  1. Feeling like a bit of a thickie here, but when should the j.P after the iad be hitting the opponent? When they're going upwards, at the apex of the arc, or falling down again?
  2. Possibly have any tips vs I-No and May? Our local May player has this tendency to rape me with just a sliver of life-bar left, so I need to up my game vs him just *little* more... I-No's attacks have a nasty habit of going through 6p/2d/5k, and I just haven't managed to get enough practice against a player to come up with something useful I know that according to the I-No board CH is their worst matchup, but since I-No is the only CPU opponent that I still have problems with besides PO (-_-), I'm obviously missing something here =P
  3. Oh man, you mean forum threads get deleted automatically for inactivity? That's brilliant =( Thanks man, if I can help any, just let me know
  4. Wth happened to the Oki thread?
  5. Oops, that's where his tension went >_>. I should probably take a look at incorporating DAAs into my game. We've got an insane Johnny that comes here for tournaments, so I'm gonna take this vid to heart and try not to lose so badly to him next time :D
  6. This Niku Tama guy seems pretty good. He's got some sick keep-away game, making constant use of Chipp's hidden move in his mixup strings. He loses the match vs Ky, but it's so worth watching for the second round... he slashbacks Ky's goddamn 2p AND punishes him for it. His game is just so f'ing fast when you compare it to someone like Samitto, and yet he still manages to not drop combos :D Edit: Just watched your vid vs ED, Kensou. Your pressure was so awesome it looked like he didn't even know how to play :D
  7. Where *is* the old combo list? One of those that got wiped and we're supposedly hopefully probably possibly getting back one day?
  8. Hahaha goooo Chipp, right at the bottom
  9. Np. I've got finals tmrw and day after, but I'll do some more after that. As for 立ち回り, maybe "The brawl"? Or some such. I'm half-japanese, but I don't know gamer/net japanese at all =/ It took me like two minutes just to figure out what TG was supposed to mean -_-
  10. And you win first prize, Captain Troll.
  11. There's nothing like taking out little Eddie with a shuriken to make your day a little brighter :D ...like Banki Messai? It's great because nobody sees it coming, and then all they can do is just sit there for 6 seconds in disgust and lol at the 90 damage.
  12. Yeah, but the timing's so tight that the player has to really, really be able to react fast enough to pull a combo out of his ass when a poke actually connects, or you end up with ending up with a 20 dmg poke =(. Happens all too often when you're a scrub like me. I-no's a good matchup for Chipp, the others are pretty even, sadly. I know, I lol'd when I read that too :D. I *think* he means going into Find Me before they start their pressure string
  13. LOLOL I love these guys' opinion of Chipp. They pretty much rank him from C to E-... generally on the very lowest of all the tier lists. Sob. Except for this one guy who ranks Chipp as B, but his S-tier is Baiken and his E-tier is Venom..and some guy who classes Chipp as A and Axel as S. o.o. Anyways, without further ado: Chipp Zanuff Average Damage D: Has huge air time with triple jumping, but not much damage despite that. CH from 6HS is the best combo starter.Max Damage D: Use tension freely to lengthen out your gatlings. Possibly the best wakeup priority, but no follow-up.Pokes A: Hard to read, with high mobility, he's got moves that are hard to judge and react to, a far-reaching dust, and alpha/gamma blades are incredible for mid-distance.Pressure/Lockdown A: Take advantage of his speed and variety of pokes.Mixup B: Make use of his pokes and invisibility to mix up with 6K and j.HS and you'll eventually get through.Okizeme B+: If you time your j. HS right just overhead, it's difficult to cope with the crossups.Against Ground A: Well-judged j. HS and j. D. Can destroy turtling players with jumping crossovers. Shuriken.Against Air B: Beta blade, 6p, and well-judged 6HS give high return.Breaking out of Pressure B: Use invisibility, Beta blade FRC, and triple jump to create distance.Defense E--: Dies very quickly. Don't relax until your opponent's HP is 0.In neutral situations A: Use his unmatched mobility, great pokes, and pressure to win without taking any damage. ...actually, if you don't do that, you lose.Overall Rank: C-Good matchup(s): There are no opponents with a 6:4 matchup in Chipp's favor.Bad matchups: Slayer, Potemkin, Jam. Anyone who deals high damage. ...I don't know if I agree with the lack of good matchups o.o Millia and Dizzy at the least are just rape-fests.
  14. Sorry, I got his j.hs confused with j.s >_> My oppies were using pogo gatlinged from 6p/2s, I think it was. I take it that's not a common tactic
  15. I'm not quite sure - We've got a pretty good Faust player locally, and somehow I always beat him. Especially since as soon as he gives in and tries to pogo stick vs jump-in pressure, you can immediately FD cancel and punish with Zansei Roga =D Both his nani ka deru kana and the HCF+K move are punishable by FRC teleport CH j.d, and his j.HS loses pretty badly to beta blade... ...plus apparently the people over on the Faust board all cry about playing vs Chipp =D
  16. Thanks for the awesome response guys We have no local Eddie/Baiken, but our local Sol/HOS is insane, so I'll get lots of practice with this matchup. I've definitely been neglecting 2hs (and 2s); I'll start working on those. Cheers!
  17. Played my first tourney hosted by the local club. Didn't do too badly altogether, all things considering - most of my matches were just lost off a clear skill difference, including an awful round against Teyah where I discovered how fun trying to get out of Eddie's pressure can be. (He really *is* the only Eddie player around here =/) I had a truly awful time against Baiken and Anji, though. Baiken pretty much alpha countered every 6p in my chains, and trying to get around Anji's hitbox and guardstun with my regular offensive tactics just didn't work. I also had several matches against an Order Sol player which I should have won, but somehow kept eating vipers and gunblazes. Any specific advice for these matchups (and I guess to some extent regular Sol as well), besides 'bait, noob"? =D
