at close range to be effective c: lacks zoning capabilities d: will make sacrifices to maintain initiative So maybe a 'rushdown' character would be a close-ranged fighter that wants to get, and maintain, situational advantage for as long as feasibly possible? EG: Jin might not be rushdown, because if things went back to neutral, he has plenty of tools still, and he can moves to use defensively. He would not mind losing initiative for a different trade off (damage/meter gain). Where a character like Millia might be rushdown, since she wants it to be her turn for as long as possible. She has a one-off move to get in in hair pin, tons of moves to maintain momentum like FB disc, and she lacks tools for playing her game outside of close range (mostly). Some example characters I would say as rushdown by my definition would be Millia/low charge Order sol/I-No in GG... Tsubaki/Noel/Valk/Tao in BB... Aigis when she has Orgia/Akihiko/Chie/Yu maybe in P4...... just saying off the top of my head anyway. Feel free to disregard/correct what you dont agree with.
  14. hot damn, so thats how you combo into 5c without using a d to fix the gap. alright then, neato. thank you.
  15. this seems like fun reinhard looks the most fun to me so far. but since apparently no one has even mentioned him as far as 'heres a combo' im on my own for figuring it out. this will be a fun side thing to try out. :D - is there an irc or something where people talk about the game/try to netplay?
  16. Here's one i hear get thrown around wrong a decent bit. Trying to keep the definition simple though... hmmm... i might not be the best for this... but ill try (partly because i think theres a lot more to it than that definition in the wiki for fight game terms also) Frame Trap: A gap in pressure designed to punish certain actions the opponent might commonly do, usually the opponent hitting a button/attack with no invulnerable frames. A frame trap does not have to give up pressure, but it does mean for at least a part of the pressure, there is a period where advantage can be turned by certain actions. Feel free to tear me apart if you disagree, but honestly theres a lot to say about frame trap in anime games in particular
